any time i see anything about hotd, so called faithful adaption of the dance;
if u ever feel bad know this show exists
Condal is such a performative feminist. There's not a single well-written female character in the entire HOTD. One is ready to kill her children in order to stand next to her childhood friend for even a minute. The second one is whining, tearing her dress, and for 3 consecutive seasons, she has not been able to figure out what she wants. And the rest instead of background noise. Feminism is just off the charts
welcome to the "feminist" retelling of the dance of dragons, where women aren't allowed to do anything except sit around and look sad and pretty while men make all the decisions
GRRM's newest blog post
A good read for the House of the Dragon fans who never read Fire and Blood and don’t understand why there is such disappointment from the readers. Small changes are not merely small changes. They lead to an entirely new story.
This post from the author himself shows how damaging it is when a show runner does not respect the author’s insights and original work (or clearly, the author).
I expect Season 3 will be an entirely new storyline given that the changes made in Season 2 will result in the butterfly effect, rewriting one of the best stories I’ve ever read into Rhaenyra fanfiction.

Hamnet (2025) dir. Chloé Zhao
Saw this last night on the big screen, as God intended.
Orpheus, filled with grief, journeys to the underworld to take her back. He charms this three-headed dog, Cerberus. He beguiles Hades until finally… he’s allowed to take his love back with him to the world of the living but… under one condition. She must follow behind him, and he must not turn around to look at her. Now, as they begin their ascent, Orpheus can’t hear her footsteps, so he listens… and listens and listens and listens. But all he can hear is the sound of his heartbeat. And the rest is silence. And as he approaches the gates of the underworld… he can’t contain himself any longer. He turns around to look at her, and she is… trapped in the underworld forever.

M'lords! I know none of you remember Ser Arlan of Pennytree. But I was his squire. We served many of you. Ate at your tables. Slept in your halls. He was a good man. And he taught me how to be a knight. Not just sword and lance, but honor. A knight defends the innocent. That's-- that's all I did. I was not Ser Arlan's blood, but I have followed his example. As your sons will follow yours. Who will stand and fight with me?
