just imagine how that would go over at their monthly get together. everyone’s sitting in a circle, drinking their tea like the group of old people they are, and someone asks if they’ve met any new potential candidates.

funny idea: Neal owning and wearing souvenir T-shirts from all the museums he's robbed. Like, on the way in or while scouting or whatever he stops by to pick up a t-shirt from the gift shop, like a trophy of the con.

He wears these T-shirts often.

Peter: oh, you're a fan of the National Gallery in London? When were you there?

Neal: oh yeah, big fan, picked up a few souvenirs.

And then he smiles his cocky smile. Doesn't add details. Doesn't say when.

It infuriates Peter because 'he owns a t-shirt from a museum" is not nearly enough to warrant an investigation, it's not proof of any kind, and Neal just loves taunting peter with it

One thing White Collar gets absolutely right and very few other shows do, is that people React to guns.

The reaction varies, depending on their level of training/comfort with firearms, but there's no cool guy bravado* when someone pulls a gun, especially not from Neal. When he sees a gun he always always always reacts like things just got very serious, this is no longer fun and games.

And you know what? Yes please. It also ups the stakes for us when a character reacts to someone pulling a gun on them, and it's also highly realistic. I just really appreciate it that guns aren't a prop to signify "antagonist" but a weapon that should and does elicit fear.

* except for when Kate pulled a gun on Peter, and even then his reaction was warranted.

There’s a moment on White Collar where Mozzie asks Ellen about what Neal was like as a boy and they tell him about how Neal’s first cons were in the service of getting to school on time without his neglectful mother’s help, and his first successful forgery was a bus pass.

And I thought about this for a bit and realized that bus driver saw a neat, polite elementary-aged boy with a book bag, in a bad neighborhood, on his way to school with a clearly forged bus pass, and decided to let it go.

It wasn’t a successful con at all— it was just someone being kind.

Besides it being extremely cool that they got their own special eclipse, there's also something very funny about the Artemis II astronauts using the cheap disposable cardboard eclipse glasses on their 4 billion dollar moon mission.
