They’re toxic in an even greater way because as a disabled person, I didn’t realise till I was reading this how much I had internalised that. I genuinely have had feelings of fear and shame about using a chair or a walker if I get married. And why? Because I’m constantly seeing “heartwarming” stories about disabled people who shed their mobility aids for that moment. Why the hell am I afraid of using them to get married? Anyone who marries me or attends the wedding will know I need them and love me regardless.

Bless this post for making me realise I’d internalised that shit.

These types of stories teach people, both abled and disabled, that using mobility aids, especially wheelchairs, is inferior.

I made my addition to this post in June 2019. Its now January 2020 and I no longer feel guilty about the idea of going down the aisle one day with mobility aids.

This post floated by a few months ago, and I remember something to effect of there’s a difference between recovery and refusal. That is, like, I have a friend that suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury. He can walk again now, and I don’t think I’ve seen him use his chair in a few years. When he walked at his graduation, it was to show off his recovery. That he wasn’t quite ready to go through a full day upright, but he could walk across a stage, unassisted, and soon he would be able to do that every day. There’s also a difference in someone like me choosing to not use a mobility aid. My mobility is intensely fluid, especially seasonally. So, I would plan a summer wedding. And while I love my cane it can also be the biggest pain in my ass, so I’d want to just go unassisted. But that’s normal for me, at least right now. I can walk without an aid during about half of the year. It’s reasonable to assume I can make it through one day without it. All of that is different than someone that is fully and permanently paralyzed, that will never walk again, dragging themselves along because they feel that’s somehow better. Overall though, my biggest takeaway is fuck the media. Because disabled people should be able to make whatever decision they want without the media turning it into this grand inspirational story.

sorry for not posting about fionna and cake, new life series has me in a chokehold

I havent watched everyones POV yet as im a lazy fuck BUT i do have more stuff from people on Tumblr and im gonna post that + some stuff i also noticed (and other people noticed) here, sadly i wont be able to credit anyone for the thoughts and rambles BUT i will gladly state that not all of these i noticed, and that other people pointed them out beforehand, i just needa write this shit down somewhere

OK so, first of all most obvious thing of literally everything, the very blatantly similar EVO symbol on the secret keepers face, sure its flipped and the broken off corners are further away, but it's definitley resembling the EVO symbol in several ways. ALSO in the intro with when you get hearts taken away, the similar symbol gets red particles over it, and as someone else pointed out, watchers feeding on negative energy, as when you complete a task, nothing changes on the statue.

BigBs task was also different to everyone elses, with his being a red colour rather than the pale off-white colour (idk colours), also, as another person pointed out, BigBs task was very vague and more than one sentence long with 'make it your base if you want' at the end of it. I haven't seen BigBs POV yet but also he decided to keep acting suspicious even after completing his task, even when his task didnt revolve around that, which could be either him just deciding to do that, or something to do with his task being red coloured.

Also something i noticed and many others noticed to, the sky darkening whenever you approach the secret keeper, this could just be done for it to cast an imposing presence over people, however the sky darkens to a dark purple colour, and at some point its shown as light purple (i wasnt paying attention so it could be due to the time of minecraft day for the darkess of the sky), a colour commonly used for the watchers is a light purple colour. It's probably just a coincidence but im putting it here anyway.

Theres also Jimmy pointing out that the symbol looks familiar, and Grian saying that theres an end possibility on this seed, which if you've watched EVO you'd probably know what i'm thinking here, i have no idea how to put it into words but I hope you understand (hopefully if you dont someone else will be able to explain it).

Also as another tumblr user pointed out, BigBs task might not be a coincidence with the line 'make it your base if you want', as it could be somehow linked to the 'possible end portal' the seed has, perhaps its above or near it, and that is why the task suggests to make it his base, if he wants.

Also Grian saying that the rules are just suggestions, and changing them for Scar is quite reminiscent of EVO, with him not following the rules, when will he learn. Also Grian stating to 'let evolution take its course', he knows what he's doing, he knows.

anyways thats about it, i'll probably post more when new sessions come out (so like next friday), credits to everyone who came up with the theories and also very big respect to all of you you all have massive brains.

A little comic to sort of rework the ending a bit better ish. Some inspiration from @sicklyseraphnsuch's writing here. Some notes in the cut!

Ok, so I wasn't the biggest fan of the show's execution of the ending. Thought it was underwhelming, spent time in the wrong places, and accidentally made Simon carry a bit more blame than he should've.

My fixes would've been to smoosh more moments of Simon learning this lesson + his importance in his universe earlier in Winter King + The Star. Ep 9 jumpcut to the bus sequence again, sans the letting betty go bit, as it's revealed he's in Golb's presence. Cue an entire episode flashing through his and Betty's lives, because I think we never got to really hammer into Simon that life is worth living/moving on with despite their mistakes (he realises those mistakes himself earlier, and we don't need that Casper Nova nonsense.) Bla bla bla Ep 10, after a proper apology, thank you, and goodbye, we can satisfactorily blow Simon home etc. Half of the remainder ep to answer burning questions about how him + Fionna + Cake are healing. Anyway. Obviously I can't do those cinematic things in a comic, and I admit the script in this one could be cleaner/tighter but whatever haha. Enjoy! Please don't repost elsewhere thank youuuu
