old sumitaba for an art collab that fell through

Why do people ship sumitaba? I’m not against it, if anything I’m curious about it 👀 is there evidence? Or is it just a fun idea?

Short version, it’s cute.

I personally like the ship because they’re both depressed girls trying to figure out their own identity after losing a person important to them, while they have allot in common they’re very different too. They’re like the jock (sumi being athletic) and the nerd but not in a stereotypical way because they’re both a bit socially anxious teenage girls.

It’s shown really nicely in the scene where they first meet, futaba is socially akward in a way where’s she’s not used to social norms but when with friends she’s super outwardly weird and loud. Sumi is good at being formal and polite but does repress herself, constantly trying not to impose herself. I think they could really compliment eachother in a social dynamic. I find they have allot of potential in being friends, especially because Sumi really needs that.

There’s also the scene in the royal bad end. Futaba pointing out Sumi and her are the same age and she doesn’t need to be called senpai and Sumi saying she still sees futaba that way. It’s cute.

I personally would like to think that Futaba after going back to school would end up in the same class as sumi and they would naturally just become friends, and then it becomes a cute lil highschool romance.

Uhh yea hope that makes sense, I just really enjoy the ship cus I think they’re cute.
