Taking a long shot and posting this since I haven't seen anyone talk about it. Which is weird...
A Russian-developed game, "Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes" is planned to release on Steam on the 24th of March. A "real-time strategy game" portraying the 2022 Russian invasion in Ukraine as heroic and "brilliant".
It is beyond sickening to make a game glorifying war crimes that are still happening today, despite that everyone seems to have forgotten about them. I urge everyone reading this to report the game on Steam as "Defamatory" or "Legal Violation" (Suggested reasons: Hate speech and discrimination against Ukrainians, fascist Russian propaganda, manipulation of historical facts), and at the very least reblog this post to reach more people
"if things fall apart, his family could do anything to me" / "if you say so. but to hear the word "protective" come out of your mouth is quite unusual"
how are we feeling after today's ep folks. I'm totally fine, absolutely normal.
Finally finished my merman drawing after what feels like months. I thought I'll make a nice fast render for this one but the idea got out of hand real quick.
But it was all worth it for this gorgeous lighting.
Please exsqueeze me, because i finished this like a month ago but got obsessed with Love in the Moonlight & ABO Desire...
MMP was one of those shows i wasn't excited about at all. After watching the teaser during the GMMTV 2025 event i thought that i will of course watch it (it's JimmySea after all) but the premise is kind of wild and not in the way i like. Well, let me humbly take those words back, because for me it became one of the shows of the year.
In and Thap were like a sip of nice cold water after a drought of shows with terribly written characters and/or their relationships. This is a very well written series that knows what it wants to show and how exactly to show it. The focus was always on the right things, everything served the development of the characters (who were amazingly compelling btw) and their relationships. The whole plot with attempted murders was also good as a backdrop for the romance.
I especially liked that the characters were allowed to make mistakes, even if those hurt the people they cared about. All the conflicts and arguments were well written and beautifully acted. Jimmy and Sea were absolutely perfect in their roles as their imperfect characters.
I also want to mention the conflict with Thap's ex as well as his father. I usually hate it when they throw exes into a show just to add conflict in the final episodes, but I actually liked it here. It made sense with In and his issues, and the final conversation between Thap and his ex, where they both have a chance to talk things out and understand each other's point of view, was clearly important for both of them, but especially for Thap as a character.
And of course special thanks for the father who actually analyzed and admitted his mistakes and understood how they affected Thap. A parent being held accountable for what they did? In my GMMTV BL? Shocking.
Overall it was a very well written show and I loved every second of it. Possibly one of the best written shows in terms of character development and relationship progression that I have seen. Truly perfect, no notes.
And yes, I locked in so hard I forgot to take screenshots while watching, so all i can give you is the poster... 🙏

I don't know where to even begin with this show because when it was good it was really good, but when it was bad it was really... infuriating. Sometimes everything was so well written you can't look away and then other times everything was so annoying i wanted to bang my head against the wall.
Character development and relationship development suffered the most from this. I just didn't feel what the show was telling me i should feel. Mainly because it was easy to see how Yo changes thanks to Jom and how his feelings for Jom also change (for the most part), but Jom... I waited and waited for something to finally start with him, but it never really happened. And because of the lack of this mutual change their relationship at the end felt a bit lacking and some of Jom's actions towards Yo simply cruel.
Why such a high rating then? Well, for the middle and all the subplots. I really liked those, especially how well they were woven into the main plot as tools for character development, not just fun events to keep people watching. They were sometimes funny, sometimes tense or sad but always interesting and relevant. As for the romance itself i would give it only a 4/10.
But i always rate shows based on whether i had fun watching them. And this time the answer was — yeah, i did. And of course i was super excited to see Saint in a BL again, so ngl maybe his cute face contributed to my enjoyment of the show 🤫

A high ranking from me but not because of the romance.
Came here not knowing what i was getting myself into, and the show really pleasantly surprised me. I had zero expectations and got an interesting and well written plot about politics, crimes and "behind the scenes" intrigues. It was clear the creators knew what story they wanted to tell and they did it well, with intriguing characters, who were quite compelling.
But at the same time, the romance ended up being a bit like a caterpillar that never became a butterfly — there was simply not enough time. Especially the main couple really lacked development necessary to make me believe that leap between how everything started and the devotion they displayed at the end, to make me believe in their feelings. In the end the characters were more interesting to me on their own rather than in pairs.
This didn't stop me from really enjoying each episode, so i really can't take away a lot of points, i liked the plot too much.
There was nothing for me to seriously dislike. The series didn't become my favorite either. But sometimes you just want something solidly good, not every series can (or should) be something life changing and extraordinary. It didn't change me on a fundamental level or on any level at all, but it wasn't going to. It was here to be enjoyed and i enjoyed it.
Overall i recommend it if you're not here for a well-written romance, but just to chill with a wonderfully made crime story.

A typical highschool romcom. Not My School President, but it didn't try to be, for which it has my respect.
It's a story that I would love to see maybe 5 years ago, when it was still relevant for me. Now, sadly, almost didn't tug at my heartstrings. But I'm happy that others who need it have it now.
My main issues with it were probably already typical for GMMTV: parents and lack of relationship development — chemistry, if you will.
As per usual, we had interesting set-ups for conflicts with parents, but all of them were quickly either resolved (Shane), or forgotten after an unsatisfying resolution (Mon), or simply made a full turnaround, because we don't have time for any of this stuff (Kit).
But the storyline with Shane's siblings made me disappointed the most. At the start, they were a very important part of both the plot itself as well as his own life and personality. They fought so hard to stay together, only to be completely forgotten after around the half point of the show. I wanted to see their life together more, how it impacted Shane and made him who he is; even just to see how they console him because he didn't get to study abroad. Instead, we only had a disorganised tangle of couples in whose feelings it was a bit hard to believe.
Good set-up, where it was clear who likes and why, was a bit lost somewhere in the middle, and all development of their feelings and relationships fell apart.
The ending, however, pleasantly surprised with atypical for the genre and GMMTV choices of the characters that felt actually theirs, and not something that they were forced into by the plot.
✨ SPOILERS ✨
Mon and Kim chose a long-distance relationship because of university, and I was pleasantly surprised not only by this, but also by how openly, if still amusingly childishly, they talked about this solution and problems they'll have to deal with later.
Shane and Kit decided to stay together, even though Kit could go to the US. But what I liked was how that decision was shown — not as an opportunity that he loses, but as happiness that he chooses for himself. And he really did choose it for himself, not for Shane and their relationship.

Unexpectedly mature stance for the characters who learned this maturity through 12 cute and emotional episodes.
And of course, the series itself looks absolutely delicious. Recommend it at least for all the colors and costumes.

Lines of thought that seem Normal but are actually rooted in extreme puritanism:
-Seeing the nude human body is inherently traumatic
-Sex scenes in art are pointless
-Wearing kink-related clothing in public is the similar to performing a sex scene in front of unwilling participants
-Depicting female characters expressing sexuality is always degrading
-People's sexual fantasies are always an endorsement of the behavior they want to see in real life
-Sex work is more traumatic and coercive than other types of work
The goal is to treat sex as just another thing people do. That is a much healthier attitude than hiding it! It's not uniquely traumatic, it's not weird to talk about it or include it in society.
Honestly, this kind of puritanism is also something i, as a writer, often see in writing circles. @perelith and me literally talked about this yesterday.
The attitude of "sex is fine as long as it serves the plot" is common. But why are we so adamant to take it as gospel without question? What does it mean for something to serve the plot? Is it really as clearcut as we make it seem? What is plot even and why does everything have to be subservient to it?
Whether or not something serves the plot is way more subjective than people sometimes make it out to be. After all subjectivity is the beauty of storytelling. But we often get uncomfortable with it, hunting for easier black and white answers. But it's not that simple, not universal, not true to every story of every genre.
A story in a nutshell is a series of actions the characters are doing. If sex is what they're currently doing why should i shy away from its depiction? Sometimes the characters just want to have sex and there is nothing wrong with that.
It doesn't have to be that complicated of a topic.
Hi, i'm Nestor/Alan, an MLM Ukrainian writer, an avid BL watcher and a stubborn asshole, according to some.
I don't like to limit myself with a particular genre and mostly write queer literary fiction, which often revolves around romantic relationships and sometimes murder. Among those i like to explore the themes of shame, guilt, forgiveness and second chances. My characters are more than imperfect and they don't always get better but they're trying their best and that's what matters.
