A lot of the criticism of one night only or at least of the trailer focuses on how weird it is to have a rom-com set in such a dystopic setting which i think doesn’t make sense—romance and comedy occur even in horrible circumstances. And I do think that a rom-com about complacent citizens of the dystopia can be a good way of exploring such a setting. I don’t think it landed but I actually think it could have been a good idea
