I will say put of all the people who have abandoned me in my life the most recent one has been the easiest to deal with. I'm still trying to understand why but there is a spiteful part of me that's proud that someone who hurt me will not effect me for more then a few days. I normally take things much harder and don't get me wrong I'm not perfect but I'm just somewhat happy that it's the least amount of pain.

Drawtober 2021 Amusing Animal Faces: Day 11

There once was a lass that took to sea and with her was her sister. Though one day the two did come apart and hoist flags in their own name. The older sister felt secure that despite the distance no one would come between them. 

She was wrong.

The older sister had been cursed from birth and thus all manner of spirit and demon often haunted her. The younger danced the fairies when she was on land. 

Months often pass with the two unable to speak but the elder never faltered in her love for the younger. What she did not know was that everyone else saw the signs that she couldn't.

The elder one day did write a letter to her younger sister, asking how she was, checking in. The usual. But the letter that returned only brought heartbreak. The younger had abandoned the sea for the faerie realm, she told her elder sister that she never loved her, that she couldn't keep up the lie anymore. And she was gone.

The elder sister hid away in her cabin, only the captain could enter. Her lover and dear friend. He knew what she was going through, he saw the sadness as it set it. He pet her head so gently and yet firm enough to support her. "I'm sorry love" he'd said. But she simply clung to him; she was still in mourning.

She would be ok in time. In the past breaks like this had felt like a stab to her heart. This felt more like a punch. Still painful, but it was a bruise rather than a wound. After all the lass had been through it was at least the silver lining was that she'd healed enough to be bruised rather than broken by this event. Though she mourned the loss now, she accepted it. The letter was blunt that the two were not as in sync as the lass had thought. And though her heart throbbed she knew in her soul that it was meant to happen. So she accepted it. Made peace with it and simply mourned what once was.

Thankfully this little lass had a whole crew now, and she wasn't facing this storm alone.
