r. june 2nd

June second was definitely a day made for eighth grade fun! The trip to Sentosa definitely wasn’t what I imagined it was in seventh grade – getting to go to Universal and hang out with friends – but it was really fun to go to the beach for an entire day!

I ended up being on bus seven (there and back) with Ms. Gach and Ms. Zhang’s homebase, and I’m really happy we didn’t have to sit with our own homebases! It was really fun sitting in the back of the bus with the Asian mafia (some of it), Morgan, Emily, Emi, Friyana, and Zhirou! 

I really wanted to go swimming, but almost instantaneously, the moment I stepped in the water I got stung by a jellyfish. That was the first time I got stung by a jellyfish too, so I was really freaked out! It was kind of comforting (not really) to be stung at the same time as Yo (we were both right next to each other – it was probably the same one) because we both got help from all of our friends.  I got REALLY paranoid after that, and so I really just sat on Annaliese’s picnic blanket with Ben, Sara, Juliet, Angela, Annaliese, and Sanya (unfortunately) after that. We did play a bit of volleyball, and we did attempt to bury Ben! We got a few polaroid pictures with Austin and Morgan too, and there was one of the square squad (me, Ben, Morgan, Annaliese, Anjali) too, even though Anjali didn’t get to be in it!

I wish Anjali was there though, she didn’t really want to go, so she didn’t have to (which is kind of odd knowing Mr. Swarstad who forced her to go to Sanya’s birthday party earlier this year).

r. june 1st

June first wasn’t a day full of too much excitement, however, it was the day of the SAS Eighth Grade Graduation! It may not have been as exciting or important as a high school’s senior graduation, but this day marked our transition into high school, and our descent into maturity and our adult lives and careers.

Graduation wasn’t really a student “fun” day, as it was relatively strict on how students had to act. “Keep a smile on your face, because there’s almost ALWAYS gonna be someone looking at you.” & the several rehearsals on sitting up and down from our seats.

Although, there was a lot of fun! Sitting next to Joy and Taher in the Rachid homebase row was a lot of fun, especially with how Joy and I were “married” to each other. 

The speeches were really funny, especially John’s! Probably because he was the C Side speaker so it was really C Side heavy with lots of jokes the other sides wouldn’t get (which probably happened with the other sides too).
