@starward-stones Powder Pearl Fanfiction.
It was yet another long day of doing nothing, the war making work extremely.. lacking, as your “owner”, Morganite, was a soldier and took most of the work. You occasionally and subtly reminded them that you were their Pearl and could easily take some of the work off her back, but she consistently told you she could handle it in perhaps the sweetest voice you have ever heard in your existence. So you usually find yourself sorting out files for their viewing and making reports based on various military encounters and incidents on Earth (usually without Morganite telling you to do so, but she doesn’t mind). Sometimes however; news didn’t come in for days and left you with no work to do, and there was nothing else a Pearl could do on a ship. The ship wasn’t fairly large and the crew was relatively small and the crew unfortunately disembarked with Morganite whenever she left, leaving you all alone when they don’t bring you along.
So here you are: sitting in your lackluster chamber on the ship, reading over old documents and files in a vain attempt to keep yourself busy or maybe even come up with something. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to pique your interest and you sigh in boredom, leaning back in the chair and rubbing your temples as your mind unconsciously shifted to thinking about Morganite. They were truly something else, a Gem that truly seemed to care for you and even respect you: something that you knew other Pearls could never have from their owners, but it was still something they decided to give you. Initially you thought it was a bit odd that she treated you in such a matter but you eventually learned to accept it, your opinion of her growing greatly as a result. You smiled as you thought about you and Morganite, it was taboo but you loved them; you loved them even though you knew it could never work, but you still thought of it nonetheless. Holding a small shred of child-like hope that perhaps one day you could possibly get that close to them. You sighed again and leaned further in your chair, it wasn’t at all possible; not just because that it wa taboo, but rather the fact Morganite was with someone else. They had been with Sunstone (another Military Gem assigned to Earth) for quite some time and you could tell that they were together. Of course you were a bit naive, but you weren’t stupid, the signs were clear as the brightest day to you. They held eachother in high regards and were always in each other’s presence, usually being physically close to eachother even in public, Morganite sometimes told you she was going on a “classified” meeting with Sunstone. You would of thought that it was all hilarious had you yourself not held feelings for Morganite as well. You were jealous, every time you saw Sunstone it took every fiber of your being to not even frown at her. She didn’t deserve to have Morganite, she hadn’t known her for nearly as long as you did, if anyone deserved to love her it was you.
You sighed again and straightened yourself back up, wiping away a few strands of loose hair and pushing yourself back up to the desk. You wanted to tell someone about them just to get Sunstone in trouble, but you knew that Morganite would get in trouble as well and you would be reassigned. Glancing at the illuminated screen you slowly begin to get back to viewing old files, now attempting to not only keep herself busy but her mind away from the sensitive topic. However, you quickly got a notification on the screen informing you of a new message which you thought was meant for Morganite. You quickly navigated the console out of the old files and towards communications to display this message, a move you were initially a bit reluctant to do. However, once the message was on display it was clear that the message wasn’t for Morganite: rather, it was for you. You were shocked to have received any sort of message so you quickly shifted your eyes to see who it was from; Sunstone. Now you were incredibly curious, what did Sunstone possibly have to say to you? Opening the message your eyes looked in horror as the subject on the top of the document was revealed: “Reassignment; Morganite Shattered, report to me immediately.” Needless to say, things changed for you from then on.

@puppythekat Fic Based on their character: Baby Blue Spinel.
You sat at your desk in boredom, staring deeply into the notebook you had spread on the table. You had been given special orders to entertain Blue Diamond: to make her feel better and get her out of her depression, and you are failing spectacularly. Nothing was working, Blue Diamond was brushing off all of your performances and jokes, worst of all you could tell that each time you saw her, she was falling deeper and deeper into her grief. You needed to do something new, something that was more than just simple joking or wordplay, you needed something complex and intellectual. Suddenly, you are enlightened by an idea, a play, -one of your oldest ideas but one of the first to be discarded- and quickly flip a few pages backward in the notebook. Finding what you were seeking you smile and get up from your seat, taking the notebook with you. You smile and pace around the room, speaking your thoughts out loud. “Of course! A play! Blue Diamond needs a story, not some random set of jokes!” You close your notebook, filled with a new set of optimism and hope, this was going to be the performance to not only help Blue Diamond but catapult you to fame (or whatever kind of recognition a Spinel could get for their masterpiece)! You take a confident step toward the door and open it, using the elasticity of your form to quickly operate the terminal beside it. The door quickly opened and you stepped outside into the halls, Blue Diamond’s throne room being just at the other end. Walking toward the grand entrance you quickly pick up the sound of an arguement, the entire altercation having previously been unheard due to the distance and isolation of your room. Once you make it a few feet towards the entrance you stop and look at the arguing Gems, instantly recognizing them as Two Lapis Lazuli’s and a Sapphire. “Why are you considered to be more important then us!?” One exclaimed in fury, pointing at the Sapphire. “Us Lapis’ are the ones who do the work and terraform the planets for the Diamond’s to colonize!” The other Lapis spat. “All you do is sit around and dream all day while us important Gems get our hands dirty!” The first shouted. The Sapphire was calm, calm and silent, never once uttering a single word despite the bombardment of insults and degradation given to her by the Lapis’. The first Lapis scowled, infuriated by the other Gem’s silence. “I’m done with you, all of you, thinking your so high and mighty.. ignoring us..” She hissed, grabbing the other Lapis and walking away. While walking away the second Lapis shoots a hostile glare at you. “Your worse then Sapphires.. your nothing more than a parasite.. you’ll get yours real soon..” She giggled before leaving. You silently snickered, finding some sort of primal joy in seeing the Lapis’ so upset and loud. You were probably going to write that into the play, hopefully Blue Diamond would find it funny. Before you could move on the Sapphire spoke, looking directly at you. “Be warned, there is nothing but imprisonment behind that door. Blue Diamond intends on poofing and bubbling you for your failure with your mission. The court has dispersed and she awaits within.” You drop the notebook in surprise and stare back at the Sapphire. Your heart sank, you knew she was right, of course she was right, she was a Sapphire! Before you could say anything else she began to walk away, her purpose for being here complete. For a moment you considering running, leaving the palace and escaping Homeworld to go Stars know where. But you know it would all be in vain, the Sapphire has foreseen it, it had to happen one way or another, and as you saw it you might as well do it, face the consequences of your mistake instead of running away. You pick up your notebook and walk toward the massive set of doors, preparing yourself for the darkness beyond.
Marble Pearl fic, Part Two: Romae Margarita
Everything was so beautiful, the frescoes and scenes on the walls and pillars, admittedly it was all smaller but at the same time it was all so.. inspired. For a moment Marble Pearl thought if she deserved to be in such a world, she was a Gem and a Pearl at that. She should be beside her owner, doing some menial or worthless task, not here in the face of freedom and beauty. Before she could do much more thinking, or anything for that matter, she was interrupted by the sound of shuffling feet and the edge of a sword poking the tip of her nose. She was terrified but ultimately she never moved (countless centuries of being a Pearl greatly assisted her in that department), only looking down the length of the sword and onto the eyes of it’s wielder. The sword itself was decorated, a gold hilt with some engravings both on the handle and the blade itself, but despite it’s decorative appearance it was very much real.. and sharp, just as sharp as her Quartz’ own sword. The wielder of the sword itself was an older male Human, Marble Pearl assumed he was in his late forties who was probably a few inches shorter than her and also wore a very well decorated set of armor with regal red cloth. Had she not be on the end of the business of the man’s sword she would of been admiring the uniform’s design, it was very evident that this person was someone of great importance. Marble Pearl was trembling in fear but the man seemingly didn’t care, only continuing to stare at her with his cold and uncaring eyes, the same eyes she had seen thousands of times before in Homeworld. Suddenly the silence between them was broken by the man, his voice sounding very rough and Marble Pearl genuinely found it hard to listen to even when she was being threatened. “Who in the name of Mars are you, and where did you come from?” Marble was taken aback by the question, the language the man spoke was remarkably similar to the language of one of the Human’s in the Zoo (her Quartz used to frequent the place). Though she had read the translations and did “understand” the language, it was still very new and something she herself had never heard or even spoke before. “I-I..” She started before being interupted. A middle aged woman (Marbke Pearl assumed she was in her thirties) erupted from the temple, shouting for the man with the sword to stop. The man with the sword was quick to turn his head toward the other but still kept his sword up. “Stay your hand you fool! Can’t you see what she is!?” She exclaimed, now standing next to the man. She pointed at Marble Pearl’s features in wonder. “She’s a nymph of Venus! She is a gift from the goddess herself!” She stated. She quickly motioned for Marble Pearl to approach and get into view despite the sword being pointed at her. Marble Pearl reluctantly obliged and she stepped out of the crash and onto the street, feeling the gaze of many around her as she came into view. She cupped her hands together and looked down, allowing the two to examine her. The Woman approached Marble Pearl and the Man reluctantly put his sword away but still kept an eye on the Pearl and the crash. The Woman poked various parts of the Pearl’s body and silently spoke words of praise as she did so, causing Marble Pearl to blush as a result. “General, She is statuesque and practically the perfect woman, there are no imperfections with her form. She has to be a nymph!” The Woman stated while wrapping one of her arms around Marble Pearl. The man sighed and looked toward the other soldiers who had cautiously been standing back. “And what about that.. thing she was in?” The man asked, pointing toward the crashes shuttle. The Woman quickly shot him a judgemental look. “Isn’t it obvious? It’s a chariot of the gods that she rode from the heavens!” She explained looking up to the sky with reverence. The Woman walked toward the temple with Marble Pearl still wrapped in her arm. “Come my heavenly friend, view the temple grounds with me and Venus’ faithful.” Marble was dumbfounded and didn’t speak, but she did nod in response.

Part One: Monotony.
Marble Pearl stood tall beside her Moonstone (the Gem she had served under for countless eons) as they walked down the bland and colorless halls of one of the many facilities that White Diamond had built millennia ago on Homeworld. Although she never showed it or admitted to it, Marble Pearl was repulsed by the blandness and overuse of the architecture of White Diamond’s court, every facility looked almost exactly identical and they all looked just as similar on the inside with their use of “orderly” and boring designs which were fundamentally just lines and nothing else. Of course if the builders for the facility were feeling especially “daring” and “creative” they would add the occasional sphere or square, but they were always White and always placed in the same exact spot in every hall or room. Marble Pearl sometimes wished she had been in any of the other courts, at least their architecture was actually unique and consistently impressive. However, it wasn’t just the White Court’s terrible architecture that bothered her, it was also their general creativity and unwillingness to do literally anything considered unorthodox. They always kept using the same strategies for the same situations over and over again to the point that Marble Pearl had actually made a mental list of responses any of them would make. Unluckily for her, her Moonstone was one of these predictable and bland Gems who was actually consistently doing the same thing every day for countless Eons, and due to this Marble Pearl’s own schedule was consistent with absolutely no deviancies. Marble Pearl felt lucky that she was even able to stay sane for this long doing the same thing over and over again.
Finally Moonstone reached her destination at the end of the depressingly familiar and long Hallway, Marble Pearl walking a few steps in front of her to access the terminal beside the door. She was quick in her actions, swiftly and deftly typing on the terminal and opening the door for Moonstone she waited for her to enter. Marble Pearl followed behind her as she stepped in, a White Emerald sitting down at a desk, visibly disturbed about having to deviate from their precious schedule. “Greetings Moonstone XZ 20891.” The Emerald said in a nonchalant tone. “Greetings Emerald CF 1468921.” Moonstone quickly replied with just as much “enthusiasm”. Marble Pearl quickly took her place beside the door and stood at attention, the Emerald barely paying any attention to her. Moonstone took a seat at the desk and the Emerald began to speak again. “Due to a communications error on your ship you have been called to personally meet with me for your assignment.” The Emerald stated in annoyance, Marble Pearl also wondered who she had shattered for that. Moonstone simply nodded just as Marble Pearl predicted ahead would. “Your being reassigned to assist in the colonization of a new planet of strategic import, you will be given command of many Amethyst units which you will use to clear the planet of all organic life in order to make way for colonization.” The Emerald explained, laying a device down on the desk with a sigh. “This should repair your communications array.. try not to break it again..” Moonstone nodded again, Marble Pearl taking note of the silence she showed the Emerald and the relative swiftness of the meeting. Now they were back into the halls, the bland and disgusting walls that Marble Pearl was unfortunate enough to belong to.
Not much of note happened on their way back to Moonstone’s ship, as expected, and the crew quickly and quietly put the part given by the Emerald into place. Moonstone quickly got on the helm and with a glance at the crew the ship took off into the vastness of space, leaving Homeworld behind. Once they were out of Homeworld’s orbit Moonstone spoke up the crew. “Initiatiate jump to these coordinates.” She typed a series of numbers into the console for the crew to see. Standing beside Moonstone in her Captain’s chair, Marble Pearl saw as the space in front of the ship was replaced with the light of the warp. Everything was silent except for the clicking of buttons, everything was painfully boring despite the great light show that was happening just in front of everyone. Unlike the rest of the Crew, Marble Pearl silently marveled at the sight, smiling as the lights flashed and flowed in interesting and inspiring patterns.
When the ship exited the warp something happened, a massive object which has been traveling in the emptiness of space had crashed into the emerging ship while its shields and defenses were down. The whole crew shook and Marble Pearl was almost thrown in the ground, being saved by the fact that she held on to the chair Moonstone was sitting in. Looking at the alarms Moonstone shouted at the crew. “What in the stars is happening!?” One of the Pilots, a Peridot, quickly spoke up nervously. “We’ve been struck as we were exiting the warp My Radiance!” Moonstone struck her fist against the chair and stood up, pointing to the Pilots and technicians, barking out orders while Marble Pearl continued to stare out the front window, watching as the ship began to plummet into the nearby planet. Pieces of the ship began to break off and bits of the interior had even begun to fall down in the crew, poofing and even shattering one unlucky Ruby. Soon the ship was in orbit of the Planet and being sucked in by its gravity, more parts of the ship falling apart and even a part of the railing was falling right onto Marble Pearl. She let out a yelp and lifted her hands up to defend herself, but it was in vain as she was quickly poofed by the falling railing.
A dim white light shined in the far shadows of the broken hull, the form of Marble Pearl reforming and engulfing the darkness in light. Everything on the ship was dark and broken, some parts of the bridge had even been torn off during its descent and bits of sunlight peered through, but not entirely. Marble Pearl quickly shot glances around the ship, looking for anyone else but to no avail. There was no one left, either being incinerated by the intense heat of re entry or being crushed by the ship. Taking a moment to recollect herself she soon walks toward one of the openings caused by the crash, a beam of sunlight coming out and the outline of.. something out there.
Exiting the ship she was confronted by a crowd of Humans, all wearing various outfits. Some wearing fine togas with red or blue, others in simple robes, and others who wore armor with red cloth (the latter quickly becoming the most numerous of the humans she saw). However, what truly caught her eye was what lie in front of her: A large and great temple made almost completely of marble with beautiful designs of which the Pearl had never even seen before.

New Muse: Pomacea Pearl, in affiliation with @anewhomxtone and the Toxic Court. Image courtesy of the amazing and outstanding @anewhomxtone
Age: 1567 Years.
Physical Description: Pomacea Pearl is a shorter than average Pearl due to her being a Conch Pearl. The coloration of her form is considered to be exotic to most as it both Black and White in a spiral pattern. Her hair is somewhat short and styled to cover her eyes, somewhat similar in a sense to Blue Pearl’s. She wears a somewhat fancy and clean Green Dress with a Yellow Diamond insignia on her chest. Much like other Pearls she is considerably thin and slender with almost no visible muscle. A part of her left ear seems to be gone, whether it be a result of some sort of defect or accident cannot be determinined upon first glance. Her Gem is placed on her back, directly in between the lower tips of her shoulder blades.
Personality: Pomacea Pearl is an anxious and easily frightened Pearl, a result of her Emerald’s wrathful demeanor. She has an intense case of claustrophobia, immediately breaking down when she is in small spaces. She is a very soft spoken Pearl who prefers not to speak, only speaking when she is spoken to. She is a model of servitude, following every order she is given, sometimes even by Gems other than her Emerald.
History: Pomacea Pearl was created on an entirely aquatic planet known for it’s ability to produce Pearls. She was almost immediately sent to be shattered due to her “defective” appearance, the realization that she was a Conch Pearl rather then a regular Pearl saving her life. She was immediately commissioned to serve a recently promoted Emerald Admiral who had impressed Yellow Diamond in some military matter. The Emerald was immediately displeased by her new Pearl, insisting that there had to of been some mistake and she had received the wrong Pearl. Because of this, the Emerald simply placed Pomacea Pearl in her “quarters” which was essentially a small, dark, and bare room in which she was locked in for an indeterminate amount of time. Eventually the Emerald relinquished in attempting to receive a different Pearl, finding all of the bureaucracy and paper work to be infuriating and simply stopped, not even caring if she had the wrong Pearl anymore. Upon her release Pomacea Pearl was immediately sent to do clerical tasks that the Emerald refused to do, stressing that it was a Pearl’s job and not hers. Despite the Emerald’s obvious distaste of Pomacea, she nonetheless made sure she was beside her at all times to show off to underlings or colleagues. There were almost no exceptions to this and Pomacea was nearby even when the Emerald was flown into a rage over the mistake of some crewmember, occasionally becoming a conduit for the Emerald to vent her rage. Any injuries she received where quickly healed upon the order’s of the Emerald who valued the maintenance of her Pearl’s appearance. The Emerald usually blamed Comacea for the injuries she had inflicted and thus punished her by placing her in her “quarters”, and often when Comacea made an error in her clerical work she would be sent into the room, The Emerald quickly catching onto the other’s fear of the room. All of this goes on for centuries until she had made a massive clerical error in which she had missed several important transmissions from Yellow Diamond. The Emerald was utterly furious with her Pearl when she realized what had happened and she immediately ordered her Pearl to be shattered. During this time the Emerald had been refueling on a desolate and apocalyptic planet, meeting with it’s commander, Cinnabar. Cinnabar intervened and offered to take the Emerald’s Pearl instead, whether it had been an act of mercy or the Cinnabar just had a use for the Pearl was unknown. The Emerald reluctantly agreed, reasoning that the Pearl was going to die on the Planet anyway.
