“Genshin is one of the most successful gacha games in terms of revenue, but when it comes to player satisfaction, it is by no means up to par with other games. All other gacha games, Honkai: Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, etc., give an average of 120+ FREE pulls per patch, however, Genshin is only going to give 57 free pulls next patch?? And that’s IF you can fully clear endgame, which most f2p players no longer can due to the endgames NEEDING every new character, and having mechanisms blocked behind 5 star characters, which forces players to pull for characters that they don’t even enjoy. If we aren’t not even given enough pulls to reach soft pity, how are we supposed to clear anything? Especially since it should be known by now that the entire world will be facing the effects of a war, meaning that a lot of people will no longer be able to spend money on games anymore. From a business perspective, I don’t understand why Genshin is now trying to market itself to an entirely different playerbase than the one that made it so successful in the first place. Old players, such as myself, have not been satisfied with the game for a while. I have been playing since COVID, I can no longer farm anything, everything is at 100%, exploration, achievements, quests, all of it. I can’t do anything. It typically takes me over a week now to get a full 10 pull, despite logging in daily. I hsve to rely on an alt account just to get the characters that I want, and I shouldn’t have to do that. Why would anyone want to play a game after hearing about these issues? Knowing that after you have been playing for a while, you get stuck and you are no longer able to do anything because you can’t keep up with the games requirements. Not to mention that instead of giving us the updates that we want, for example, a skip dialogue button, we instead got Miliastra. We didn’t ask for Miliastra. The majority of us hate it because it’s a waste of storage and it’s clear that ALL of the budget is going to it instead of the actual game that people love. We have noticed the lack of effort put into the “new” events, though truly it’s the same recycled mechanisms over and over, even using a premade texture for past event weapon, slapping some stickers on it and calling it new. Thing is, we wouldn’t mind event reruns if coming up with new events is getting tiring. In fact, we WANT event reruns. Especially since there’s so many story important events that new players can never experience. I just don’t understand it, Genshin is an open world, exploration game, not character creation, not worldbuilding, not tabletop strategy. At this point with a little amount of exploration coming out I don’t even think Genshin can be called that anymore. I would no longer recommend this game to anyone. I want to continue to love this game, but it’s so hard. PLEASE, get it together, what you are doing now is killing this game. Make us all of it again, you will lose more than you will gain from this.”
I wrote this survey on my computer and I wasn’t able to screenshot it to get it here so i took pictures and decided to write it out here instead so it could be understood better. Though some parts of my pictures did cut off some parts of what I had actually said so I had to try to remember some parts anyway, smh.
Anyways, I hope that at least some of you found this helpful! Tumblr is the only place I post so this won’t be anywhere else, but I don’t mind people sharing what I said in this post to other medias if wanted!
