I know this blog had been like, dead dead for a whole-ass minute, but I wanted to be clear, in case anyone was wondering: Donald Trump is a fascist fuck and white supremacists can all fuck right off too.

Also! I just wanted to say I got to laugh at the fact that one of my comics (from Day 1 where Penelope's giving everyone the same order, idk how to link on mobile) was marked sensitive which I find hilarious, because putting in the same order for everyone is definitely Not Safe for Work! It causes angry customers.

So it's been a minute

Obviously lol

I've been thinking of starting this back up since I got my new job

(Fun fact: the call center I left off at in the comic was a temp job I had in spring 2016. I'm working there again but as a Real Employee™ now so I have lots of frustration to take out in my art. My company is great but my customers are... human.)

Anyway lots of Things have been going on in my life over the last 2 years so this has kind of fallen by the wayside, but I'm gonna actually try to not be terrible and get something done amidst all the adulting I must do.

So how have you and Penelope been lately?

Penelope’s been doing great! Just came out a fast actually, which is always a relief.

It’s been off an on for me though, to be quite honest. I’ve been dealing with doctor stuff (chugging pedialyte as I type this actually) and switching jobs and family stuff, so unfortunately the comic has sort of taken a fall to the wayside at the moment (and the last few months >.>). I do have plans to come back, but that’ll definitely have to be after I’m reliably keeping down solids again at the earliest.

I do still really appreciate you guys for not abandoning me! I hope to be back in commission and making things again sometime soon <3

Hey guys, no new comic right now (shocking, I know). I just wanted to give a little update on the blog. Been dealing with some stuff (and art block like whoa. the newest comic has been like, three panels of a rough draft for a month).

Anyway, I’m gonna be on hiatus for a little while. I just lost my dad yesterday, so I’m not really in the mood for art rn. Dunno when I’ll be back, but hopefully soonish. Still feel free to send asks and stuff though, I love talking with ya’ll, just not up to creating.

Have you owned any reptiles before your current snake?

I did briefly have a teeny tiny turtle that a friend had caught in his pond and given to me when I was little. She was rehomed with another friend about two years later because we had to move into a tiny apartment and couldn’t bring her with us. I used to go to my aunt and uncle’s house a lot though, and he always had corn snakes*** (south florida, corn snakes are everywhere), so I got used to handling snakes by hanging out with his. Reptiles are sort of like potato chips though, can’t have just one, so shortly after getting Penelope I went to the annual reptile expo with some friends with full intentions of bringing home nothing more than a larger tank, and brought home my little striped corn Marmalade instead!

Then in January my roommate and I decided to get pet rats. Found out that no store in our area sold pet rats anymore. Got a lovely pair of leopard geckos instead.

***note: please do not collect snakes from the wild for use as pets, even calm ones. This was late 90′s/early 00′s and my family is mostly made of rednecks and country folk who do not make the brightest decisions :/

In other news, I’ve been playing Pokemon Go pretty much constantly when I’m not at work for the last week. I’ve talked to more strangers in the last week than I have the entire year I’ve lived in this city.

I’ve also been stopped by cops twice while fighting gyms at night with my friends (I took a selfie with the second cop).

So much walking.

So much pokemoning.

So many eggs to hatch.

My legs are so sore :(

So how is everything going?

Getting better! I’m better at my job this month, hitting my stride with rules and QA’s and whatnot. Finally starting to get used to being gone from 7-6 most days, so my sleep schedule is better. I think I’ve almost managed to work through the art block that’s kept me from posting for the last forever and an age. Hopefully there’ll be more comic soon!

Alsooooo I’m a little hyped because it looks like I’ll be able to get back home to see my parents this Christmas (at that point it’ll have been a year and a half since I’ve seen them), so that’s awesome.

I remember a few years ago when I worked in retail for work experience, I got fired for being "too emotionless". Um, sorry? TBH, retail wasn't really for me. Hope to get a ball python after I graduate from college

Honestly, retail is soul crushing and thankless, I think I’d be a little scared to meet the person that’s made for retail. Good on ya though for making it out and into college!
