resurrected a really good sandwich of my youth:

one avocado mashed up with salt, pepper, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and a spoon of mayo

sprinkle on toasted almond slivers

Been reading a lot of stuff that is… well my reflex is to say BAD but I think it’s more accurate to say NOT FOR ME. Finally reading something REALLY GOOD again and what a goddamn delight to be chewing through pages and having a great time hanging out with interesting and compelling characters that I can’t get enough of in a world that feels unique and cohesive.
All that to say The Tainted Cup is great. Ancient Rome meets Pacific Rim meets Sherlock Holmes with some Warhammer 40k sprinkled in, written kind of like if China Mieville didn’t hate you so much, or maybe if Terry Pratchett and Ridley Scott had a baby. Kaiju blood imperial biohack noir. Would recommend.
