You and all the assholes who follow you, who don't even dare to show their faces, since they hide behind anonymity, that's already pathetic, the only thing you do is wish that a baby would die, and it wasn't even born. You want a pregnant woman to be abandoned by her partner, you want the worst to happen to your supposed favorite actor. The worst thing is that I think that you are capable of harming the baby, when it is born, or harming her... Sebastian has to put a restraining order against you.
You all noticed how the show showed Grace as the only true Mrs. Shelby. They showed us an entire episode of the wedding, and Tommy called only Grace, Mrs. Shelby. The other marriage, they didn't even show us scenes or photos of the wedding, as if it had been something that happened without importance, and Tommy showed us how he sees that marriage and her, as property. But he never treated her as his true partner, as his equal, that's why he never called her Mrs. Shelby.
Tommy only saw Grace as his true wife. And the fact he kept his wedding ring with her, and even changed the room, as if the room with her was sacred and no other woman is going to stain it. Surely he wouldn't let anyone in.
Also that Tommy ordered the maids to watch Lizzie and tell him what she does, as if she were a stranger in the house, or a guest. But it's not really Lizzie's house. It's Grace's house. He left a giant portrait of Grace so Lizzie and everyone would know that the house belongs to his real wife. And it makes sense, since it was Grace who helped Tommy between S2 and S3, there is a big change there, as for the company, everyone is richer, and it was with Grace that he managed to level up. She made him better.
In S5 he is mentally worse, and it is Grace he is looking for, not Lizzie. At the end of S5, after Polly quits, he phones everyone except Lizzie, he didn't even have her on his mind. If Grace had been alive, she would have been the first one he would have called.
And in S6, Tommy talks to Polly's spirit, and sits under Grace's portrait, when he is sad, he keeps looking for her, to feel better. But he never, at any time, looks for his second wife.
I just hope Grace looks after little Ruby in heaven 𼺠Iâm sure Tommy wouldâve wished Ruby had been hers too. Itâs the way he sees Grace when heâs beside the bonfire and tells her about everything heâs been dealing with, and how it might impact âthe kidsâ. He says it so naturally, like he was envisioning Grace being the mum to Charlie and Ruby in his mind. đŤđŤđŤđŤđŤđŤ
Aww yes, you're right, it seems like he's talking about Grace's kids in that scene. I'm sure Tommy wanted to have several children with her. Love that he never stopped loving her until the end. When they showed that he had a lock of her hair and the wedding ring with her, always with him, it was very emotional. They loved each other too much.
This is the moment when Tommy is listening to the woman IRa sing the song that Grace sang to Tommy in S1. That's why he is like in shock and in the dark listening. Not only has he just buried his daughter, but he is also reminded, by accident of course, that his wife, the only woman he loved, was also dead. Steven Knight really gave Tommy all the pain he could.
This scene right here is the reason lâll never root for âanother mrs shelbyâ⌠this sceneâŚTHIS SCENE tells us everything we need to know about tommyâ and graceâs relationship , his love for her and what she means for him. l will never get over this sceneâŚÂ DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND ME!!!? lâll never fucking GET OVER IT!!! This scene is such a bittersweet momentâŚthe way heâs talking about graceâŚThis is supposed to be a fucking sad story, a sad moment, something depressing but not for him!!! She is dead he knows it, he saw her dyingâŚshe died in his arms several years ago. She shouldnât be in this world he shouldnât be seeing her since sheâs dead, he also knows it. He knows his mind is playing tricks on him but he doesnât care because he gets to see her⌠grace the woman he loves and will always love. The way his face lights up when he says grace was there broke, breaks, and will always break my heart. sheâs been dead for years but sheâs still very much alive in his mindâŚ.YâALL THATâS ON SOULMATES. NOT EVEN DEATH CAN DO THEM PART.
Some things never change, grace dead or alive living rent free in tommyâs head and tommy âcheatingâ on liz. Is it really cheating if you know your man wonât keep it in his pants ?!!! Yepp l saw the prostitute in Tommyâs room whilst he was talking to Lizzie!!!!Â
Grace wasnât really tommy undying love they loved the idea of each other not their real selves after the Russian mess I donât think the marriage would have lasted long
Hey nonnie!!!
I'm afraid I disagree with you !!!!
I could write a whole book to explain why l believe that tommy and grace loved each other but l'm not sure you'd love to read it. The grace and tommy loved the idea of each other and wouldn't have lasted after the russian mess is this fandom' favorite take !!! l don't get that take and l'll never get it nonnie!!! Because it doesn't make sense.
The fandom has been trying to tell me for years that tommy didn't love the only woman he couldn't and still can't get out of his system but was in love with liz a woman he treats like an object he owns.
Grace was tommyâs sun when it rained, the calm to his storm and the only interrupter to the shovels and the picks against the walls...that's why he hasn't been the same since her death.
If tommy can stay married to a woman he doesn't love and doesn't respect then we can assume that he would've stayed married to a woman he loved and respected.
...And saying that they loved the idea of each other and not their real selves also implies that they didn't know each other which is wrong!!!!! Because they knew each other!!! They saw each other good, bad and ugly sides!!!! Grace was the only woman tommy willingly let in...no sorry let me rephrase it, she was the only woman he let in!!! when liz has been begging tommy to ler her in for years.
If you want to come back and explain to me why it wouldn't have worked my ask is open as always. If you want me to explain why tommy and grace loved each other l can do that . Just drop an ask and l'll gladly write that book l mentioned earlier.
I hate that they keep using Grace's breath and show her portrait when something bad is happening to Tommy. It's like SK wants the audience to think that Grace is the bad thoughts in Tommys head. He forgets that Grace is a victim.
Hey nonnie!!!!
But she is though!!! Here's a different perspective. She was the reason the shovels stopped, his happy place, the reason he was happy to be alive...But she died!!!! And his whole life took a completely different turns after that...
Grace's breath, her voice, presence are the embodiment of tommy' internal suffering, she represents the loss of his will to live.... It's a paradoxical situation here. We can say that she was his reason to live and now she's his reason to die...not his mother, not john, not polly but grace. Why's that because that's the only death that made him feel like life offered no excitement anymore and that the only viable alternative is suicide to follow her.
I wanna start off by saying I love your acc đâ¤ď¸ like literally you are what this fandom needs and I just love your insight on everything. Now I do wanna ask, this question is going to be super imaginative but how do you think the series wouldâve played out if Grace never died? Whatâs your ideal âPeaky Blinders rewriteâ from season 3 to the end of the series? I would love to know!
This is sooooo sweeet !!! What did l do to deserve this nonnie thank you !!! thank you <3 !!!
This is an interesting question nonnie!!!!
For starters they couldâve expanded on the tension that was there since season 1 between grace and Polly .It wouldâve been great to see how two of the most important women in Tommyâs life interact and see how he deals with it( them fighting over every fucking decisions  and asking him to take a side wouldâve been hilarious...  ). Grace was a spy and a good one ... she couldâve helped tommy with business even though he didnât want to involve her in it ( during season 3).
Series one gave me the impression that tommy and grace were going to end up like some power couple. The âYou saw me...â Â â we are the sameâ âwould you help me with life, every fucking thingsâ...We couldâve ended up with a mobster and his badass accountant type of dynamic!!
Grace and Charlie would always be a target to hurt Tommy so the writers couldâve gone that route too .
Random but I just love how much of a groomzilla Tommy was during his wedding day with Grace (i admit tho I havenât watched past season 3 so idk how he was with his other wedding) but he wanted everything to be perfect and he got sooooo pissed when the Russians showed upđđ like he just wanted to have his perfect day with his perfect wife and mfers had to come and ruin it
Hey nonnie!!!
He was more stressed out than the bride lmao. He wanted that day to be perfect because he loved grace and thought she deserved the world and wanted to give it to her!!! Tommy and liz marriage did happen off screen nonnie, but seeing how he reacted to l!zzieâs pregnancy announcement and how he treated her in season 5 we can assume that he didn't care that much and that it was a marriage of convenience.
I have this lil âwhat ifâ scenario that if Grace was alive, she definitely wouldâve kicked Tatianaâs ass. Like a true queen, anyone who dares threatens her family will definitely get what they deserve and I mean sheâs killed people with no remorse AND I LOVE THAT FOR HER
Yepp she wouldâve nonnie!!!Â
We could've gotten a powerful dynamic!!! After grace's secret was out in season 1.She told tommy that circumstances put them on opposite sides of the law...but her marrying him and working with him would've changed those circumstances !!!Â
l always thought we were going to get that bonnie and clyde dynamic. He was an outlaw and she knew the law...Like a street smart husband and a law smart wife!!! Can you imagine the power they would've had if they worked together!!!! Â
Hey.. wanted to know your thoughts on the peaky finale. About Grace, Charlie and Arrow house? Tommyâs redemption and final scene? Also any other thoughts about the movie? One great thing was Lizzieđ finally left, should have happened so much more sooner but I am glad it finally happened.
Hey nonnie!!!
l didn't like it !!! that finale fell flat, the story, the characters...unfinished storylines, plot holes everywhere ... the writing wasn't good enough !!! The writers really let us down. Was it GOT bad? no, but we deserved better and Peaky blinders series deserved a better ending. That season finale didn't live up to the ending of the previous season. Why did the writers make this last season all about tommy?!! they took that whole tommy show thing to a whole nother level...I love tommy but l missed the other characters, arthur, finn, linda, johnny dogs, ada, mosley, billy boys...
Can we talk about finn for a minute? The way he was treated ? heâs not my fave but what they did to his character didnât sit right with my spirit !!!! Tommy and arthur cutting him...their baby brother forever from the family was out of character. They should've been the one talking to him... not fucking duke. He is their brother not a fucking stranger !!!
l missed tommy and charlie's conversation because l was on the phone, so l can't really comment on it( l love my baby charlie but l'm trying to forget that season, that's why l haven't and won't rewatch that episode or season).
Tommy blowing up arrow house made sense. That house was his and grace's. It represented their love, their happy moments together, the life they were bluiding together, what he lost and heâll never get back. (Grace is dead and he was going to kill himself, so blowing it up to make way for new homes for the working class of birmingham made sense . That's definitely something grace would've approved). But for lizzie and maybe for charlie that house reminded them of Painful memories so blowing it up was also his way of helping them move on with their lives and fulfilling lizzie's wish from 6x05.
All l will say about grace is that, that last episode reaffirmed what we already knew about tommyâs feelings for her... He didnât forget about her and she was always with him as he said in season 3 and implied in season 5... As l once said even death couldnât stop him from loving her. It did them part but his love for her didnât die with her. Even during what was suppoded to be his last moments of life she was there with him...he made sure of it!!! Before blowing the arrow house he took the lock of graceâs hair he kept, her picture and his wedding band with him. He wanted her to be there with him...
he wanted to be with her in his last moments.Â
Itâs now canon that tommy shelby is a hopeless romantic. He kept a lock of the womanâs he loves hair, he kept his wedding ring and still had her portraits hanging on his house walls several years after her death....that man is a one man woman.
Hii, what is your analysis of Tommy and Lizzie's relationship in S6? Many Lizzie fans say that he forgot about Grace and fell in love with Lizzie, I saw the opposite.
Hey nonnnie!!!
Season 6 tells you everything you need to know about tommyâs love life, and by everything , l mean EVERYTHIIIIIIIING!!!!
Ok, hereâs my opinion below:
1. I want to start by pointed out the fact that, that season 6 has once and for all finally put to the rest the debate on whether or not tommy was in love with lizzie. The fandom has been saying for years that tommy was never in love with grace, but the idea of grace. And that the woman he loved, the one heâs been in love with since the beginning of peaky blinders was lizzie_The fandom claims that he only treated her the way he did, because he loved her and was afraid of his feelings for her ,and thatâs also the reason he wouldnât let her in( And by treated her the way he did, l mean disrespecting her on a regular basis, repeatedly cheating on her as if he was deprived sexually, always putting her last, treating her like a disposable partner or an object he owns )....
News-fucking-flash
this was never a debate ( nor facts, just wishful thinking ) and tommy was never and is not in love with lizzie. Grace was tommyâ love and his chance for happiness, and when she died that chance died with her .
2. This whole season was a reminder, a confirmation and a sum up of everything we already knew about tommyâ and lizzieâ dynamic. A reminder of Lizzieâ unrealistic expectations in her marriage, a further confirmation of tommyâ inability to be a faithful husband to lizzie and give her the love, attention and respect she desperately wanted from him...basically it was a season 5Â sum up with different or subtle nuances and contexts.
3. This season to me is a clear affirmation that tommy was never in love with lizzie, and that he can never give her what sheâs always wanted and expected from him which is his love and undivided attention. He was never home, never there for her when she needed him, he didnât support her emotionally when she needed him most( after rubyâs death), and was constantly cheating on her. He cheated on her several times in season 5, we saw him cheating on her this season with a brunette when he was in Boston, and we also saw him cheating on her with mosleyâ fiancĂŠ, diana... That man cheated on her throughout their marriage. And whyâs that ?! Â
Because thatâs not the woman he really wanted to be with... his heart didnât choose her!!!
Because he settled for lizzie, he sought replacements for the emotional connection he didnât have with her. Mistresses (cheating on her), work, and his favorite thing was spending his time away( trips) ,since he stopped drinking and doing opium...He became addicted to anything that filled the gap within him. And thatâs why he couldnât stop cheating on lizzie, working...Lizzie understandably felt lonely and unhappy in her 7/8 years marriage with tommy, and how could she not ? When she was the only one emotionally invested in their relationship .
4. Tommy realized that lizzie didnât deserve the pain he put her through and learned to respect her. Thatâs why he was nicer and more respectful of her this season than he was in the previous seasons, and why he tried to honor his marriage to some extent. Because sheâs familly and he cares about her, he tried to give her more attention ( but still kept it superficial ), e.g. when lizzie wrapped both of her hands around tommyâs to remind him that she was there and needed his attention too. Lizzie âDo you feel that, do you feel anything? You know you talk, as if youâre watching everything on a screen.â tommy âWhen we go home...when we go home, weâll give the kids to frances , and then you and me will go to bedâ  lizzie  âand Iâll be the next item, everything is on the listâ. In that scene lizzie was again, trying to connect with a physically present but mentally absent tommy.
There are some things tommy did and said to lizzie because he believed thatâs what he was supposed to do and say as her husband, and not because he wanted to do or say those things, thatâs why lizzie called him out on ticking boxes, and why I believe he said the line âin this moment, in this room, I love youâ line. And also , why lizzie herself didnât believe that âlove confessionâ. Â
5. How can you fall in love with someone youâre unwilling to let in? Tommyâs subconcious and whole being categorically refused and still refuse to let lizzie in, several years after he said heâll let her in sometimes. Lizzie in season 5  âand you let me in sometimesâ tommy  â Iâll let you in sometimesâ,  season 6, four years later âyou never let me inâ. In 6X04 , we have tommy once again avoiding emotional connection and keeping lizzie at safe distance when he removed lizzieâs hand from his shoulder,  ânot yet, not yet..â
( and this is a woman heâs known for 16 years...16 years during which they had an off and on ârelationshipâ...16 years and he still wouldnât let her in...not yet, not yet!!!) .
All she wanted was to feel close to him and all he wanted was to be left alone...and this was after their daughterâ death. That man is unwilling to emotionally bond with her, and you canât be in love with a person you canât emotionally connect with. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
As I already said, tommy cared about lizzie, He loved her but wasnât in love with her. He loved her the way he loved his family members.Â
To put it in a nutshell ,
it was a family love and not a romantic love.
Iâm not sure that there has been any point in the show where weâre meant to believe that tommy was falling for lizzieâŚOk, let me rephrase it ...
there hasnât been any point in the show where weâre meant to believe that tommy was falling or fell for lizzie.Â
We lived long enough( and by long enough I mean 6 seasons, 14 years) in tommy' and lizzie's dynamic to know that he was never in love with her and that, the supposed "love confession" was a lie, because it didnât match tommyâs actions and behavior. And lizzie knew it too .  Sheâs known that man for 16 years, So she knows when heâs lying . Thatâs why she called him out on it "you sound like youâre ticking a fucking  box, and I donât konw whatâs inside the box . Never have you let me in. Even though I know the combination to the safeâ.Â
SHE KNEW HE DIDN'T MEAN IT.
NONNIE THE SHOW IS OoooOOOVER!!
And it ended with 1.lizzie finally realizing that tommy wasnât in love with her and that he will never love her like she loves him, 2. her walking away and recognizing that she deserved more than what he could offer.
IT IS CANON THAT TOMMY COULDN'T BE THE HUSBAND SHE DREAMED OF BECAUSE OF HIS EMOTIONAL UNAVAILABILITY.( everything that will happen in the movie is a bonus ).Â
