i just came back from watching the anastasia musical with thquack (shes on here hi quack if u see this) (the musical itself was very good i highly recommend it quartet at the ballet and still / the neva flows are my fav songs personally but tbh i think most of the songs in it are solid)

and naturally because it has a romance (love corner where dimitri and gleb both like anya) i was thinking who in phighting and reader and my immediate thought for gleb was banhammer and dimitri im not as sure about i thought medkit but he already has poto with subspace (fun fact! the actor for gleb in the original anastasia musical cast also played the phantom in west end's production of poto and its official sequel, love never dies! [ramin karimloo]) and i am aware of my own bias to him but i think scythe is also very good for his role so anastasia is banreaderscythe to me

reasoning below (contains spoilers)

scythe as dimitri because he is a sly, charming conman who is initially only bringing anastasia to paris and egging her on into believing she is the grand duchess so he can run away with the reward money but doesnt care about the money by the end. i think scythe fits the clever and witty personality of dimitri, as well as the conman aspect of doing anything for her personal gain (paralleling her loyalty to the church and will to harm others and commit atrocities in its name) and i can also see her gaining a genuine soft spot for anastasia reader as they spend more time together. her tongue is silver but her heart is nowhere close to metal. eventually, her definition of the "greater good" evolves from monetary gain to reuniting you with your aunt, even knowing that once you rightfully reclaim your crown, you can't ever see each other again after. so be it, she came here to do this and she has nobody to blame but her going soft for her silly feelings. you are the grand duchess, and she is a simple street-rat conman. she will only bow to you. she will bow only to you.

banhammer is gleb to me because of his loyalty to his father (windforce in bh's case) and duty as an officer, but also his forbidden desire for anastasia (in bh's case, extends to a forbidden and repressed desire to connect with mortals in general, because he cannot do it due to his status as a demi-deity leading to social alienation by mortals. even worse, what does he do when that desire is a deeper connection, like love?) that leads to the betrayal of these very things. that betrayal of his father also contributes, because banhammer doesnt completely embody his mother. he looks up to her and idolizes her but there is an extent to which he embodies her ideals, and beyond that, he branches off because he walks among mortals. he cares for mortals. he cares for anya. and he cannot kill her because of that

actualyl now that i think about it scythe could make a good gleb too but idk who else would be dimitri dont say medkit Dont .

boss.... how do you write so well........ can i get some tips boss............?

i write like a 12 year old who just found out about the concept of fanfiction

thats how its going to be at the start, dont let it get you down :] nobody starts out anything at a professional level, and it's gonna feel frustrating at times but it'll get better as you do it more! practice, u can only improve by doing!! literally look at my very first work and compare it to my most recent u can see ive improved since then ^^ i hope ^^;

dont force yourself to write if you dont feel like it! this is very hypocritical coming from me LOL but ur writing quality can suffer if ur heart isnt in it or youre not in the mood

reading will help you a lot as well to develop a style you might like more! it'll help you expand your vocabulary and sentence structures. on that topic, vary your sentence structures! short sentences between longer sentences serve as a refreshing pause for readers, cause consecutive strings of sentences that need three commas will feel like a drag to read. dont be afraid of them, theyre ur friend :]

also, your writing will mature with you. thats NOT to say that i think you are a 12 year old, but your writing will change with how you experience life. i dont mean to get deep because im just some roblox selfship blog, but when you experience and take in more of the world, and your beliefs and schema evolve, that spirit is carried in your writing if that makes sense.

more focused on writing, never let length = quality. while description is good, spending too much time on describing everything will feel like a drag to read through, reserve it for something thats actually significant or warrants that level of description. readers can often fill in gaps. this also applies to words, a rich vocabulary is encouraged but dont go injecting ridiculously big sounding words if they dont have a need. ive gotten comments on multiple occasions telling me that, despite my simple vocabulary, and short description, my writing style is nice! ive seen some people also bring in "synonyms for said" into this conversation, you dont need to replace every said with a word thats not said unless its really that important how the dialogue is spoken. i am still guilty of this im ngl HASUDSA

on that note, avoid purple prose i know we're on tumblr, the purple prose palace, but please for the love of god avoid it . if u dont know, purple prose is a style of writing commonly associated with tumblr writers that is overly extravagant and descriptive (ABUSING metaphors, adjectives, adverbs) in an attempt usually to sound more highly literate and its criticized for being disruptive, lacking true substance, and in general sounding Very pretentious and making the writer sound Obviously raised on tumblr

an example i can think off the top of the dome is this image if u ever find urself sounding like the left its okay, its a common misgiving that deep words and metaphors = good and complex but Revise it Immediately

additionally, many good writers focus on the emotional aspect if theyre writing characters. you can be a good describer of the setting or the actions, but what really helps connects the reader to the work is the feelings and mental state. its the cherry on top for your writing!! i still struggle with this and am working on it, so dont feel bad about struggling with it too ^^

and of course, show dont tell! if a character is feeling a certain way, describe the result of it or how they're feeling rather than stating they feel that way

finally, always look to improve. you will constantly come across people who are better, use that as motivation to propel yourself forward in the direction you want to go. the only bad writer is the writer that gives up learning because they dont think they'll get better, whether that's because they think they're too bad or because they think they're the best and can't improve any more

this is jsut me restating some tips ive already mentioned + some new but insightful ones i saw from a tiktok earlier asking how to write more "maturely" LOL definitely look for tips from other people online too! i find twitter has a lot of good tips and i have some bookmarked that i go back to when i feel stuck in writing hehe good luck with your writing journey!! ^^

Thinking about f*rsaken hurts so much because i really reallyyy reallyyyy liked chance so I lowkey just made him one of my oc’s

Any tips on how to seperate him from his original bc im NOT trying to get fucksaken fans on my ass

forsaken genuinely depresses me when i think about it too hard i really wanted to hold out just for the characters but theyre doing fuckall wit dat

id suggest, first of all, outlining what parts you want to keep from the original like what about chance makes you like them so much and take only those traits then either exaggerate or expand on them in a way thats different from his source! for example: if u like his smugness/charismatic traits, maybe lean into it and make them lean more to being a careless jerk. if u like his patheticness, lean into it and rewrite their personality into being clumsy and wet-dog-like but strangely lucky

something that can help a lot too is changing up the design. defining a skin color or hair color and type can definitely help distance u from the typical "hair and skin color fused together" design a lot of roblox characters seem to take #BaldCharactersWhenTheyGetIntoTheHandsOfA12YearOld and i think also changing their hair color from the grey they're associated with will help immensely like nice raven (purple/blue black) or blond will take u a long way

and the outfit too, you can definitely get away with it more if u switch out the suit for something more unique chance is associated a lot with red, black, and white and switching out the color (and even messing with how its distributed across the design) can help solidly separate your design from forsakens black and white is fine but the red might be better left to an accent alongside a different color

if it helps, this is cassidy's "gambler" skin from overwatch if you still want to keep that gambler aesthetic but arent sure how to rehash it

red dead also has some characters wearing similar outfits in the gambling minigame, you can lean more into this look and it'll look different from chance's basic suit
