Sometimes you need to read something twice to get it. You might need to watch a movie three times to understand it. You might have to have that album on repeat for a week until the lyrics make any sense. You're allowed to engage with it and can keep engaging with it until it means something to you. People will see a painting at a museum and laugh about not getting what the big deal is but like you can come back, you can see it at another time, and maybe that next time it'll be different for you. I'm of the belief the "media literacy crisis" would solve itself if more people just sat down and did it again. Watched, read, played, listened, etc like I don't think people are getting more ignorant necessarily I just think we're not glorifying personally replaying things nearly as much as we should be.
you've heard of "quiet quitting," now I'd like to introduce you to the next level, The French Work Ethic:
Do exactly what you're paid for and nothing more
Absolutely refuse to be available to contact when you're off the clock
Never prioritize work over your own health, wellbeing, or family because that would be insane, it's just a job.
Have a little glass of wine
Take as long as you feel like for lunch
Deeply understand that work doesn't matter
Make sure your boss your boss knows they're always your second priority ❤️
When in doubt, go on strike
touching grass isn't enough some of y'all need to drive out to the countryside and look at the stars
this post was aimed at the discourse-addled and terminally online, but i'm glad it's reaching an audience of people who are just excited about stargazing in general
i loooove being able to say i don't know what you're talking about when people tell me things happening on tiktok
Ashley, shocked : "Natural 20 !"
Matt, even more shocked : "Holy shit !! You can actually read that dice !!"

campaign 3 episode 120: Imogen Temult, Exaltant Hope of the Red Storm (hot girl shit)
being turned into a dragon as a punishment is so inherently funny. we’re sentencing you to become a beautiful magical creature that can live indefinitely and breathe fire and kill men with your bite. oh nooooooooo. anything but thattttttt. bad news, I’m a reptile. good news, I no longer have to pay my tithe to the church.
hate coming to terms with things. i should be able to cast a fireball instead
