creekgate 2k15 is so insane to me bc when i tell you ive been hyperfixated on south park since TWENTY TEN (2010) im not lying. there was a whole community of people on deviantart who made really elaborate cringey ocs, ocs ask accounts, roleplayers, south eater, the era of anime-ish south park fanart, YOURE GETTING OLD/ASS BURGERS DROPPED, to this day i still remember these days with nostalgia it was litchrally so crazy and i met so many people.. then around 2013-2014 i moved onto other stuff but still sort of kept up w it (i still knew about stick of truth and while i did not engage w fandom back then/didnt play the game when it came out i still reblogged some fanart), but from afar. then by late 2014 i was officially out of the loop and had moved onto other interests, sp was no more for me

so imagine me. its october 29, 2015, as im scrolling through my tumblr dash i see it: the infamous creek breakup scene. i was confused, baffled, speechless, what the fuck is this i said as i cringed and laughed at what was essentially a fanfic-esque scenario played out in an actual south park episode. of course i looked into it immediately and find out that not only did matt and trey just made a ship i had liked since i was TWELVE canon, but that the internet itself had collapsed bc of it. south park was still very much alive (and totally changed! imagine my surprise), people never went away. i was appalled, theres people that STILL like south park? thats a thing thats real? so of course like neuron activation in my brain, a switch turned back on and here we are now. 7 years later and im still drawing south park fanart. and its all thanks to creek. we’ve all been through the ups and downs, the highs and lows. and we’re all still here on this website. am i mad that i wasnt There when the whole creek thing went down? absolutely, i wish i couldve experienced the chaos that ensued. creek went from a beloved niche crackship to actually being canon. and it still is
