Making friends and bonds online wasnāt usually commonplace for Emi, sure she met people and got along well due to being a little more outgoing thanks to digital freedom, but she still did her best often not to stick out, so not only had be been surprised at making a friend to begin with, but having them stick around for what sheād considered a long timeā¦
Honestly, sheād been freaking out about this sort of meetup, she figured this would be the iceberg that would sink the titanic so to speak, already she had a feeling she wouldnāt meet expectations, but there was the paranoia of messing up, what to wear, dress down or dress up? Sheād driven her sister crazy both asking what to do and put on, and trying to get said sister to not stalk the entire date out of overprotectiveness.
After swallowing close to a hundred time on the walk there, and doing her best to steel herself despite a light nervous shaking, sheād made her approachā¦
āO-oh hiya! Nice to meet you Cassia.ā
Her brain was occupied with all the worrying she almost didnāt catch the greeting, a second to snap herself back from distraction and into a short tangent of apologies before slipping into the opposite chair and playing with her fingers a little.
āUhhh hot works, d-does this place do hot chocolate? Iāve never really been here specifically before umā¦ā
Ā Hearing her stutter made Cassiaās heart flutter; she really was just like she was online. Her blue hair surprisingly fit her frame, and she was so polite.
Ā More than Cassia normally got from dates, that was for sure.

āI⦠Really appreciate you coming out here, I meanā Itās, uh⦠The first time Iāve agreed to date someone online, yāknow?ā
Ā It wasnāt her norm; Cassia had good-enough looks to be able to date without going online. But sheād gotten tired of dating scumbags and drunkards, so sheād kept to herself, found Emil online, andā¦
Ā Well, now they were here, drinking together.Ā
Ā And now she was feeling awkward; just what did she talk about? What did she bring up?
āI, um⦠Meant what I said, online; that I, um⦠Would be happy for us to, yāknowā Um⦠Be a thing.ā
Ā She was fidgeting under her table, fingers clasping the cup hard enough to break it; she wasnāt normally so shy nor reserved, but with matters like this, she had to be. Itād determine if they were going to continue on the date or not.
āNow that youāve seen me in person, what⦠Do you think?ā
