Okay fuck uhhhhhh pinned post because we've kinda needed one for a while

We are the system Elysium, co-hosted by Raine and Siffrin (you'll mostly see these two post but there's potential for more). We're all neurodivergent disabled faggots (although slightly different flavors of each)

Raine - ⚫ - they/it, agender ever-shifting shadow creature, (amateur) botanist/mycologist, extraordinarily gay for their partners and (generally platonic) lover of many friends and otherwise

Siffrin - ✨ - they/he/she/it, aroace (mostly), I draw a lot kinda, partners(?) with my clone from another timeline who now exists with me in my head and the physical manifestation of my homesickness and mental illness but we're both doing a lot better now so it's a pretty healthy relationship

We're an adult, and we sometimes post/reblog 18+ things, although not often

I think that's all we've got for now here, we'll update this if we think of anything.

Don't forget to drink some water/eat some food/get some rest/get some fresh air/take your meds/fix your posture/get out of bed/take care of yourself/etc.!

Today I learned that cuttlefish experience REM sleep, and that it makes their skin flash random colors. This is the cutest thing ever.

The electric eel at my aquarium has a voltmeter attached to his tank, and whenever he pumps out a burst of electricity–either when he’s navigating his tank or getting fed–the meter lights up and makes noise. Sometimes, I’ll walk past him when he’s snuggled up and totally motionless on his log, and see the voltmeter going crazy.

I am left to assume that he is dreaming, and is sleep-zapping at the things in his dreams.

(smoking a cigarette) the average american is afraid of what is new and what is foreign, and especially of what is adult. they are trapped forever in daycares of their own design, reading books and watching shows made for children. And while there are interesting things made for children, by and large, they tend to stick to inoffensive, intensely juvenile things that won't challenge them much. And worst of all, if you suggest to your Average American that they should try to step outside of their narrow box, especially if they're trying to become artists, animators, film makers, novelists, etc, everyone acts as if you've just bombed the daycare. Wow.
