In honor of the Artemis II mission, I'll tell you all a funny story.

I worked on the Artemis missions for just shy of 3 years. For Artemis I, there was a contest called "Name the Artemis Moonikin Challenge" where our team came up with a bunch of names that the public could vote on that would end up being the name of the Moonikin (a full-bodied manikin) on the Artemis I mission that launched back in 2022.

In the original list of names, I threw in "Sailor Moonikin," and even drew an icon for it. We had a bunch of parody names (Rocket Manikin, Major Tom, to name a couple), but they all (obviously) got shot down by the Powers that Be.

We went back to the drawing board (literally) and tapped the NASA history team for a list of lesser-known NASA figures. Campos ended up being the winner (named after an amazing man named Arturo Campos).

But I still think of what could have been. 😂

hi guys! discord is doing a survey on how people would like ai to be integrated into discord. take it and say fuck no to every question. when you get to "in general, how do you feel about discord inegrating ai features?", respond that you would actively get everyone you know off of discord and wouldn't pay for nitro or other shop items if they added ai features.
