I'm so fed up of starting a fanfic that actually seems really promising only to be bombarded with the "oh you're 5'6 with curly brown hair and extra skinny and (insert more descriptors here)" shit, like PLEASE JUST WRITE THAT AS AN OC, that is not a reader insert, that is either your self insert which I'd perfectly fine but write it as that, don't have it as a reader, or it is an OC, which AGAIN is FINE, but it is NOT a reader insert. Reader inserts don't describe the specifics of the reader, we aren't your OC or you. Stop describing us. Use vagueness or insert things like (h/l) or (s/c) if you want descriptors in there. Just don't choose how we look.

This is very specific because I started reading a Brahms x reader that was going alright but only ended up having a complete description, the only thing left to decide was your hair colour and your name, everything else was decided for you. Like please don't do that, I don't look like that, not everyone looks like you/your oc.
