CAN THIS BE A THING I NEED THIS
YES PLEASE I REALLY NEED THIS TOO
I have this headcanon that Grey Wind is really protective of kids because he grew up around Bran and Rickon so he'd let himself be used as a mount so he can make sure that the kid's alright in such a dangerous world

Wolves don't fear anything [closed]
When the wolf howled, Sephiroth looked up to the sky, his green eyes flashing momentarily. What was he expecting? It was uncertain. However, as soon as the howl had ended, his head lowered again, looking down at the wolf with unblinking eyes. He understood that howl. It was the same feeling of despair that he had felt. Despair he felt no more, but still remembered.
“Humankind betrayed me…no, that is not the correct way to put it. Certainly, I was betrayed, but it was more the very ‘world’ that was truly the victim. The race of traitors was filled with fools, people who cared only for themselves and created a hell where there could have been paradise.”
He spoke seriously now, offering his cold truth to the being before him. Sephiroth nodded at the wolf’s laments, understanding. “The humans have lost their ability to hear. And, upon that loss, they have taken it upon themselves to steal the world away from those who truly deserved to rule over it." The words dripped with wrath, hatred, vengeance. The traitors must all pay.
“It is such a shame. Here…I can hardly hear the hum of the planet anymore. It is so dim.”
——【 ♢ 】 Back home, no human really understood the whispers of the old gods. The Starks came closest, but Robb stopped to listen a good while ago. If Grey Wind could, he'd have talked to his master, made him listen again, for the gods were whispering about his fall. Only the boy was too blind to see. His mother grew up with the Faith, but her time in the North opened her eyes and ears to the real gods. If only she wasn't so stubborn, she could hear the truth.
[The humans are foolish, for they have closed their eyes and ears to the earth.]
It happened seldom that Grey Wind met a human as wise as Sephiroth. Many humans liked to call themselves that, but few truly were. Most of them were too dim-witted to see or too craven to accept the truth. Winter was coming, as his master said. And it was the wrath of the gods, they would purge the earth of their existence, if need be.
[They grow angry at the gods for their own faults and cannot see their own mistakes. They are the cause of their own downfall.]
"There you go…man, you’re a big one…think you’d put any of the pups back home to shame." The hand was extended forwards to run through the wolf’s fur, and the faintest whisper of a smile slipped onto Mercer’s features. "Hah…whoever you belong to is one lucky son of a bitch, to have a big, tough guy like you working with them. I think you’d give some of the Hunters back home a tough time."
——【 ♢ 】 Grey Wind decided that he liked this man. He was friendly and open-hearted, even towards such a dangerous animal like him. It was a nice change, as the direwolf was used to people avoiding him.
[My master Robb, I cannot find him.]
The large direwolf leaned into the hand of the man, urging him on.
[Hunters?]
——【 ♢ 】 Grey Wind was lying in the soft grass, though aware that it didn't smell like that at home. Winterfell had always had this special smell about it, but this..-no, this just wasn't it.
A person approached but Grey Wind stayed on the ground, relaxing under the sun. The person probably wouldn't even dare to get close to him anyway.

"Well shit, I think you’re a touch bigger than the dogs the scientists had in mind when they limited me, but that’s fine." Mercer crouched down, bringing his eye level to the wolfs. He had a bit of a soft spot for animals, given that they were as far as you could get from human. He extended a hand, palm up, towards the beast, trying to look as non-threatening as he could. "…come on, I’m not gonna start shit with you."
——【 ♢ 】 What a weird man. Grey Wind didn't know some of the words he said, but the man seemed to be friendly towards him and in the end, only actions counted. And when the man offered his hand for him to smell, Grey Wind approached on his large paws, leaning forward to smell at the hand.
Most of the smells were unknown to him, but the man didn't have anything menacing about him. Calmly, the direwolf sat down in front of the man and cocked his head, observing him.
“Blood makes you related but loyalty makes you family.”

Good. At least he knew what “stop” meant. Most creatures didn’t, and of course, that included humans. The faunus girl plucked the book out of her lap, making a small fold in the corner to keep her page. She wouldn’t bother with trying to pick up where she started now. Grey Wind was now a minor distraction. And knowing her, she would be bothered by it even though she shouldn’t be.
Wiping her face with the back of her hand, she muttered to herself out of habit. Again her feline ears had reacted to the noises he made, turning her attention to the end of the stairs. Blake hesitated for a moment. How was she to respond to that?
Wolves can keep secrets. . right?
No. She wouldn’t risk it. Blake wasn’t exactly fond of telling strangers what lie behind the bow. Either he would figure it out on his own, or she would have to say something sooner or later. But what facade was she to pull?
”. . You don’t seem to have a problem with that, now do you?”
——【 ♢ 】 The cat-woman seemed to hesitate for a moment before answering. What was she keeping from him? Asking straight-away would be rude, Grey Wind knew that much. But how was he to find out? It wasn't simply that the smell of a cat lingered on her, but she herself smelled like a cat. How was that possible though? Was she hiding a kitten under her clothes? Unlikely.
The woman wasn't a cat though, she was a human. Grey Wind wasn't stupid, he knew the difference. Still, this bugged him quite much. Not in a way that he didn't like that she smelled like a cat, but in a way of interest. He had to know.
[Should I? It is only that I have never met a human that smelled like a cat.]
Big bad wolf? [closed]
Another day, another project. It seems as if she’s been completing project after project, Not that she didn’t enjoy it; painting was her way of life, and was something that couldn’t get old. However, she felt a bit under the weather today, and as she carried her canvas outside to finish it, the mood traveled with her.
Today was a rather important day for her. The man who had much influence in her life, her father, would of had his birthday today. A thought that, though she cherishes, but at the same time, leaves her a bit brokenhearted. Her father was the one that allowed her to pursue her love for art, the one that gave her the very first set of paint brushes that she would later keep for memories’ sake. After he passed, she always made a painting to commemorate the day.
She eventually finds herself in a spot she’s certain no one else is there, she sets up her supplies, and starts to paint before she can’t help but feel that she’s not alone. Stray tears were wiped away before she finds herself turning, bright blue eyes, now glossed with tears, spots what she believes is a wolf. Normally, she’d be backing away right about now; the ones that resided in the city were rather vicious and the last thing she needed was to be bitten again. However, this wolf is different, she notes.
Still, her eyes widen and, backing away slightly, watches him with a slight bit of nervousness, and curiosity. Was he vicious, or was he friendly? He was very close to her, and he didn’t attack her…. yet. Gently, she reaches a delicate hand to him, assuring him that she meant no harm to him. It was a gamble— either she’d lose a hand, or maybe, just maybe… there was more to this wolf than the average.
——【 ♢ 】 Grey Wind finds that the woman is brave to face him, as some knights, squires and pages had reacted like little girls seeing a spider upon seeing him run into battle with Robb on a horse by his side. Admittedly, these circumstances were quite different and he definitely meant no harm to the woman.
Her eyes were red and slightly puffy. Humans tended to cry when they were sad, unlike wolves, who could only howl at their misery. But he knew that it was a sign of sadness. Her tears made her think off Robb and the moment he heard that he lost hos brothers. The King in the North had wept and Grey Wind had howled at his side, weeping for his master's brothers too.
Surprisingly enough, the woman extended a hand, although she'd backed away from him at first. A brave girl indeed. The direwolf sat down where he stood and leaned his muzzle forward, touching his wet nose to her hand. He smelled at her, taking in the scent of the paint.
Slowly, he extended his large tongue and licked at her hand. The tears she'd wiped away were salty on his tongue but he licked them away anyway. Afterwards, he lowered his head and touched the crown of his head to her palm, an invitation to pet him. It was much more a gesture supposed to reassure her than to please him, but he'd take whatever he got.
It's soon to be 11pm and I have school tomorrow. My last week of school before summer vacation uwu. Anyway, I'm gonna go to bed, some replies are queued [3], they'll come out in the next few hours. The others [2] are drafted.
Curious things [closed]
It wasn’t really cold, and she’d been flying around at quite a speed. Like every time she went flying, really, what was the point of taking it slow? That was no fun. But despite being a situation she got herself into on an almost daily basis, it had happened again. She was thirsty and hadn’t brought a drink. So she’d touched down on the streets, wandering until she found something.
What she found instead, was a little surprising.
She turned the corner to face a rather large wolf. Her eyes brightened a little, her mind instantly thinking; Hellhound. But… No, that wasn’t the case here, this one didn’t smell the same… Still, the smile on her face was barely contained, she didn’t see nearly enough animals here.
"Hi!!"
Whether or not this one would be able to comprehend or not didn’t even enter her mind. She did notice him eyeing her control rod a little though.
"This?" She raised and held out the rod slightly. "Bright lights! Big explosion, kills anything!" She grinned. "Do ya wanna see?" She held out her actual hand slightly, as if to pet him. But she wasn’t going to close the distance first. Her wings ruffled slightly in excitement, elements of the chain reaction already starting inside her.
——【 ♢ 】 Grey Wind had never met a person like the girl in front of him just now. First, there was the shiny thing around her right arm, secondly, she had wings and thirdly, they worked. She flew like a bird around in the sky, like a warg might do in a bird's body. Only this girls was flying with her own body.
She talked to him like he was a human pup though. Some humans seemed to think that animals weren't able to understand them, simply because they couldn't understand animals. But that wasn't the case, surprisingly. Animals simply had a bigger understanding of nature because they, unlike humans, still lived with it.
[Like a canon? Show me.]
The girl held out her hand, an admittedly respectful gesture, and let Grey Wind approach her. Slowly, he moved his muzzle to touch her hand, his big wet nose gliding over her skin to take her scent in. She smelled of smoke and fire, but also of fresh air and flowers.
