“ yeah. you and tinkerbell, ” she says gently, a small smile on her face, although she laughs when he puffs his chest out pridefully. “ i mean, if i am to believe you are the real deal, ” ALTHOUGH, her tone is teasing, a part of her still doubts him, if just a bit. “ i’m not really sure, actually. my mom might have read it to me as a kid before she… died. but i don’t really remember it. or it being bad, if that’s what you’re wondering. ” the demigod has been talking for so long ( or perhaps it’s just peter’s mere presence that relaxes her a bit ) she’s not as nervous about pretty much flying. anxiety still courses through her veins, Y E S, but it’s lessened. “ actually… no. i trust you and it’s more of… i don’t want to die? i guess? that sounds really dumb when i say it aloud. ignore me. ”
“ah, yes. tinkerbell.” he wrinkles his nose slightly at the mention of the fairy but doesn’t go into any further detail. whatever she thinks of him so far is good and he wants to keep it that way. “how can i prove to you that i’m the real deal?” pan questioned, eyes glimmer with amusement. the mention of her mother makes him grow serious for just a moment but he can’t help but be glad that the stories aren’t bad. “i’m sorry about your mother.” he isn’t sure he actually feels bad but he forces himself to put genuine emotion into the words. “i won’t let you die, love. i promise.” winking at her, he quickly continues, “and i never break my promises.”
