As widespread lockdowns swept the globe earlier this year in response to the threat of COVID-19, intimacy became fraught. For artist Käthe Butcher, the loss of an embrace or casual peck on the cheek was incredibly difficult. This desire for connection culminated in “A Hug In The Garden,” an emotional rendering of two women holding each other. (Source)

My own autumn journal: I met up with some friends today and we went for a big walk around Nunhead Cemetery, bought plants at the nursery nearby and had a pub roast. This evening some friends we haven’t seen in a while are bringing a board game around for a games night. Sundays are such magic

Tudo Bem? Has anyone ever tried a Pastel de Nata from Portugal? They’re really good and very traditional so if you ever find yourself in Lisbon, go to Fabrica de Nata as they make them fresh right in front of you and they’re to die for! 🧁✨

Also I had to get a copy of The Little Prince in Portuguese - O Principezhino - while I was there, the collection is slowly growing!

This probably has to be my favorite version of The Little Prince book! This Bulgarian version, Малкият Принц, has such beautiful detailed illustrations ✨

Sofia was amazing and I had a wonderful time with @kindofapolyglot​. I didn’t realise how much I missed Eastern Europe and it made me rekindle my love for it. Definitely itching to go back to the Balkans sometime soon 💚🌟
