Patti Smith with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe at Hotel Chelsea, New York. The legendary punk poet and musician lived at the hotel with her best friend and sometime lover Mapplethorpe in the early 70s.
Patti Smith is a living goddess.
I can’t really think of words to describe my feelings about the concert she and her band played two days ago in Mexico City. Their first concert in Mexico, ever.
I still can’t believe I was there, I was at the front, really close to the stage. I think about it and it gives me goosebumps.
Patti is 65 years old now and she’s still full of energy, she plays guitar and dances while singing, just like she has being doing for the last 30 years. Her songs are not popular, catchy songs. Patti writes, speaks, and sings full of honesty. Her songs are true hymns to life, to love, to people.
She definitely knows how to manage a crowd, it was a very emotional event.
I’m just so glad I was there.
I also got Lenny Kaye’s autograph.
“Come back again soon” I said to Lenny.
I really hope they do.

Me encantó.
