Crazy He Calls Me [John, Rori]

“You were playing with them?” Rori repeated, raising her brows in surprise. She sat forward slightly, intrigued by his claim. But was it really playing or was it taunting? Rori wasn’t sure how much of the ferals old self was still within them - though if she were honest with herself she hoped the answer to that question was none. The thought of them being trapped in their own heads was terrifying.

“Sang to them – that’s what I was hearing!” Rori declared, letting out a laugh and reaching up to cover her face with her hand momentarily. Once the amusement subsided to a mere giggle and a grin, she looked back at John.

“I was so captivated by your singing that I stopped what I was doing to listen and a feral spotted me. It was chasing something, but I didn’t really see what it was. I assume you tossed something at it?”

“Yeah, I know it sounds stupid, but they really seem to enjoy it. One came up to me with a bowling pin - that’s what you saw it chase by the way - and kept walking ahead of me and glanced back at the pin until I started throwing it,” John explained. “Sometimes I sit down and eat with them too. I bring my own food, mind you, but I think it’s nice.”

John paused for a moment, suddenly seeming to realize something judging from the saddened frown that formed on his face. He took a deep breath and tried to shake the thoughts from his head.

“It sounds much worse than it’s meant, but they really are kinda like small children or dogs,” the ghoul said calmly and looked over at her. “If you want something they’re holding, you can either trade it for another item, or borrow it so long as you give it back to'em. I’ve even seen some of them do this weird shimmy when they hear a certain song, which is why I figure they like music and why I sing to them,” he continued with a small smile and a shrug of his shoulders.

Crazy He Calls Me [John, Rori]

“In my professional medical opinion – let’s wait for at least an hour,” she said, giving him her most serious expression, though a keen eye would see her struggling to maintain the look. “You did just eat, we don’t want you cramping up.”

Despite being amused - and overall relieved - Rori did have a nagging worry in the back of her mind. While the ferals wouldn’t bother John any, they would still bother her. Which meant if she was going to get him somewhere safer for the both of them for him to heal better, she’d either have to take them out or be extra sneaky.

“Hm?” Rori murmured, pulled from her thoughts. She looked over at him, having been staring at the shelf of a nearby cabinet when he had spoken. “Oh, yeah… I was sent to get some stuff someone left here. The ferals had run them out and they dropped their shit. I came to get it. I was…” She paused, and a small smile crossed her face, though she shook her head and looked somewhat embarrassed.

“I don’t like killing ‘em. The ferals. So… I was trying to stay away from them. Keep them from noticing me so i wouldn’t have too, and I was doing alright until… wait –” Rori cut herself off, her brows furrowing as she remembered just how the feral had found her.

“What were you doing out there with the ferals?”

“If you’re more worried about the one strip of jerky I had, I say we don’t wait at all,” John laughed and winked at her before his head fell back against the wall.

It was a bit of a surprise to hear that she didn’t like killing ferals. Typically, people didn’t have any qualms about shooting them, seeing them as a nuisances and little more. It was a refreshing change of pace.

At her question, however, he looked away from her briefly, chuckling slightly. “I was playing with them,” he admitted with a shrug, his gaze returning to meet hers. “Played fetch and sang to them. Most of them like music.”

“She’s feisty, smart, beautiful, and has the most sincere smile I’ve seen in a long time. Ten out of ten.”

“Now that’s one broody looking merc,” the ghoul let out a slow whistle and tipped his glasses down. “I don’t typically like long hair on men, but by some divine miracle he seems to pull it off nicely. Got a smokin’ body that’d make most guys jealous.”

She took a quick drag off of her cigarette, smirking when Charlie brought her her drink. She popped her head up when he plucked her cigarette from her mouth. She watched him, red lips in the shape of a little ‘o’ when he took a drag. Her shock quickly turned to amusement as she watched him closely, intrigued by this flirtatious man.

“Your ma sounds might smart, honey.” She took the cigarette carefully, taking it between her lips once more and watching his eyes carefully. His gentle touch made her shiver. Cheeks pink, she shook her hair from her shoulders, baring her pink cheeks proudly. “Your mama give you a name, sweetie pie?”

Black eyes followed her dark hair as it danced over her shoulder before his gaze returned to meet hers. “Name’s Jonathan Pryce, but my friends call me John,” he replied with a crooked smile and inclined his head. “And what about you, angel?” The ghoul asked, his fingers drawing lazy circles along the side of his glass.

“To drowning all our sorrows!” He clinked their glasses and took a long drink, hanging his head. “So, tell me a bit about yourself. My name’s Nate. Hello. I’m a 260 year old veteran with a dead wife. Ok you next.” Nate’s eyes were half lidded—he was already smashed. Though, it didn’t take him long anymore. This shit was strong.

This guy was older than John was? Well shit. "Nice to meet you, Nate. My name's John. I'm kicking 240, and I'm a deadbeat ex-con," the ghoul admitted casually before he downed half of his own drink.

She returned his little smile, lighting her cigarette on the flame provided before turning towards him as well. She took a drag, blowing out the smoke away from her hopefully ‘new friend.’ Whitechapel Charlie came over, and Ramona briefly turned her attention to the robot.

“Whiskey, neat, please.” She turned back and leaned against the table, observing her new drinking partner. “Anything? You’re too sweet. If I would have known the folks in Goodneighbor were so sweet, why, I woulda visited a long time ago. Tell me. Are all the other patrons as sweet as you?”

A whiskey girl, eh? The Ghoul smirked and wrapped his fingers around his own glass before taking a sip of the amber liquid. He sat back, his eyes following her fingers as they moved up to her full lips. A mischievous smirk tugged on his lips as he slowly reached out and pinched her cigarette between his fingers, gently pulling it free.

"Probably not. Mama always told me I was special," he replied with a shrug and a teasing smirk. John took a drag of the borrowed cig, savoring the taste and familiarity with closed eyes. Removing the cigarette from his own lips this time, he extended his hand and gently offered it back to her, his fingertips ghosting across her chin.

Ramona walked into the Third Rail, smoothing out her red dress she’d put on just for tonight.  It was her first night in Goodneighbor, and she’d already met the sweet mayor Hancock.  She didn’t know much of the politics in the Commonwealth, but they actually seemed worse than the Mojave’s version of politics.  Which was fine.  She needed to get away from the Mojave, and thankfully, there was a caravan headed towards the Commonwealth.  For bluer skies.

She went to sit at the bar next to another man—a ghoul—and she smiled at him, pulling out a pack of cigarettes.  “Hey, sweetheart.  You got a light?”

John turned to look when someone entered his peripheral vision, and was pleasantly surprised to find a young lady taking the seat next to him. Cracking her a lopsided smile, he fished out the flip lighter from his pocket and produced a flame before setting it on the bar top.

"Anything for you, darling," he said with a wink as he looked over the top of his glasses. He may also have taken a moment to turn slightly on the stool so that he was facing her, and looked her up and down with a slight, appreciative hum.

As stated before, John fall head over ass quite often. The time between puppy crush and infatuation to love is very short. For him to admit these feelings, however, has only happened a handful of times. It should be noted that he’s not very good at hiding his feelings, despite what he might think himself.

👠 What was my muse’s last serious relationship like?

Oh boy, he hasn’t had a ‘proper’ relationship in over a hundred years. His last one was with a girl back in the Mojave that lasted for a few years. After they split he’s gone from one bed to another and never really settled in one place.

Her name was Elizabeth (called Lizzy), and she was a woman who kept him on his toes in the best way possible. He loved her, and likes to think that she loved him too.

Not intentionally, no. He has a tendency to sleep and fool around, and unless it’s something he and his partner have talked about he will assume the relationship is casual and open. When he is in a committed relationship, however, he would never cheat on his partner.

😳 What was my muse’s worst romantic/sexual relationship?

Of the ones that he remembers, he’d say his on-again-off-again high school girlfriend ‘secret’ lover. She was a prissy upper-class girl with rich parents who liked the typical ‘bad boy’, but refused to be seen with one. He stuck around for the late night booty calls, so it was a terribly romantic relationship but a pretty decent sexual one.

2: Why do they decide to follow SS? Do they do it for money?

John be recruited as a follower after the player buys him a drink at the Third Rail. The player will simply have to ask him to tag along, and he’ll oblige. The player also has the option to flirt with him, which will lead to a short scene at the Rexford in the morning.
