if you and nerdywyrds don't mind my asking, what made King AU Mar end up like That™? Y'know, the hating Damas as a kid and Daxter feeling like he's gotta be the voice of reason for once stuff.

oh boy I'm so sorry for taking forever to answer this, but I wanted to give you a good answer with drawings... but my life is a little crazy right now.

ANYWAY. A lot happens for Mar to end up the way he does (angry, vindictive, and distrustful), but it really boils down to the fact that he doesn't get the happy and carefree childhood that Jak does. He witnesses firsthand as Jak is killed. He watches as metal heads overrun Haven City and Dark Eco essentially becomes a never-ending storm out in the wastes and makes a ton of people incredibly sick. Because they now know that he is just a younger Jak, suddenly everyone expects so much of him at such a young age. When Mar goes to Spargus, the father that has been searching for him since he was an infant turns out to be a paranoid and controlling wreck of a man, barely hanging onto sanity. And there's just so much more. About the only people who Mar genuinely likes and trusts are Daxter and Tess, who became almost like parental figures to him as he grew up.

As for Daxter, he's less of the voice of reason and more suddenly thrust into the role of hero. He watched his best friend die, is suddenly turned back into human, and is now tasked to train Mar because he knew Jak the best and therefore encountered eco the most out of everyone. He is absolutely doing okay and not at all feeling any doubts or sadness, no way, not a chance.

I can't believe I forgot to share this, but I pulled this out of the kiln a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with it, but I still might add some gold luster to the antlers and infinity symbol.

I am dipping my toes into doll modding, because I want a Creature doll. No Frankenstein merch? No problem. I'll make my own.

I got a base, then started by dremeling down the sides of the neck because it was too wide for the head opening. Then I used foam clay to make a neck and head joiner because the ball in the neck was too small to keep the head on. (I know I could have bought a piece for that, but I had foam clay and it worked.) I sprayed it with MSC to prep it, but I made a rookie mistake and sprayed while it was really humid, so that's why he's all splotchy.

I started mapping out his scars using watercolor pencil. I referenced a ton of screenshots that I took. I had to fudge the back of his legs a bit, because I couldn't get a clear shot of them. Next I'm going to start adding color with pastels!
