Falltober 11! I was struggling to come up with something for today’s prompt, but then I thought of a cotton candy/candy floss-colored Soaring Sheep! (with a smol Wooloo cameo in the background)
How would Balan and Lance help a visitor who, while they feel happy for the first time in forever and think it's a good thing, they were afraid of the consequences resulting from it? What would they do with their life? Would they have to leave behind the interests that brought them joy during their unhappy period? How could they become social without the skills to be such? And what if they relapse? How would they cope without their former safety net?
Wow... This was a roller coaster right here. But I'll try my best to answer this.
First of all, who says they had to give up their interests while they were unhappy? It made them feel better, didn't it? If it makes you happy, then continue to do it. Nobody said you had to give up your interests. You were just coping with yourself at the time. Though it had better be a healthy coping mechanism like drawing, writing, humming to yourself, etc. No self-harm here!
Secondly, some people learn social skills more challenging more than others. Whether you're being incredibly shy or just having some sort of social anxiety. One step at a time is what Balan would say. You don't have to pour yourself into the crowd all at once.
As for relapse, yes, it happens sometimes. Some people enter the Balan Theater more than once. And you better believe that Balan will be right there waiting for you to help balance your heart back.
You can't let change slow you down. Sometimes change can be good. Though you may have some rough times in your life, who doesn't, Balan will give you the willpower to keep going. Lance, on the other hand, might slow you down by giving you a place where you'll never be afraid, and nothing will ever change.
What would be balan and Lance's reaction to a visitor who feels like they relate to lance more, and prefers him to help restore their heart? Meaning no offense to balan.
That’s a really good question.
What issues are they possibly having that would make them want Lance instead of Balan? Maybe they’re falsifying their positivity? Is it because they’re acting positive when really they’re just faking a smile? If that’s the case, Lance can help with that.
Lance is the guy you can talk to if you’re needing closure. Based on what I think, negativity is realism. It helps you think about all the angles of a problem before you make a plan. Positivity is willpower that lets you have free will and gives you the guts to try something new.
Lance can help you put your foot down. He’ll tell you when enough is enough and when too much positivity is not good. There is such a thing as toxic positivity after all.
hhhhhhhhh how would Lance react to a visitor who kinda just cries over how cute the Kosokoso Negati (the squirrel-like ones with the blue markings that run from you) are? Like I headcanon every Negati's energy is connected to Lance's so like he receives a distress signal from one and just
shows up to find the visitor snuggling the Kosokoso and kinda sobbing over it
That's pretty extreme for someone to have such a reaction to a negati. Typically, these creatures are made out of fear or resentment. So to have someone jump on them and cuddle them may take them by surprise.
If Lance were to ever see this, he would be both pleased and confused. I mentioned many times that he takes pride in his negati. But to see someone bawling over how adorable it is might make him a little confused.
But hey, if you want more, he'll be happy to provide.
