love you barry
weehoo i officially booked my flights to japan 🎉 now comes the scary part (actually planning)
the absolute devastating intimacy of a forehead rest. when you are both just so tired from existing in a world that demands you to be a rigid, functional individual, and you finally collapse into each other and just lean your forehead against theirs, or against their shoulder. it’s the physical equivalent of dropping your shields. it’s saying i am entirely heavy right now, and i am trusting you to bear a piece of that weight. and the most beautiful part is that the other person doesn’t even flinch. they just adjust their stance, tuck you a little closer, and absorb the impact. we were designed to divide the burden of being alive.
The Problem With AI Vigilantism in Fandom
I want to talk about the harm caused by trying to police AI in creative communities, because things are getting really toxic. For the record, I dislike generative AI too. I think it’s built on theft and goes against the point of human expression. But turning online spaces into places where everyone is watched just to catch 'AI users' is hurting marginalized creators. Before you accuse someone based on a gut feeling or an unreliable detector, remember this: What people call AI 'tells' often look a lot like standard ESL writing. Non-native English speakers usually use structured, precise grammar or stick to common transitions because that’s how they learn the language. Accusing someone of using AI just because their writing sounds 'too clean' or 'formulaic' is often just xenophobia. This also hurts neurodivergent or hyper-focused writers. Many writers on the spectrum have their own structured styles, or they can write a lot in a short time. Calling high productivity or a different writing style 'robotic' pushes away the very people who make fan spaces interesting. The 'witch hunt' mindset does real damage. A community can handle a few cases of bad, AI-generated text getting through. What it can’t handle is a place where creators are too scared to post because a few loud voices are ready to attack them over a simple sentence.
AI models are trained on very structured, perfect grammar. So when a real person uses precise words, common transitions like 'Furthermore' or 'It is important to note,' or textbook grammar, detectors often say it’s AI. There’s a real ESL bias: studies show non-native English speakers get falsely accused much more often. Because ESL writers use standard words and sentence structures, detectors often flag their real work as robotic. One Stanford study found that 61% of essays written by international students were wrongly flagged as AI by at least one detector.
I want to end with one last message: stop trying to act like a digital cop. If you don’t like something, just move on. Unless someone openly says they used Gen AI, forcing people to defend themselves in public is ruining the spaces we’re trying to protect.

zeno chib for a friend
It is really funny how much some tumblr users build their understanding of what is taboo in a degenerate immoral fashion vs what is taboo in a subversive radical fashion exclusively on aesthetic appeal so they’re willing to drastically alter their moral stances based on what media they’re obsessing over currently

Random question which has ultimately been playing me...
Who does Rosemary Winter live with growing up after re8?
Like I know we all joke about it being Chris but also at the beginning of the dlc she talks with Chris' team mate (admittedly mother Miranda) but says "I hope it's not about Chris wanting me to join his operation" suggesting not the first time Chris has brought it up but also that the others in his squad likely know and also do the same thing. It just doesn't seem like it would be brought up this way if she was under Chris' care. Also the note you find in the house says "I'm gonna give Chris a hug next time I see him." Suggesting she see him occasionally not constantly like she would if she was under his care.
It's also stated that she doesn't live with her mom either or at least not when she's older since the note says she was taught by her but later she says she hasn't seen her in ages which could mean she was taken out of her care at some point. Its also talked about Chris having to talk to the school about the mold which seems like something Mia should have been able to do but could suggest Mia became more absent over the years. It would be unsurprising since she would have to cope with Ethan's death and raise Rose.
Its possible she's under government care like Sherry was but didn't they learn their lesson after Simmons was given guardianship of Sherry and turned out evil. Also she seems to be in school something that doesn't seem like the government would want to do since she could be classified as a bioweapon and shows signs of it. She seems free to go places and not really any combat training which compared to Sherry's upbringing with the government suggests she's also not with the government.
So it's likely Mia and she just left at some point but also is there any like more definitive proof?
I was thinking about this recently as well, and went through all the old interviews with the developers to figure out her exact situation.
Rose definitely lived with her mom for most of her life. I actually think she was still living with Mia when Chris advocated for her to go to/stay in school - I think Chris, rather than Mia, going to speak to the teachers is more indicative of him vouching for Rose's BOW nature as an official authority in the field, rather than Mia being out of the picture.
Now there isn't a whole lot more in the interviews (here is a summary of everything for reference), but the most relevant bits are that Rose was separated from Mia on purpose - it's not specified by who, and that she has no formal combat training. (Chris and HWS gave her really basic instructions on how to use a gun, but the director stresses that Rose isn't used to being around guns because she's meant to play like an ordinary 16 year old girl.)
