I will periodically update the progress amounts. As the goals are met, I’ll mark them as funded and change the colors from green to pink to make it clear. I’m also tagging the ones that could use more attention with red.
Been hearing a lot about “reparations” lately? Well, this is one way to start working towards that, since those in power certainly won’t.

doesn’t matter where you came from. matters what you choose to be. good omens tells us that story from crowley, who’s forced from love to darkness and who chooses to love anyway. good omens tells us that story from aziraphale, who tries so hard to be what his family wants him to be and in the end finds the courage to stand up to them and be what he really is. good omens tells us that story from adam, who is born for a single purpose and yet chooses another one. it’s about chosen family, literally for adam, more figuratively for crowley and aziraphale. it’s about having two sides in all of us, and choosing to act with love, for ourselves and for each other and for the earth. with all the bad going on in the world today, the reminder that we have the choice in how we engage with all of it is huge and important and one we should not take lightly
Select additional comments:
@nycutopia reply : Two sides, and in the middle, the whole common ground with others.
So here’s something I don’t get.
If you’re going to lie to Heaven about your fraternizing, and you know for a fact that there are extensive records of exactly what went down, why wouldn’t you get rid of the evidence first before going and acting all suspicious? We know from the book Aziraphale is smart. And also very sneaky. Seems a terrible oversight to me.
I don’t think he can. I think the Earth Observation Files are the all seeing eye of God. I think the surveillance is potentially constant — the ‘camera’ is always on, everywhere, always running— but no one is at the other end watching. So Aziraphale (and we) are under constant potential surveillance but mostly none at all. Aziraphale releases I think that no one is actually watching, the surveillance is only potential. And then he thinks nothing more of it.
Select additional comments:
@aethelflaedladyofmercia reply: My guess is that either:
The surveillance is constant, but passive. The images can only be found when you search for them. You have to know what you’re looking for, and you may have to do it manually. Or:
The camera could be looking in at any moment, but you never know which moment. Maybe it’s once every two hundred years. Maybe it’s for a month straight. Anything suspicious noticed at the time is flagged, and can be gathered when it’s time for a crackdown. Or possibly:
A combination of the two, camera could be on you at any moment, you don’t know when. The camera itself may or may not be monitored at any particular moment. Everything it sees is recorded forever and can be accessed at a later date.
And I think it’s very likely Aziraphale doesn’t know which method Heaven employs, another level of uncertainty (though I lean towards the first or possibly the third).
The best thing to do to avoid getting caught?
Never look suspicious on camera. Don’t make direct eye contact in public meetings. Always have an excuse why you just happened to both be there. If it’s an algorithm looking for certain behaviors, try and avoid them.
Assume you’re being recorded at all times.
Never do anything that would make your superiors go back for a closer look. Act normal in meetings. Smile. Lie. Apparently you’re getting away with it, but never let the act fall.
His level of commitment to these rules rises and falls. Pre-arrangement Aziraphale doesn’t seem to be trying to hide their meetings. Just bumping into someone. Casual chat. Nothing to worry about. During the arrangement it varies; at the Globe he’s being cautious, but not quite as cautious as he should. At St James’s Park before the argument, he’s putting on a very good impression of not noticing who is next to him (until he reads the note).
Hmm, I was going to comment that Aziraphale’s level of vigilance probably wavers depending on how safe he feels.
But then I looked at the images again. I can’t pinpoint exactly which part of the conversation the 11 Years Ago picture is, but the one on the far left seems to be right when they start arguing in earnest, and the Globe one is from when they’re swinging back and forth between talking about business and the play.
I wonder if there’s something about that moment of transition that makes them slightly more likely to be noticed? Because Michael only found a few still images, not video of the whole conversation. Did Aziraphale do something at those points to draw a camera’s attention? Or did his exact thought at that moment get the image flagged and stored? 🤔
My brain is now going three different ways. I have no conclusion.
@n-jil reply: I kind of always assumed the pictures were taken from humans’ memories. When Crowley makes a big deal about who or what has ears, I took that to mean Heaven/Hell could potentially watch earth from the eyes of a mortal, possibly one who ended up in that place after death. None of the pictures are of Aziraphale and Crowley when they were alone together, it’s all from when they were definitely being seen by other humans.
aethelflaedladyofmercia reply: On the one hand, “walls have ears” is a figure of speech meaning “anyone could be listening.” And Crowley, noticing the lack of walls, wavers off on a tangent in a very ADHD way. “Walls…there are no walls…trees…no that sounds weird…ducks? Does that make sense? Do ducks even…?”
On the other hand, the idea that Heaven can pull a memory from any human is very cool. So the moments Michael finds are moments that stuck in the minds of humans nearby.
Seeing two men argue passionately in the park. Being one of the few people at the Globe that day and noticing two men talking to the writer and the actor. But not the Bastille, because no one was there to witness it. Not Rome, because friendly as they were acting, they didn’t stick out from the crowd in a way people would notice.
And there’s no way to erase them, because they don’t exist as physical files until Michael goes to retrieve them.
Yeah, I like this idea.
I wanna talk about the difference between Crowley’s reaction to Aziraphale describing his actions as “kind” in 1942, and his reaction to Aziraphale calling him “nice” on their way to see Sister Mary. It’s been bugging me since I first watched the show. Why are his reactions so drastically different? Aziraphale is expressing pretty much the exact same sentiment in both instances, but in one Crowley’s reaction is just to simply shrug it off, and in the other, he gets extremely frustrated and slams Aziraphale into a wall to yell at him.
Something must’ve happened between 1942 and the present, that changed Crowley’s reaction to Aziraphale calling him nice. I mean, something had to have happened, for Crowley to go from shrugging off “kind” and flipping out over “nice”–there has to be a reason.
And, assuming the show didn’t hide anything from the audience, there’s really just one major thing that happened that changed their relationship: “You go to fast for me, Crowley.”
“You go too fast for me,” is simultaneously the moment Aziraphale rejects Crowley, and the moment that Crowley realizes that Aziraphale has romantic feelings for him. It isn’t simply Aziraphale saying he doesn’t feel the same. It’s Aziraphale saying that he does feel the same, that he loves Crowley, but that he’s still afraid, still stuck on the fact that they’re supposed to be enemies, that it’s against the rules.
Essentially: I love you, but you’re a demon, so we can’t be together, yet. Or possibly ever.
So, Crowley is now acutely aware how Aziraphale feels, but also that Aziraphale’s love for him doesn’t outweigh his fear, or his ingrained belief in the righteousness of heaven. It doesn’t matter how kind or nice or good Crowley is, Crowley is still a demon, and they’re still “enemies” technically. They can’t be together.
I think, from Crowley’s perspective, when Aziraphale calls him “nice” it’s a bit of an emotional slap in the face. It’s not just Aziraphale teasing Crowley to get a rise out of him, it’s Aziraphale (probably unknowingly) poking at the very wounds he’s inflicted. He’s reminding Crowley that, yes, he does see good in Crowley and care about Crowley. But it’s not enough.
Crowley angrily reminds Aziraphale that he’s a demon, and that he’s not nice, and it’s as if he’s saying “you’re not allowed to say I’m nice! isn’t the whole reason you turned me down because I’m a demon? Because I’m evil?”
At the end of the show, Aziraphale calls Crowley nice again, and this time Crowley responds by calling Aziraphale a bastard, in the most loving way possible. It doesn’t bother Crowley to be called nice this time, because now they’re on their own side, Aziraphale isn’t holding back anymore, isn’t afraid anymore, and Crowley isn’t going too fast anymore.
I thought it was more in reference to the context of the situation.
The first time he’s essentially killing off some Nazis to save Aziraphale. He’s literally only there to save Aziraphale and get out. Which he just so happens to do by killing everyone but them via bombing. And that is kind of him. To find out Aziraphale is in trouble and rush to save him. He did a good thing and he knows it but is fine with it because it was for Aziraphale.
But the second time, he’s blatantly being demonic by giving people real guns to unknowingly kill each other with. He’s causing chaos and all that. But he doesn’t want to actually kill anyone so he asked sure they don’t stay dead. And Aziraphale says that he’s being nice. He’s trying to do actual demonic work (albeit just for kicks as opposed to meeting a quota or something) and Aziraphale, an angel, is saying he’s being nice. That was probably insulting. While Crowley isn’t exactly your typical demon he still is in fact a demon. And demons aren’t supposed to do nice things. He wasn’t trying to be nice. He was trying to be demonic.
Tl;dr: Crowley was purposely doing something nice the first time (for Aziraphale) and the second time he was trying to make trouble, not be nice.
This is definitely possible!
The thing about this, though, is the book version of the scene. I’m not sure if you’ve read the book or not, but Aziraphale calling Crowley nice is in the book, and Crowley’s reaction in the book is completely different. It’s closer to his reaction in the nazi church scene. I believe his exact words are “All right, all right. Tell the whole blessed world, why don’t you?” He’s exasperated, yes, but he doesn’t deny that he’s nice. Crowley likes to keep up a demonic image, but he I think he actually rather dislikes being demonic. The gun fight looks evil and demonic, at first glance, but really isn’t, because Crowley truly has no desire to harm anyone. Not seriously, at least.
So why change that scene for the show? Show!Crowley dislikes his demonic duties just as much as book!Crowley does. He doesn’t say “hail satan” when he meets with Hastur and Ligur, the “evil” things he does are no more than minor inconveniences, he still takes credit for things he had nothing to do with, and half the point of the Agreement is to shirk his demonic responsibilities.
Well, in the book, none of those flashbacks from episode three are there, and there is far less emotional baggage between Crowley and Aziraphale. The show really focuses on their relationship, because as Neil Gaiman said, there needed to be a narrative center. That’s the only thing that changes (that’s relevant to this scene), from page to screen.
So, anyways, tl;dr, that’s totally possible, but it doesn’t square with my personal view of Crowley for various reasons. But like Neil Gaiman has said, like, a million times, everyone’s version of the story is valid and real.

@plainblackcanvas56 comment: I think so too. Especially since he explicitely states that “I’m not nice, nice is a four-letter-word” and guess which other word has four letters? Yup, you guessed it, love. So he is literally stating that Aziraphale can’t just admit Crowley is “nice” if he can’t admit that he is in love with him too!
@bold-sartorial-statement reply: He doesn’t call him nice, at the end, though. He calls him good. Which is a whole different kettle of fish, and he wouldn’t have gotten away with it without committing to their side, IMO.
@theniceandaccurategoodomensblog reply: I like this interpretation and I could see it being accurate. But my interpretation was that the difference was the pressure of Armageddon. Crowley is a bit nice/kind/good and he knows it. Yet, once the Aramageddon count down starts both he and Aziraphale flick between desperately finding a way to be themselves or at least delay Aramageddon so they can be themselves for longer and trying to psyche themselves into their upcoming roles of angel and demon. I think Crowley is just in a psyching himself into his role moment and demons cannot be nice…
@istezada reply: I concur with OP.
There is also the fact that, in 1942, he is a Demon-in-Bad-Standing. He has enough wiggle room to do a favor for his friend. He can justify it with the destruction of a church. He can justify it with the fact that being bombed wouldn’t actually kill the angel. Being called “kind” is insulting, but might be the sort of insults that friends trade.
In the former nunnery, he is on thin blessed ice. He lost the Antichrist and didn’t even know it. He has been and is actively consorting with the enemy. He has been and is deliberately working to thwart The Plan. There is no wiggle room. He is not nice. He cannot be nice. He is a traitor to everything he has left (except the angel, who doesn’t want him). And if Hell hears an angel call him nice…
The angel who doesn’t want him calls him “nice” and Crowley explodes. He is not nice. He cannot be nice. He could never be nice enough for the angel. He’s too nice for Hell. He is alone and insulted and scared.
@fluffmugger reply: Crowley has been living in active fear since at least the 1800′s. At least. To the point where he’s actively searching out weaponry that could kill him so easily he needs full hazmat gear to handle it. He’s gone from “yeah nah they won’t notice let’s just lie and say we did it” to “No, don’t tell anyone” (Bastille) to “They will come for me. They will come for me and I will need to kill them.”
The “easy” solution of course is to simply not consort with Aziraphale. He’s not willing to do that. He knows the cost for this will be his existence and he is still not willing to give Aziraphale up. By the time of the antichrist he’s so paranoid he actually (and quite probably for the first time) physically intimidates Aziraphale over the utterance of a single word. He’s terrified of being found out, and he’s terrified of the punishment that will ensue.
Post apocalypse? The secret is out. The bridges are burned. He does not have a single shit left to give. They have come for him, they have come for Aziraphale and they have failed. His worst nightmare has come true and he has lived through it. So call him nice. He doesn’t care. He no longer has to pretend the lie.
@falloutboyrocksmysocks reply: This is not just headcanon, I am now taking this as absolute truth and fact.
Also, taking all this into account, it makes me think of the way Aziraphale continues looking at Crowley, just for a moment, when Sister Mary Loquacious interrupts them.
In my mind, at that moment, with that look Aziraphale realised, or at least started to realise why Crowley had gotten so upset and reacted that way to him calling him nice.
But of course with the worry and panic at trying to stop the apocalypse, they didn’t get to talk about it or acknowledge it properly.
Basically, I could talk about these two all day, and it still wouldn’t be enough to cover and analyse even a tenth of the feelings and thoughts I have about these two.
@but-the-library-of-alexandria reply: #the comment also makes me think: it’s all the more frustrating that aziraphale’s fear holds him back #when crowley is equally if not more certain of the danger he’s in #and yet despite his fear he’s willing to fight back #while aziraphale is far more willing to give in
I added these tags but I also wanted to add: I’m not sure the sentiment is entirely the same - in 1941 aziraphale is being super sincere, the romantic music kind of reinforces that this is heartfelt moment. but in 2019, it comes across a bit more like he’s teasing him - it’s more of a throwaway comment and it kind of stings more that he’s being so flippant about something that’s such a real problem for crowley - in their relationship and in terms of his personal danger - than it did when it was heartfelt. not to mention it would be frustrating that he hadn’t realised any of this, or wasn’t taking things as seriously as crowley.
then during the ending, ‘nice’ comes across a little teasing, but now that’s okay because it’s not a problem anymore

aziraphale’s dramatics over the ruination of his coat is met ONLY by crowley’s dramatics in leaning in to very gently blow the stain away. aziraphale could’ve done it himself. crowley could’ve just snapped his fingers or even less. but!! look. aziraphale has JUST been overwhelmed to speechless by a feeling of love, huge, pervasive love, and what does he do? doe eyes and a ‘oh whatever SHALL i do’ which is a long game he’s been playing for centuries, and crowley!! MEETS HIM!! does not just save the coat but leans in and blows very gently over aziraphale’s shoulder, and this does not get enough play, but if you watch him do this, the blue lifts from aziraphale’s shoulder at the same time the red paint lifts from crowley’s chest. crowley’s shirt is gaping open and he takes the shot not just to the chest but all the way down to the skin, right after aziraphale has basically said, don’t you feel that, it feels like love, and crowley says “what do you mean,” as if he can’t feel it. then aziraphale puts on all this show, and as crowley blows over aziraphale, you can see his figurative heart (it’s even black and red, instead of just the red paint we see before) blowing toward aziraphale too.
image from THIS gifset, credit @azirasphales
it’s a display as much as aziraphale’s plea was, and aziraphale actually is a little taken aback and very pleased by how much of a reciprocation it is. so really, aziraphale did this deliberately not just to get crowley to do something nice but also so that he could be like “yeah, THAT, that’s what i mean by it feels like love” and so crowley could be like “yeah i know what THAT feels like, i just don’t feel it here.” aziraphale has been finding ways to confess himself for decades without actually saying the words and putting it all on the line - see 1967, where aziraphale is willing to act to save crowley but can’t take it to the next step - and crowley knows that and plays along with this very long game of charades because what else do you do! what else do you do but to lean in and blow gently over his shoulder to save his favourite coat so that he can remind you and you can remind him that yes, even without words, this is love.
then you turn around and have the “deep down you’re nice”/“I’m not nice” which is imo a product of crowley’s terror that aziraphale might actually Say something in a place where hell has been known to have a presence, which will get them both into deep trouble (see: 1605, 1862) coupled with an elaborate ritual which allows him to touch aziraphale, in a display in which aziraphale is so unafraid and understanding that a third-person can identify it as an intimate moment and not an actual fight. that’s all then reinforced by the next scene of high domesticity when they hit anathema, followed by crowley watching aziraphale eat, and then it’s disturbed when aziraphale finds the book in crowley’s car and ultimately completely thrown over by aziraphale’s choosing heaven over crowley and the breakup at the bandstand. aziraphale says “it’s over.” he’s not just talking about the flouncing about on earth. he means them. “i don’t even like you” and crowley says “you do,” because crowley knows it and they’re out of time to be playing these games, but aziraphale breaks up with him instead of capitulating. it’s excrutiating. i can’t believe they’ve done this.
and this i’ve said before but it follows directly so i’m just going to repeat it. the bandstand break-up is the culmination of the struggle aziraphale has been undergoing really since eden, where aziraphale’s faith and loyalty to heaven and to crowley really butt up against one another. they both know, but they can’t say, because aziraphale is an angel and crowley is a demon and aziraphale doesn’t want to fall, even though he can see that there are things wrong in heaven. and crowley gets that. that’s why it’s so important that tv crowley has this whole extra narrative re: falling, because that’s what gives him the patience and understanding to wait for aziraphale endlessly - right up until the end when they’re out of time, when crowley tries to force a “me or heaven” decision, and aziraphale isn’t ready for it. once aziraphale speaks to the metatron though, he sees that his loyalty has been misplaced. heaven won’t be what he wants it to be, and he’s messed up. he reaches immediately for crowley. the scene at the bar is an apology and a plea for forgiveness through action, and crowley grants it without hesitation. “wherever you are, i’ll come to you, where are you.”
tl;dr they are in love and they both know it. they know it.
Select additional comments:
@owlfindmydream reply: isn’t this evidence for Aziraphale’s 2 fix (I’ll play to your likes for love) and Crowley’s 3 fix (I don’t ever get love, I’ll impress you instead).
So let’s talk about The Wall Scene.
But to understand the true significance of what it means, we need to begin earlier. A little more than six thousand years earlier, to be precise.
The reason Crowley ends up doing this:
is because Aziraphale says, “you really are quite a nice (person).”
But as we can see from episode three, this isn’t a normal reaction from Crowley when Aziraphale compliments him. For example, after Crowley saves the books from the Blitz and Aziraphale says “that was very kind of you,” Crowley responds with:
See the little smile? After he just did an objectively good deed? And in the Bastille, when Aziraphale thanks him for the rescue?
He’s not angry. He’s startled, because demons aren’t supposed to save angels. But he’s not angry.
So what’s the point?
When Aziraphale calls Crowley nice and ends up pinned against the wall, he was referring to Crowley doing something nice for the humans. In both the Blitz scene and the Bastille scene, Crowley is doing something nice for Aziraphale.
When Crowley says:
What he’s really saying is, “I’m a demon. I’m not supposed to be nice, and I’m definitely not nice to humans.”
When Crowley goes out of his way to do something nice for Aziraphale, he isn’t upset by the praise, because Crowley isn’t going out of his way to be nice to Aziraphale. That’s just what he does.
He only takes offense when it’s suggested that he cares about anything as much as he cares about Aziraphale.
Dolphins. That’s my point.
You know, I see a lot of talk about how calm Aziraphale is while slammed against a wall and how it’s a sign of trust and that he knows Crowley won’t hurt him and that is all totally valid.
But we don’t talk enough about how this is also a sign of trust from Crowley.
Like, do you know how scary it is to have a temper? To walk around not knowing what’s going to set you off, how bad it’s going to be, and whether you’re going to drive away people you care about for good?
It feels like being Bruce Banner. It’s exhausting. And sometimes you don’t have access to your coping skills - in the middle of searching a satanic convent, you can’t just call a time out to go for a quick drive or shout at some plants. So you have to keep that s**t on lock down and it just eats away at you.
In this scene, Crowley is on edge. He’s scared. He’s feeling the guilt from f***ing up and possibly dooming himself, the entire earth, and Aziraphale. And he just did a couple of things that even on their own would get him into serious trouble and instead of just letting it go, Aziraphale keeps harping on it and, worse, calling him nice.
And Crowley loses his temper.
Now there’s been some discussion about what he’s doing, exactly, and different answers come to mind. He’s trying to shut up Aziraphale before he says something some nuns might hear. He’s trying to remind Aziraphale of the roles they have to play. He’s acting up in case he needs an alibi later. He’s reasserting his sense of control over the situation.
Again, all of these are valid, and a person can actually have multiple reasons for doing a single action. We’re complex like that.
But also sometimes you just have to get the emotions out of your system and it’s not going to look pretty.
So he grabs Aziraphale and shoved him against a wall. And this is where the trust comes in.
Crowley trusts Aziraphale not to take it personally. Not to get scared. Not to try to fight him off.
Not to argue back. Not to try and bring it up later.
He also trusts Aziraphale to take him seriously. These are perfectly valid emotions he’s feeling at that moment, and his method of expression might be unhealthy but that doesn’t make what he’s feeling wrong. He trusts Aziraphale not to degrade him, or ignore him, or try to undermine his feelings by interrupting or laughing or saying he looks cute.
(I can explain about rejection sensitive dysphoria if anyone needs it. We generally talk about how it kicks in when someone rejects our feelings of enthusiasm, but having your anger be rejected is painful, too.)
Crowley needs to be angry and Aziraphale lets him be angry. He pays attention even though the rant is a little silly. He lets Crowley push him against the wall and stays still even though he could pick up the demon and dribble him like a basketball. When they get interrupted he still waits for Crowley to signal that the moment is passed rather than shoving the demon away and walking off.
In conclusion, Crowley feels safe being snappy, rude and even angry around Aziraphale and that is a huge act of trust. His temper is as much a part of him as his love and his drunk disaster side. He is comfortable with Aziraphale seeing him not just at his most uncool but at his literal worst, knowing that this has never been a deal breaker for them.
Anyway. I would love to see more fic of Crowley with a temper because being able to fight and make up is an essential part of a healthy relationship, not to mention cathartic to the readers. I’ve already written a few stories with Crowley’s temper, and I plan to do some more.

26-year-old Campbell was shot by Peel police officer at his family's Brampton,Ont., home
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says there is “no basis” to proceed with criminal charges in the death of 26-year-old D'Andre Campbell, who was shot and killed by a Peel Regional Police officer in April while inside his family’s home in Brampton, Ont.
“The director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has determined that there are no reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with Mr. Campbell’s death,” wrote the SIU in a news release issued Monday morning.
The SIU is a civilian oversight body that investigates reports of deaths, serious injury or sexual assault involving police.
Despite its conclusion, the report does outline some issues with the way police acted, including that no attempt was made to verbally calm Campbell — a young Black man who had schizophrenia — during the confrontation.

Hi people! I hate to be doing this but today I came out to my parents as trans and received a reaction that was alot worse than I expected. They’re saying they will kick me out of the house if I don’t “fix” myself. I need to get out of this house and get my own place asap. I applied to a bunch of jobs but it’s gonna take a bit to hear back from them but I need to move out asap. Again I hate asking for this but if anyone can donate (even $1 would help at this point) my paypal is HERE. thank you so much!!
