her nose crinkles with amusement at the other woman’s words. perhaps to some it did seem to be a bit strange, but for those who had lived here all of their lives, it was nothing more than a favorite. of course, ella herself hadn’t had the chance to eat it herself before marrying her husband. even SHE had to admit it wasn’t her favorite thing to eat either. ❝ it actually seems to be a favorite around here. truly, it’s not the WORST thing i’ve ever tasted, but certainly not my favorite. you should at least TRY it ! ❞ ella insisted.

❝ you’re... ella, right? ❞ she asks, quirking her head to the side. truth be told, anya ( anastasia, she kept having to remind herself ) hadn’t made many friends since her arrival in paris. in her newfound royalty, she’d found herself catching up with her nana a great deal, but with dimitri gone, and vlad with lily on their honeymoon, she felt a little isolated –– not that she’d ever been the life of the party to begin with.

❝ or –– PRINCESS ella. sorry i –– i’m not used to the honorifics quite yet. we haven’t had any royalty where i’m from in quite a while! ❞ she joked, almost flinching as the bad joke left her mouth. she picked at the meal in front of her, slowly coming around to giving it a decent try.
