Can’t stop thinking about how Stark protected Fern from slamming into the tree and Fern immediately returning the favour to casting the magical barrier against the monster’s next attack (the butterflies!) and then casting the mana consuming complete spherical barrier to protect Stark from Frieren’s spell.
Did Frieren’s OP-ed spell require a full spherical barrier? Probably, but we don’t know for sure. All I know is our best girl was not taking any chances when protecting her man😌

The thing about reading orv as a parent is how heartbreaking Dokja’s relationship with Yi Su Gyeong is. Su Gyeong clearly loved him so painfully much. She is the reason he is a reader. A part of him born from the shared activity that she carefully encouraged and cultivated in him (which I realised now that these shared stolen moments can be everything). There is no Dokja, the reader, without Su Gyeong.
Her telling him after the abusive piece of shit of a father died that they get to re-read the book again was absolutely heart wrenching and hopeful. Then to watch their relationship all go to hell after that? I struggled with it. Because I so badly wanted them to work through the trauma together. Even Dokja said that he could have endured all the media attention and the bullying better if she shared with him what she was going through or had in mind.
I do not want to discount the horrors Su Gyeong went through. I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been and I am in no position to judge how she coped with the aftermath of the incident (goodness knows communication can be so difficult) but gosh, how I wish they got their happy cathartic reconciliation😢
Finished reading ORV and am not sure what to do with my life now. What do you mean I’m supposed to go about my day like my brain chemistry has not been fundamentally altered???

i encourage you to go to your favourite writer's ao3 page and comment on an older fic, because i can assure you that it will make their day. It can mean so much to see your work doesn't disappear into the void to be never seen again after a day of people interacting with it. Just, if you have the time, go comment on an older work

AO3 is an archive, not social media. It's not 'creepy' or 'weird' to comment on an AO3 author's older fics.
It's no different than going into a library and working your way through your favourite trad-published author's back catalogue of books.
As an AO3 author, seeing a comment on a fic that dropped off the front pages of a tag search months (or even years) ago is like thinking everyone has forgotten your birthday and then walking into your house to find a surprise party waiting for you.
Someone went through and kudos’d 25 or so fics of mine, and they didn’t leave a comment so I have no idea what they were reading or who it was. But I’m still so very grateful to them!!! Thank you, mystery reader!
