At the risk of being doxxed and possibility taken out by a hitman from the dark web, I still stand by the fact that the hardest thing to believe about Interview With The Vampire is that Louis did not immediately forget anyone else in his entire existence he’d ever been remotely attracted to the second he laid eyes on Armand.
So you just casually met the most beautiful man in the entire world and he likes you back and you’re not immediately becoming companions. Okay, man. Sounds weird. He’s beautiful and cultured and you have really good conversations about philosophy which is something you’ve been looking for. Oh and he’s not unemployed by the way. He actually has a job and he supports the arts.
And I get being seduced by his beauty and overlooking the monster within is sort of Armand’s entire thing. His beauty has been commodified and causes people to not treat him as a fully complex person which is like.. where half of his problems come from. But who said we’re overlooking the monster? “He’s crazy” so you’re telling me he’s unpredictable. He’s exciting. That’s not supposed to be a bonus? I don’t care about the logistics, vampire marriage proposal immediately. I’m locking that shit down as quickly as possible so no one tries to swoop in which if this was being written realistically, there would never be a day the vultures weren’t swarming.
