"taylor swift is the best lyricist of our generation" has always been a really odd and telling statement to me because like. have you just never listened to any other genre of music ever.
not to say you can't have poetic or well-crafted lyrics in pop but if you were to ask me for examples of great lyricism i would look to rap (where the lyrics/wordplay are the forefront of most songs) or even like alternative/indie (known for a lot of experimentation & symbolism in the music). or even older country for its story-telling. or punk for it's political messaging and satire. etc etc you get the point
do y’all remember when someone tried to get taylor swift to denounce the kkk because the kkk was ACTIVELY EMBRACING HER and instead of denouncing them, she tried to sue the person who asked her to denounce them and proceeded to get called out by the aclu?

Don't you sweat it, baby
this is how it felt listening to ruin the friendship for the first time
interesting things are happening in the toxic yuri universe
yeah to ppl who have anything nice to say about "actually romantic" that's a song dissing on a south asian woman using lesbianism as an insult because she... *checks notes* implied that taylor swift is one of the people who make her feel insecure? are you guys sure you want to defend this?
