This would actually be such an incredible solution and it could have some amaaazing real world impacts. Fiction and media shift our perceptions big time. And they could do that on the right side of history moving forward.

from the very first time they see him, even though the nurses tell them he’s a big baby, jake and amy agree that he’s the tiniest thing they’ve ever seen and held.
they’re allowed to go home but amy prefers to spend mac’s first night at the hospital just to be safe after quite a whirlwind of a birth. Jake just wants amy to be happy and comfortable so he of course agrees.
After feeding Mac and handing him over to Jake for burp-duty, even though she fights not to Amy dozes off which leaves Jake to have his first one-on-one moment with his son. Here he rests the infant in his lap allowing him to take every single incredible limb and feature in. Jake smiles as he plays with the tiny feet and not so discreetly tears up when his son grabs his index finger before falling asleep with a tight hold on it. Jake whispers “I love you so much, little buddy” through a shaky smile.
Flash forward they’re one month into parenthood and everything is a beautiful, chaotic mess. Each day is a blessing, even the rough ones and there truly is nothing better than doing anything and nothing as long as it’s with Mac: changing Mac’s diaper, feeding Mac, watch Amy feeding Mac, cooing at Mac, dancing with Mac as he lies hopeless in their arms gazing confused at whatever parent is dancing him around the room (either it’s Jake to Taylor Swift or Amy to 90s dance hits).
Jake and Amy are a great team and dividing the work between them comes naturally. Either way they’re exhausted but they can’t help but love finding the other asleep on the couch with their soon asleep stomach down on their chest. It’s truly the littlest things that make them tear up or smile these days.
God, do they upgrade their cloud so hard because their baby deserves a billion pics and videos. Anything from pictures from Mac’s first hours at the hospital to videos of him smiling or laughing for the first time is saved like a treasure.
Jake adds a picture of Amy holding and looking at a giggly Mac to both his work desk collection and to his wallet (like a real dad, he proudly tells Amy when he shows her his new fold out leather wallet with room for pictures). That way they’re always there with him <3
when Jake is home alone with Mac and has to do chores he puts his bebe in his new favorite gadget: the baby carrier. There’s nothing better than doing laundry when you can do it while having your son strapped to your chest and make funny faces at him. When Amy comes home he can proudly say “Me and Mac did the laundry today” to which Amy will smile, coo a thank you at her son before kissing him and then her husband. A laundry-doing husband is a sexy husband, Jake will come to know later that night.
