Title: A Cry for Help from Gorom Settlement Camp

My name is Alex. I’m a queer refugee living in Gorom Settlement Camp, South Sudan. I came here fleeing violence after being targeted for my identity. But even here, life is not easy

I’m not alone — I’m here with my four younger brothers, ages 12, 13, and 16. I am their only caretaker. We have almost nothing. We go to sleep hungry most nights. My health is getting worse — I suffer from constant headaches, painful ulcers that won’t heal, and weakness from hunger. There is no proper medical care, and food is scarce.

I am reaching out to the global LGBTQ+ community — my family — because we are desperate. I’m asking for help: for food, for medicine, for hope. Please, don’t forget us here in Gorom.

Even a little support can mean survival.
