I hate that Mashima reused the chained Juvia thingy but maybe it is a way of resolving Gray’s trauma on Juvia’s first “death?”

At that time, Juvia had no choice but to hurt herself. However, this time, on the same circumstance, she was able to get free without sacrificing her own life.

Like, gruvia should be no longer chained to that trauma.

Gray needs to realize that while it is okay to prove his strength, he is already strong enough to be with her.

Gray might be her knight in shining armor but she is not just a princess waiting in a tower. Juvia is a force that can knock it down on her own lol.

okay but now i'm thinking about it from the flip side. jude heartfilia, still caught between grief and denial, overhears people talking about how fairy tail is nothing now, and thinking that, as much as it's hypocritical of him, he can't imagine how anyone can say these things about the guild that took in his daughter and gave her a family. lyon, returning from another fruitless search for survivors, hears a remark from someone in lamia scale that searching for them is a waste of time and he has to be pulled off the guy by jura and sherry, blinded by his anger and sorrow. crime sorciere, taking down a dark guild and one of the bad guys for some reason makes a disparaging comment about fairy tail and jellal, ultear and meredy nearly kill him.
