But what if I make it so Sophia - my main RT's daughter - will go on and study under Eogunn's watchful eye, just like her mother had to with the help of another magos when she was a teen?
What if Eogunn deems it as some sort of atonement for what happened to Nuncius? What if this young mind, so eager for knowledge, still shows the same scepticism that Nuncius once had? What if he knows that reincarnation is not real, but it's still so easy to start calling Sophia his "esteemed colleague", it's almost uncanny?
What if, when Sophia's parents inevitably perish and she's alone, and grieving, and angry, what if it's Eogunn who helps her deal with the pain? Like her mother once helped him to do?
What is their Origin? Who were they before they became a Rogue Trader?
I did some research into this topic, but I'm still unsure if the backstory I've come up with for Justine works in the Warhammer universe. Then again, WH40K canon has always been full of discrepancies and retcons, so I'm not losing sleep over it. Consider everything below pure headcanon; it's by no means official fact.
So, Justine was an Imperial Navy Officer. Her mother served too, and their family line originally comes from deck crew who earned a title through outstanding merit. After her mother's death, Justine ended up in the Schola Progenium, passed her training, got her commission, and eventually became an Imperial Officer. Thanks to being ambitious and goal-oriented, she climbed the ranks pretty fast to become a Lord-Captain. But then some "incident" happened, and Justine was shipped off (read: banished) to the commercial spacecraft. Eventually, Theodora's people nabbed her right after she tried to grab aĀ Merchant Charter for herself. They hushed the whole thing up in a hurry, and Justine was promptly delivered to a Rogue Trader's spaceship.

Thereās actually no particular reason to be afraid of Justine, but people quickly realize that sheās someone to be wary of. This woman knows how to say (and do) terrible things with the most charming smile on her face.
3. What first impression do strangers get from your OC?
Despite her background, Justine gives the impression of someone who is used to looking down on everyone else - and not everyone believes she joined the Navy as a graduate of the Schola Progenium rather than as an aristocrat's disgraced offspring. She knows how to carry herself, although her manners can be somewhat affected. One might think she's one of those women who's only ever in it for herself, and honestly? That assessment isn't far from the mark.
5. Does your OC have a strict morning routine? If so, what is it?
Oh yes, something along the lines of those movies where the main character is a successful millionaire. Early wakeāup, iceācold shower, physical exercise. Breakfast! And the prayer before that.
And then, for a while, she would stand by the dressing table to apply makeup and sigh about the new wrinkle that had appeared on her face (though it didnāt actually happen).
4. What is your OC like when theyāre sick? Do they try to push through it or are they completely bed-ridden?
Justine is quite attentive to her health and is one of those who carefully follows all the instructions given by her doctor. Everything except for bed rest. Lying in bed all day and doing nothing is absolutely unbearable for her.
6. Are your OCās decisions influenced more by their head or by their heart?
Although the situation obliges Justine to act rationally, her heart influences her final decision on any given matter.
7. Is your OC structured or do they go with the flow?
It's more like "Everything didnāt go according to plan, just as planned" (c)

Pretty affluent as a Rogue Trader, I must say. Schola Progenium managed to introduce Justine to the concept of asceticism - and she no longer wanted anything to do with it.

Justine loves children, but she doesnāt have much practice interacting with themĀ -Ā I mean, when it comes to little ones. Sheās pretty good at finding common ground with teenagers because she has the vibe of that very aunt whoās living her best life.
Furthermore, she feels maternal feelings towards some members of her retinue - Cassia and Kibellah.

Someone who is flexible and elegant. Maybe a swan? anger issues also relatable

Justineās happiest memories are associated with her first husband - and thatās why theyāre rather painful. However, a genuine smile blooms on her lips the moment her fingers touch the piano keys. He was the one who taught her how to play it.

Yes, it happened, but it was more of an exception to the rule than the rule itself. Justine doesnāt like to make promises she canāt keep.

At the very least, her new status as a Rogue Trader turned her life plans upside down ā and even twice over, given Kunradās betrayal.
There were several events in her life that were similar in significance to this one, but it had never happened before that she had to start over from scratch. Justine is not ready to abandon her past, no matter how dark it may be and she doesnāt really want to.

Abelard, with no doubt! He and Justine have a lot in common, including their naval backgrounds and a penchant for iconoclasm (and they're both widowers, btw).
It all starts with one officer's reverence for another, and somehow, mysteriously, it turns into long evenings spent in the company of regicide and amasec. Yep, the unfinished game belonged to Justine and Abelard when Heinrix asked about it in his event.

It's not a clash per se, but Justine has the most misunderstandings with Irliet. Justine believes that she is doing the xenos a great favor by being courteous to her and gets easily irritated because, despite all this, she continues to be looked down upon.
Not a word about Marazhai. He was handed over to the Inquisition shortly after the Commorragh was left behind.
