I was just wondering how you feel about soo won? He's making the country better, yes, but I still think he has a screw loose-he went about getting the throne the wrong way and was ready to kill Yona and hak but now still expects forgiveness???
Ooh interesting topic, thanks for asking!
Well, I don’t feel hate toward him, but I’m quite confused. I do like him though, he can be quite cute and dorky xp
On a serious note, there wasn’t really a “screw-loose” Soo-Won; he made his decisions firmly with thoughts put into them, and these “doing this for a reason” situations were evident throughout the series. His thoughtful actions always contributed to the kingdom, so I don’t exactly see him as a villain.
I have always pondered about just why Soo-Won assassinated Yona’s father, however. I thought his actions were too overboard, but then I remember that he did say, in his defense, that King Il killed his father. Not sure whether this is really true, we’ll just have to see how Kusanagi reveals this. Thus, he wasn’t a full-on villain that just wanted to kill to gain throne; he had a motive. He had his revenge, although I don’t exactly approve of his way of getting revenge.
I wouldn’t really say he was eager to kill Hak and Yona. He would be such a sadist if he just threw away years of friendship and not feel sad to kill them. XD He didn’t exactly tell the guards to kill them either, but it’s always the usage of “seize” and “find” them. As seen in the series, he was genuinely depressed when he heard of the news that they were “dead.”
He doesn’t expect forgiveness either, but instead, accept that they despise him. As seen in the Awa Port Arc, he acknowledged Yona’s desire to murder him, and stated “not yet” since he had duties to perform. I believe he’s more focused on reuniting and reconstructing the kingdom than attempting to receive forgiveness from Yona and Hak. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t care though; he just separates personal and kingdom affairs.
To be honest, I’m quite confused about whether to side with him or not; however Kusanagi is currently pushing me to like him (at least for me). All we could do is wait for Kusanagi’s explanation of this mysterious character!
