Peter Lorre with his father & as a father
Found the top pic here
Chronic illness sucks because you’ll catch yourself thinking shit like ‘I wish it was possible to bathe regularly’ or ‘they should invent a digestive system that doesn’t hurt’ and then realise… that’s actually the case for most people. That’s the norm. Not only do most people have that, they don’t even think about it
i like to believe that Boo Berry isn't a real ghost but actually a wisp of Peter Lorre's cigarette smoke that came to life.
like this:
Boo Berry actually spawned into existence because I used a time machine to go back in time to give Lorre a blueberry flavored vape and that shit hit so hard he coughed up a piece of his spirit that manifested in the blueberry flavored vape cloud thus giving birth too our favorite halloween cereal mascot :DD
this movie was kinda cosy :] one of my favorites now !!
pngs used: croissant, coffee branch, chocolate covered figs, magnifying glass, typewriter, train ticket to Paris, book, gun
"The Chase" may be a difficult movie at times, but Peter Lorre looks both appealing and up to no good in this promo. As he should!
"Screaming meanies" Sydney Greenstreet & Peter Lorre
Movieland, April 1946
Went and did my citizenly duties and voted.
Peter Lorre and Jack Benny
Two favorites! Alas, I have only this half of a magazine spread (and I don't even know what magazine it came from). Jack is searching for an actor to stand in for him, looks like:
He thinks Gary Cooper should be taller, Gig Young should have more talent, and Peter Lorre, arriving sans hat, doesn't match up to Jack's "well-dressed" tag! (And I wish I knew where these pictures were actually taken from.)
Peter Lorre is a guest star in this Jack Benny radio episode, "I Stand Condemned" from March 24, 1946. Skip to 14:56 or so for the play within a play and Peter's luscious voice:
And then watch Peter Lorre in this Jack Benny TV episode from Jan 22, 1963! (He cracks Jack up.)
Here's a picture of Jack because he too was a gorgeous man:
Peter Lorre as Mr. Moto in "Mr. Moto's Last Warning", 1939.
Recent article, nothing we don't already know, but thought I would buy and scan.
Peter Lorre playing tennis, 1940s.
Link.
Peter Lorre and Poldi Müller in the play, "Sie darf keinen Sohn haben." Loosely translates to "She must not have a son," I believe.
I feel like this has been out here before - it sounds so familiar - as I was clicking through the ANNO historical site (thanks to @vintageerieteacup). But as my own filing system, memory, and ability to search on tumblr all seem to be at low ebb, I'm posting it anyway. Because seeing Peter's face is the best.
More under the cut + source. I am unable to translate and I don't know if Peter is even obliquely referred to in the rest of the article.
Hollywood members of a dinner party of Sherman Billingsley's Stork Club: actress Karen Verne and screen menace Peter Lorre.
Dan Dureya, June Vincent and Peter Lorre, 1946.
A lovely drawing of Peter Lorre as Hans Beckert in "M," though I don't know the artist.
Peter Lorre as Pawlitschek in "Bomben Auf Monte Carlo", 1931.
