Because the shadowhunters timeline is fucked up, here is everything that’s happened to Magnus, in the last 2 to 3 months:

Ragnor died

Started dating Alec after crashing his wedding

Sexually assaulted by Camille

Sent Camille to prison

Had sex with Alec

Invited a bunch of shadowhunters into his home to try and win over Maryse

Was body swapped with valentine, by Azazel, his uncle

Was tortured in valentines body

Was forced to relive horrific memories of his mother’s suicide because of this

He and Alec broke up because of the soul sword

Healed a rift, passed out

He got back together with Alec

Lost his position as High Warlock as fall out from his decision to side with the seelies

Alec asked to move in, he said no

Alec and Magnus fought about immortality.

Alec and Magnus fought some more about immortality

Magnus made Lilith the exiler that sealed Jace’s fate, and told Alec he’d die to fix it

Went to asmodeous, gave up his magic, saved Jace and Alec

He was kidnapped by Iris, and tortured and had his brain picked

She also whamied him with her magic

Went to Lorenzo for a magic transfusion, but became homeless as a consequence

Forced to live at the institute with a bunch of shadowhunters who look down on him

Alec asked to move in again, he said yes

Had a seizure and had to be ressusitated

Said he wanted to die without his magic

Gave up his magic, again

Had a breakdown and sobbed into Alec’s shoulder because of all his trauma

I couldn’t ask someone to be able to deal with 2 or 3 of these incidents within a two month time frame, so it’s beyond me how Magnus is (barely) dealing with all of it.
