For those of us who have called Pearland home for the past 20+ years and had kids go through Pearland High School it seems like we are all connected to The Evans family in some way or another. This past week, the patriarch, Albert Joe Evans suddenly and tragically passed. Leaving behind him an awesome tribe that needed our help.... In true Pearland fashion, we all came together and raised funds to help this amazing family cover the costs of funeral arrangements. While, we mourn Mr. Evan’s passing, we recognize how this family has impacted this community and what they mean to our culture. Big Mr. Evans has been a part of our lives in many different ways, from wearing the blue and red as a Pearland Patriot’s Little League Football Coach to being around when all of his kids participated in sports as Oilers at Pearland High School.... he was a staple and a pillar in this community and he will be greatly missed. As a testament to his contributions to so many, Pearland came together to help this family when they needed us the most. Big shout out to Ronnie Killen for digging deep and covering a big portion of the funeral arrangement costs.
We want the Evans family to know that we all come together to celebrate this fine man and we pray that you find peace as swiftly as God will allow.
