LAVERNE POWELL was an actress. One of many reoccurring faces in Sander Cohen’s plays. While recognizableshe had yet to gain any lead roles. But dedicated to her professionthere was always a bit of something inthe characters she played whether they were prominent or not. She was friends with Leonard’s wife Ida. This friendship lasted for years and began in the most simple way: bothwomen were shopping in Fort Frolic. And both wanted the same dress but, Idameekly insisted it brought Laverne’s features out more. Young Simon, withaspirations to become an actor, admired her and often sought ‘advice.’ The relations between Leonard and Laverne’s husband however, were less thanideal. The men could hold friendly greetings and engage in conversation on whatever– but politics inevitably appeared. In the long run, the men’s tension effected their wives relationship. For whileIda pretty much believed in AndrewRyan: Laverne was not Pro-Ryan. Nor was she pro-Atlas. Instead, she believed inSofia Lamb’s ideas. Ida and Laverne’s broken bond went unresolved as itwas Laverne who abruptly cut all contact with Ida (as well as any other Pro-Ryan friends she had. It was weighing her down.) Leonard acknowledges that after some point, she ceases to appear on stage. But Laverne was not blacklisted. Nor did she gomissing. She simply quit working for Cohen because she was tired of Ryan Propaganda plus the sickening representation he gave those whofollowed Lamb and Atlas.

Monsters are tragic beings; they are born too tall, too strong, too heavy, they are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy.

utopianorphan:
⏩ She winced at his words, desperate, regret showing in her features. A different, more violent shake began at her ankle as her fearful eyes filled with tears. She was stuck in a checkmate; no escape, nowhere to run. Perhaps it was the blood loss, maybe the shock, but her thoughts were indecipherable, bubbling between her ears. Maddening.
“I… I-I dont want to die..”
AN OLD FRIEND – no, a former friend, once said if Rapture EVER came down to this sort of turmoil, it’s survival of the fittest. Staying alive doesn’t mean you’re a specific gender, specific age: you’re just a person. A person who is either the loser or victor. Perhaps it’s the girl that’s the victor as Leonard stands here with compassion, a weakness. But Leonard doesn’t think of it like that. Each orphan in Rapture pains his heart. And this one - he can only imagine how scared she was.
“Come.” He speaks abruptly.
“You will be coming with me.” If you have enough power to be pointing guns you have enough power to walk. He thinks – but is far too smart to say.
"I understood myself only after I destroyed myself. And only in the process of fixing myself, did I know who I really was."

“In RAPTURE!” She shouts– or comes as close to shouting as Brigid Tenenbaum ever came, the glass clasped in a less than elegant grip slammed down onto the bar top. “After all this years— and he is HERE.”
A hand runs through her hair, tightening at the back of her neck. “In Rapture. Man, years ago– he goes off to Amerika— leaves everything, everyone behind.” She scoffs, her words come out more quickly than she’d like, “Not like he could be going back NOW. Everything is GONE. And he— he was my friend. I thought.”
Her head throbs, and is promptly ignored. “Can’t help but— but wondering how he felt. When he found what happen to his HOME. To the people he left behind. He— he was… would feel… probably nothing.” An unfair statement, but childish anger had come to the surface in the face of far too much liquor.
was it harder to die? or harder to be the one who survived?

‘Characters.’ Bad people. Strange; others spoke well enough of him. Not entirely praising, but not condemning either. “He’s missing. Got a file at Valentine’s- been checking around on the off chance he mentioned where he might be going.” The next place to look would be Vadim’s; it was on her circuit, and hopefully they’d have a key so she wouldn’t need to pick the lock of Earl’s house. For now, though…
“This a pawn shop?” Not something she expected to find in the wastes; still, not absurd. The idea itself was good: barter rather than trade. It made sense.
“As said before.” Leonard begins, “I do not wish bad things on him. I hope he comes home safe and soon.” But when one leads a mischievous life, the unfortunate happens. “Yes, this is a pawn shop.” He comes to mutter for the more desirable topic, “Only one in Commonwealth.” And for that, Leonard feels unique and more importantly proud. “I hear there is another, far away in the West. How good it is? I do not know. Never visited. Is too hot.”
also....let me get real and say that sometimes, SOMETIMES, Adam is a guest muse on this blog. Which is very thread / situation dependent. Does that make this blog multi-muse? Nah not really.
Reblog if I'm allowed to send you in character asks even if we have never talked before.
FO4 verse
He has a pawn shop in Diamond City. It has pretty damn good business going on. He’s the first person on the verge of owning two shops in Diamond City. The other is in messy (but GETTING THERE) progress. Leonard is the only other guy with a Eastern European accent so, he’s believed to be the father of Vadim and Yefim Bobrov, or at least related to them in some kind of way. He’s not. And he hates the association because he sees Vadim as troublesome. Adam is in the Railroad, after memory wipes take place: he helps these ‘down on their luck’ wastelanders find jobs. And always, he employs them at King Pawn. Once Leonard’s second store has reached completion, it is going to be filled with synths. Something happens. Which is either A.) One of the employees get murdered and revealed as a synth. Since Diamond City is uptight and cautious about this sort of thing. B.) Leonard’s oldest son was a synth this whole time which prompted Adam to join the Railroad. C.) Some sort of combination of both things. Anyway, Leonard feels like Adam’s responsible for his synth employee and follows his son outside Diamond City one night.
After some father-son conflict, the old man ends up joining the Railroad.
