And speaking of pronouns, flat-out my favorite part of the LOTR Appendices is when it’s revealed that the Gondorian dialect of the Common Speech differentiates between formal and informal second-person pronouns but the distinction’s been lost in the Hobbit’s dialect, so Pippin’s blithely been using familiar terms of address with the Lord of the City, and thus helps to explain both why the Gondorians are so ready to assume he’s a prince and why Denethor finds him so amusing to have around.

This makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. 

He kept the handle of his cane. It makes me a bit giggly that Voldemort gave it to him after breaking his wand. But then it strikes me; what if he didn’t? What if he just let it fall to the ground and Lucius, desperate to keep his ancestors pride. That cane had been in his family for a thousand years, and he was the to break the chain. He was the one to fail. He is so ashamed, he actually picks it up from the floor. Can you imagine Lucius Malfoy picking anything up from the floor, ever? I can’t. He’s literally crawling on the ground now, he has let go of all of his pride. He just wants a memory to hold onto, a window to the past.

{ I d on’t really mind the amount of ouat in the Hook tag, but s ometimes it makes me sad when Disney Hook is mocked or compared to him for whatever reason [along with other Hook versions too] main one usually being him degraded because o mg colin is soo hot the Hook of my chilhood wasn’t I mean has no one ever seen Jason Isaacs’ Hook? Also Barrie stated he had a handsome countence, and briefly fasinated Wendy with his distinguished air, s o Hook being attractive is not suppose to be a new thing.

I looove Jason Isaacs' Hook. They even had him play Mr. darling like they were supposed to. Like you said, respect for all the characters, but I prefer the characters in their original forms because those are the stories they are meant to be in. They aren't plucked out with certain elements left behind. Like, as mentioned before, Hook is also supposed to be Wendy's father in her real world in England. The ouat Hook doesn't look old enough to have three children (not saying he couldn't have them! He just looks barely an adult himself :'D) Nor does he look like a socially awkward banker. But he is, indeed, nice to look at. Dustin Hoffman had a pretty fantastic Hook, as well! I like that he had the look of the Disney original.
