thinking about pink diamond again ouuuughhhhhghgh

last night I was thinking about the pink diamond that existed in my mind and the fandom's mind before everything was revealed. there were a few months between pink diamond's jungle moon reveal and the reveal that rose was PD where we finally knew what pink looked like and had finally seen what she acted like.

I remember there were theories about what happened to her back around season 2. we saw the diamond insignia with all four diamonds, then in jailbreak we see the era 2 insignia without pink. and pink was at the bottom of the insignia like she ranked lowest, then we saw she only had one planet in her portrait on the moon base. I thought (and saw other theories that assumed) there was something wrong with pink and that's why she was shattered. turns out it was pink herself that saw all the faults in herself and wanted to leave them behind.

#being part of the fandom as it was still airing and watching everything gradually play out was so fun #with theories being proven right etc #m

forgot to post abt it here but I'm so happy we're getting a lars of the stars spinoff! I think there's a lot of potential for fun stories. I hope we get to see rhodonite's backstory (which I absolutely LOVE) and how fluorite's components met. and I've always been a fan of lars ever since I first got into SU around the end of season one so I'm happy to see more of him! I also hope we get to see more of emerald too.

#i can see them still utilizing the whole 'we find out stuff when Steven does' thing #by having lars recounting these adventures to steven #it'd be easy for him to visit since he can just pop through lars' hair #m

Some doodles of my Lapis redesign. As cool as water hair is it’s probably too hard to animate lol. I added another diamond to her already diamond-filled design so there’s a more, like, official place to show which diamond she works under.

I tried to draw my redesign of Lapis in the SU style, too. Eh, I don’t think I did too well.

Idk how we got onto the subject but I introduced my brother to the white diamond AU and he thinks it's pretty cool. it's making me remember just how much I love that AU! tbh I'm never gonna get over the part where Jasper pushed Rose into the destabilizing field and the electric sparks went through her body without poofing her, and then she poofed Jasper with a single touch. GOD.

living rent free in my head is the scene from the white diamond AU where jasper and rose fight. in particular the scene where jasper pushes rose into the destabilizing barrier and rose doesn't poof, but she touches jasper and then jasper poofs. whenever I read updates for that AU I always go back to reread that scene bc it's so good.

I still can't believe that of all the stuff that got leaked for SU, INCLUDING a single pale rose, the pink diamond reveal wasn't rly spoiled. yeah there was a leak of merch w her appearance but I didn't see many connections to Steven being made till after the fact.

I remember this was one of the leaked images! like seriously, if it was around 10 seconds later it would've been HUGE. but it just looks like rose here.
