The Last Election
Our country has been reeling since it’s last election. I don’t mean last as in “most recent”. I mean final.
Timeline:
Coming Weeks: As I write this, a growing number of Americans think the President will be impeached for colluding with the Russian government to fix the last US election.
A partisan congress won't impeach its own president.
We’ve seen just how partisan the GOP is willing to be, despite the danger to the US, its people, and the Constitution itself.
We need a GOP led House to bring the impeachment. Then a GOP-led Senate - who has so far appeared sycophantic - to find Trump guilty. Remember Merrick Garland. This impeachment will not happen.
Unless of course Trump becomes really unpopular.
Trump needs one thing to stay popular enough to hold on to his job: An attack on US soil. Dead Americans.
Or, if that doesn’t manifest, he needs to launch the world’s first combat nuke in 7 decades.
Some people say there will be a false flag terrorist attack staged by Trump. He lacks the knowledge and loyalty to pull it off. And he doesn't need a false flag.
Trump’s two months of abysmal foreign gaffes and needless escalations in delicate situations are all he needs. He's encouraged enemy after enemy to attack the US.
He’s already tried to distract from his treasonous scandal by launching missiles (ineffectually) into Syria. This was not an adequate distraction.
Now he’s poised to nuke North Korea. This is a back up plan.
Summer 2017: One of these two things will come to pass very soon: A nuclear attack. Or another MAJOR US terrorist attack.
We will find ourselves in a tumultuous war, because Trump needs the distraction. Quite possibly more than one war.
2018: will come before any impeachment. The heated-up liberals and progressives will turn out. But they will be ineffective. Discriminatory anti-voting practices are too powerful. GOP politicians will defend party instead of democracy. (see Merrick Garland)
2018: elections will come and go. The Senate and House will remain in GOP control. Liberal protests will get more organized, bigger, and seemingly more effective. Progress will be illusory.
2019: Media will continue being attacked. Government regulators will be shut down. Oversight will be gone from the US government completely.
The economy will be devastated by half-assed plans and staggering nepotism. US $ will flow Trump-ward as the Russian ₽ flowed to Putin.
Deportations become far too expensive. Illegal immigrants are interned. Camps may not be concentrated, but they will be owned by prison companies.
Illegal immigrants will be forced to work as slaves as they “await” deportation. Ironically taking away more jobs from lower classes. Deportation will never come for many of these people.
2019: Election season. The Democratic front runner will probably be a mainstream, compromising candidate who’s incredibly smart and qualified. And yet be the totally wrong person to run against Trump.
No incumbent US President has ever lost re-election during a war. Trump will keep the war on.
The obvious campaign for the Democratic Party will be “not him”. Even though this campaign failed HRC in 2016, Romney 2012, Kerry 2004, and Gore 2000.
Russian collusion will come up during the election. It will continue to fall on deaf ears, no matter how compelling. Here’s why:
Loss of media, loss of government oversight, hyper-partisan will ensure a Trump victory in 2020. Look at the staggering interference in the 2016 election while Obama was the president.
Trump has control of this now. Kushner, Bannon, and the like will work hard - and competently - to ensure Trump remains in power.
Liberals will blame the electoral college again (correctly). GOP may still hold both houses. And likely the vast majority of the SC by now.
Trump remains President in 2021. Unthinkable Constitutional amendments start coming to light.
Liberals find posts like this one and start believing them. Civil war becomes an open discussion.
2024: there is no Presidential election. Trump’s approval ratings are over 90%. The “people” love him, so why should he even step down?
At that point, there are one of two terrible outcomes. A civil war. Or worse: no civil war at all.
Much past either the loss of such a war or the lack of one, 1984 looks like a utopian dream. Russian and US intel agencies control everything but citizens’ thoughts. Dissent is death.
Orwell did not conceive of the internet in all its power. Satellites. Instant global communication. The totalitarianism of an unregulated state that answers to no one will be unparalleled.
Is This Avoidable?
If it is, it’ll be because you keep up the noise and the pressure on the House and Senate. You can get Trump impeached for treason by demanding the investigation.
In the meantime, the noise we make about bathrooms, police brutality, or foreign affairs are meaningless if we lose control of our entire government.
Stay focused on the biggest crime ever committed in human history.
Airship - My Insanely Expensive Zany Pilot Script
I wrote this pilot... well, because I thought it was fun as hell. And since I’m so happy with the way it turned out, I wanted to share it with other people who like flying boats, nonsense physics, warlocks, cyborgs... you know, people like you. Please enjoy and send me some feedback on it!

Trump Loves Hate
I almost wrote a post a few months back, about how "stop the bad guy" political campaigns never work. But then pussygate happened, and I realized I was being silly. That this time was different because no one, no matter how ignorant they were on economic policies, could possibly vote for a monster who'd proven himself unfit on all levels.
I wish I had posted it.
Hating a candidate is never enough to make another candidate win.
This was the plan of Democrats in 2000 and 2004. Al Gore and John Kerry never came off as champions. The whole Democratic culture was "NOT that W maniac, right?"
Obama came along and he was truly inspiring. The Republicans, having themselves learned nothing from the Democrats' defeat, put up an uninspiring candidate in Romney in 2012. (I think 2008 was a little different, so I'll set that one aside.) Their plan in 2012 was "Not that Obama guy again."
I watched three entire presidential campaigns revolve around hating the other guy, and they all lost.
Hillary did have her flaws. But they weren’t email-related. Overqualified as she was, she never controlled the narrative of the election. Never. Trump did. He ran a campaign of hate and we hated him for it. We fed the demon.
Every time we directed (correctly) hatred towards Trump, we fed the one thing a narcissist needs: more attention. He soaked it up. He used it to deflect from the one thing he was weakest on: the issues.
Now that Trump will become the least secure and most powerful person in the world, he'll need to do some very predictable things.
He needs a new war. No U.S. incumbent president has EVER lost reelection during wartime. Not ever. Trump needs a war to detract from his failings. And there will be failings. And if you thought he was battling controversy before, he's going to say and do some stupid things now that he has power.
But what he really ought to do is scare the detractors into line with the use of nuclear weapons. He doesn't need to strike first. He can retaliate to some smaller incident. George W. Bush gathered shoddy intel to convince people there were weapons of mass destruction. Trump will have far more power than Bush did. Trump will have Russia's full propaganda machine and intelligence agencies behind him.
Trump is about to give you far more reasons to hate him. Resist. Hating him got him elected. You need to build up new champions. People who inspire us at a grassroots level.
Find reasons to get behind and talk up the good people we have. If there is an election in 2020, we can't have another campaign of hate. We can't point out how incompetent Trump is at the expense of pointing out how great our people and our plans are.
Trump loves hate. So stop hating.
