They arrived at a small, endearing yellow cottage adorned with climbing grapevines that twisted gracefully upwards. Lending an air of playfulness as their lush green leaves framed the windows like delicate curtains. Thick, velvety moss carpeted the edges of the scalloped roof, creating a harmonious blend with the surrounding nature. Bea stepped forward and gently rapped on the short, oblong door to Clementine’s home.
The three shelves in the treehouse’s common area were made of firm but atrophied wood and cluttered with crystals. Bea enjoyed showing off her impressive collection, keeping them on constant display, each mineral emitting a different energy. She had rose quartz hearts that seemed to pulse with affection, petite, pebble-sized stones of white howlite that radiated peace and pointed calcite towers that sparkled in the light. Bea’s favorites were her chunks of raw, uncut carnelian with their vivid orange tones and spherical malachites with their signature swirls of varying greens. She also owned a temperamental crystal ball that glared at her menacingly, deterring her from pondering its secrets. She would not be using it for today’s divination, it was obviously upset with her.
Pippa and Finley, the playful serpents, cascaded down from either side of Bea’s ears, their scales shimmering in the sunlight. They hissed softly in delight. Their sinuous bodies mingled in her wavy bubblegum pink locks in such a way that they formed a whimsical frame around her face.

The cottage was quaint, having been seamlessly integrated into the sturdy trunk of a giant tree. Its wooden exterior, weathered by time, was adorned with climbing vines, while the roof was dressed with leaves that rustled in the breeze. Bea thought finding a tree this massive must have been an arduous task, or perhaps an entirely uncomplicated one.
Taking Ls lately but to be fair I’ve been working. I’m also sure that I’m switching tenses all over the place 🙃

Bea Bumble gently caressed the two vibrant pink snakes that gracefully coiled from her head, a serene sigh escaping her lips as she took in the breathtaking beauty of her garden from the inviting front porch of her new cottage.
The first sentence of my cottage core aesthetic short story to get my mind off of horror mode. It was putting me in an uncomfortable and unpleasant headspace. Also I fear that the first paragraphis the best one i will ever make. I actually don’t have the skill to do that again
Everytime I have a writing session for the first story in the Bumbleverse series I think I’ve written at least 300 words but it is consistently between 170 and 175 words.
