Life is quite literally all about enjoying amazing food and seeing little silly films. Releasing as much art from your mind into the real world as possible. Building community in spite of individualism. Passing along kindness to strangers. Finishing off the day with a delectable ice cream or a novelty beverage of some kind. Oh and ignoring your notifications.
STOP the "grimdark muddy and grey medievalism film about a white dude doing some bullshit" industrial complex. WHERE is the Questing Beast WHERE are the cool women WHERE are the people of color WHERE is the fun and whimsy and fantastical
not naming names but some of you are so creative and talented it's an honor to have you in my phone
âthe mind of a medieval person was foreign and incomprehensibleâ factoid is false. the average medieval person was pretty normal. the chivalric death cult, whose members were known to literally die if prevented from riding to war, was an outlier and should not have been counted
On hearing of Anjouâs death, a tailor of Orleans named Guillaume le Jupponnier, when âovercome with wine,â burst into a tirade in which can be heard the rarely recorded voice of his class. âWhat did he go there for, this Duke of Anjou, down there where he went? He has pillaged and robbed and carried off money to Italy in order to conquer another land. He is dead and damned, and the King St. Louis too, like the others. Filth, filth of a King and a King! We have no King but God. Do you think they got honestly what they have? They tax me and re-tax me and it hurts them that they canât have everything we own. Why should they take from me what I earn with my needle? I would rather the King and all kings were dead than that my son should be hurt in his little finger.â

I went looking for more information on Guillarme le Jupponier, and found this article, which points to a slew of similar speeches in European and US history-- and, crucially, the fact that Guillarme le Jupponier was released after that speech, not tortured or executed, because it was acknowledged that his sentiments were extremely common.
Studying nearly 1,100 rebellions in France, the Low Countries and Italy stretching back to 1200 the historian Samuel Cohn discovered that instead of hat-in-hand deference, âgenuine, heartfelt hatred for a king or queen is easy to find.â
can we pause on that? 1100 rebellions?!?
was tagged by the lovely @shivunin - life has been frankly absurd this year (in between working like 3 jobs and several family health crises) and I got much less written than I would have hoped for, but these three stories have been steadily adding up words in the docs, and I would like to finish them at some point this summer. feel free to ask any questions about these or the other things I've got on the back burner? đŤś
Which WIP should I work on next?
viago depression roadtrip extravaganza aka - give me to the road ch 4
epic elven divorce ft. hobbits - over hill moor and changing ch 6

Iâd like to point out that this kitten is trying to entice the dog into wrestling. As it would with other kittens/cats. That feinting and then leaping back sideways? Thatâs an invitation to tackle. Other kittens would understand this body language.
This dog does not understand which is probably for the best, because this kitten clearly does not understand the concept of âweight classâ
@moniquill you are correct. The little void is asking the cloud to play. The cloud does understand the request, however, he is considering how to play with such a tiny void without squishing it. But the tiny void has too much bouncy so the fluffiest of good clouds doesnât have time to make a decision - if you see that little step after the yawn is an attempt at play - however the cloudâs paw is too big so power and pressure need to be adjusted. Big conundrum for the cloud.
truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if sheâs sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if sheâs perhaps worried sheâs a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and thatâs enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said sheâs here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then sheâll make another one. I said âisnât it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?â and she just looked at me funny and said âwhat do you mean? The whole world was here, waitingâ. Some people, I tell you.

for a household so swagless, its actually incredible the crown managed to get so far into debt during robert's reign. like. how was aerys able to budget all that wildfire, rhaegar's ruby related expenses and several tourneys while tripping balls on his own unbalanced brain chemistry but robert and cersei managed to waste it all on. alcohol i guess??
new headcanon, jon gets his beets counting talents from his grandpa aerys. born to be accountants, forced to go into management
Aerys right there like, "How much for a wildfire gallon? Will it roar like a dragon? Will it make these skeletons in my throne room dance for me? You're doubling the amount at that price, and throwing in some fruit shaped jars to boot, understand?"

"Wedding customs were said to change, at first in Attolian temples and later in the Peninsula whole, after Attolia's wedding to the would-be Annux. Some speculate that is why, to this day, only brides carry candles and fresh flowers during wedding processions, not only to light the way forward, but perhaps because Attolia's own husband did not have two hands to hold his own, as bridegrooms were shown to in earlier depictions. Speculation on this topic has been widely spread, ever since the discovery of a portrait reportedly depicting Attolia's second wedding in a recent dig of the palace ruins in the capital."
