Something to think about. Being able to stay home with your newborn, to bond with your child, should NOT be a luxury but a necessity for a mother, for a father, for any new parent.

A parent, especially a mother who just gave birth shouldn’t have to worry about going back to work a mere 45 days after their baby is earthside. They shouldn’t have to worry about their job security, let alone their income being decreased.

I didn’t and haven’t needed to worry about this because I’m fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom but for those who do, I feel for you.

I always forget about my poor tumblr 😂 if people want to add me anywhere else they should let me know, I have a few of you on Instagram already. Thursday was my sons first birthday! Today we are having his party 😍 dinosaur themed 🤗🤗🤗 On Thursday we had his 12m check up and vaccinations (the nurses all spoke about how mean I was, getting him needles on his birthday 😂) and we also had my 12w pregnancy check up, got to hear a strong little heart pumping away in there ❤️❤️❤️ So we announced on social media and it all seems a lot more real!!

🌸ways to support pregnant women/new mothers🌸

🌸 stop telling us we will change our minds about things. do you know how undermining and rude that is? telling us our pregnancy plans or parenting ideals will change is SO deeply hurtful. stop. the number one reason we go back on our plans is because of people undermining us. even if we don’t tell you openly that you’ve hurt us, we will remember it and always be wary of you afterward

🌸 if we have certain rules, follow them. don’t think that just because you’re close to us you can get away with things that others can’t. it hurts more when someone close to us ignores our birth plan or house rules. If you’re a close friend or family member then you’re the person who needs to be helping others understand our rules, not helping undermine them

🌸it’s none of your business, remember that. you don’t have the right to question our reasoning for certain decisions because it’s not your birth and not your baby. your job is to make us feel accepted, so don’t ask questions unless you’re truly coming from a place where you want to understand and expand your knowledge

🌸if you visit our house soon after birth please have a reason other than seeing our baby…like helping. bring a frozen meal or breast pads or diapers etc but also keep to reasonable boundaries, some people don’t like others in their space so please don’t start cleaning unless you ask us first. and don’t expect to hold our baby for extended periods of time (or at all) because they are not toys and they need their mother more than anything.

🌸think before you speak. we are so incredibly fragile throughout our postpartum period. we need to feel empowered, loved, understood - not judged. only offer advice if we ask for it or you can truly see we need help, and if we state that we disagree or think something else will work: LISTEN

🌸if our baby cries hand them back immediately unless stated otherwise

We got a new pram with a second seat attachment and capsule attachment 😍 So I had my scan the other week, realised I never said anything in follow up here, I am due late January, my cycle said I was 12 weeks (but I was only just off contraception and I am breast feeding so it's not been regular) when really I was only 6 weeks, but it seemed healthy and had a cute little heart flickering away ☺️ I'll have my next scan when I'm 20 weeks and hopefully find out if it's a boy or girl growing in there And yeah that's a sponge my kids holding he loves it 🤗🤗 ignore the mess, we're moving 🙃

Thinking of using this with my Facebook announcement 😊 I have a scan on Friday, I'm still breastfeeding on demand and the contraceptions I was put on after Isaac was born really stuffed my cycles up, so I don't actually know how far along I am, but we think we are right at the end of the 1st trimester already 😬 If that's right, there will only be 17 months between Isaac and the next one 😳 So excited though!
