then can I get xiao x fem!reader hc about the reader avoid xiao because she doesn't want to bother him with traveler? she will make stupid excuse whenever xiao want to meet her ( ≧Д≦)
keeping your distance
xiao
he didn't know when you started avoiding him, but when the realization sank in, a deep pang of hurt settled in his heart.
xiao certainly did think it was odd how your visits to wangshu inn seemed to be growing less frequent over time, but he didn't dare think too deeply about it. it wasn't like you were tied to him, anyway; he was just a friend you visited whenever you were free and had nothing else to do. you were never obligated to see him.
but your weekly visits was like an unspoken role between you two. you would find him standing by the balcony, and you'll talk his ear off about the events that happened the past week, your mindless chatter filling the silence he's grown to be unfamiliar with ever since he met you.
it was something he always looked forward to in his bland everyday life. and it was gone, just like that.
and at the very least, he wanted to know why. had he done something wrong? did you get sick of him? did you already... find someone else better to spend time with?
“-an you hear me out?”
xiao was snapped out of his thoughts the moment the voice finally registered in his head. unfortunately, it wasn't the voice he wanted to hear.
a sigh parted his lips as he spun on his heel, turning away from the balcony to face the traveler standing idly with paimon floating beside her.
“what is it?” he spoke, an exasperated edge to his tone, and lumine cocked her head to the side in confusion, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth mentioning.
she displayed a serious expression, meaning nothing but business. “there's something i need help with...”
xiao was someone you held dear, and you thought he also liked you... to an extent.
maybe not as much as you did for him, but enough that he doesn't complain when you talk his ear off. he doesn't care if you talk about the most unimportant of things, or if you demand his protection when you venture into dangerous ruins. he complies with whatever you ask of him, and you've come to find he's a great listener, even if he doesn't talk much.
xiao was a great guy.
that's why you couldn't help but think he was too good for you, at times.
he was an adeptus, for archons' sake! he was truly someone amazing! and you were just some... chatty adventurer who can't fight.
he was fit for someone better. someone on even ground. someone extraordinary. someone like... the traveler.
you've heard of her. everyone had. she was the hero of mondstadt, the warrior who reigned triumphant in a battle against one of the four winds. she was strong—and not to mention, quite pretty. she has even caught the attention of that fatui harbinger.
...and now xiao too, it seems.
compared to her, you were nothing. she truly did look deserving to be on the spot beside xiao, unlike yourself. they were great together.
but was it wrong to want him for yourself anyway?
“okay,” you murmured to yourself, chanting a pep talk in your head. “you can do this. it's just xiao—just because he met lumine, it doesn't mean he'll throw me away. we're still very good friends!”
you searched through your bag, making sure you had packed the almond tofu, and headed off to the usual spot where you meet him. you hummed a cheery tune, feeling positive with your insecurities melting away, until you arrived.
you just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, that's all.
“-ank you so much!” you heard faintly, but all sounds were muted under the sound of your whole world crashing down. your vision turned blurry when you caught sight of interlocked hands, a small smile tugged on his lips, and the red flush on her ears.
you didn't want to watch, so you hurried to run away.
“[name]?”
you halted in your tracks, dumbfounded. slowly, you turned around to face xiao, but without meeting his eyes. he stepped forward, sending lumine a final look.
“you didn't visit for a while,” xiao remarked, his walking pace a tad rushed from eagerness—not that you could point it out.
“oh, um, yes... i didn't have time to...” you laughed nervously, scratching your cheek. heat crawled up to your neck, and it did not feel pleasant. “actually, i think i'm also busy today after all! so i think i'll go...” you scrunched the sleeve of your bag, beginning to keep your distance.
he furrowed his brows, perplexed. “you... just got here,” he breathed out, hesitant to let you leave so quickly.
“yes, but i have to, uh... walk my pet fish!” you cringed right as you finished saying it, and xiao's expression convolutes further into confusion.“w-well, i'm really glad you're doing well!” you left it at that, hastily backing away before he could get too close and notice your misty eyes. “i'll see you again soon!”
he parted his mouth, reluctant to speak. “...i see. have a safe travel.”
“of c-course!”
and so, you left as quickly as you came.
(you didn't pick up on the disappointment in his voice, but lumine sure did, and watched by the sidelines with a worried look.)
“...you've done me a lot of favors,” lumine started, twiddling her fingers. “do you... perhaps want me to help with this problem...?” she offered, cracking a sympathetic smile. xiao perked up.
“...if you will.”
lumine's logic was straightforward.
“she can't escape from you if you ambush her house.”
not the best wording without context, but xiao got what he needed, and he did just as told.
...so now you were caged between a pair of arms, definitely unable to escape.
the situation probably wouldn't make sense even if you explained it from the start, so you won't bother to do it.
“haha... xiao... i never thought i'd see you here...” you said truthfully, facing the side so as not to brush noses with the male mere inches away from your body. “what are you doing inside my house? this is considered trespassing...” you trailed off in an attempt to steer the conversation away from the most pressing concern.
“you're avoiding me.”
xiao really couldn't read the room, could he?
“avoiding your face, you mean? if i did not, we would be- kissing!” you squeaked, pushing his chest with both hands. “could you back off a bit, you're a bit too close...”
the hot breath fanning against your ear was not unwelcome, but this was not the time for that.
instead, he went even closer. “did i do something wrong?”
“no, not at all! xiao, if this is your idea of a joke, it isn't funny-”
causing you several heart attacks was not funny in the slightest. your heart needed a break, so please, let it rest for a few seconds before breaking it.
“then why?”
his voice trembled, and you stopped shrugging him off.
the atmosphere turned somber.
his arms fell limp beside you, and he rested his head on your shoulder, utterly exhausted. worried, you raised an arm to pat his back.
“...i was beginning to think you despised me...” he admitted, weak in your touch.
you grew panicked, feeling the urgency to deny his claims. “that's not true!” you replied, finding the idea preposterous. “that's... that's not it at all...”
“then what else could it be?” he released a hurmorless chuckle. “you've grown tired of me, haven't you?”
“i thought you were the one who got tired of me!” you blubbered, entirely honest. “you... you have her already.”
he rose his head from your shoulder. “‘her’?”
“the... the traveler,” you stammered, too ashamed to lock gazes with him. “you're fond of her... aren't you?”
“...what on earth are you talking about?”
“it's true, isn't it? i saw you hold her hand...!”
“...she was grateful for my help,” he responded calmly, cupping your cheek. “that's why she did it. it was an expression of gratitude.”
“...that doesn't immediately mean... you don't like her that way...” you mumbled, cringing at your own weak arguments.
“[name]. look at me.”
begrudgingly, your eyes slid to his amber ones, gleaming under the moonlight.
“she might have held my hand, but you're the only one i would touch like this.”
warmth surged in your cheeks. “...that's... kind of...”
“what?” he tilted your chin, thumb brushing against your lips. “do you wish for proof?”
childe would never let himself show outright how much he missed you, even if he had truly been longing for your presence in the past few days counting down to the date of your return—that's his pride, as childish as that sounded.
heh. childe. childish.
so he did what he does best—taunt you.
he chuckled when he spotted you dashing to his direction, uncaring of the attention you were beginning to attract due to your strange behavior. he found that a little cute, admittedly.
“aww, did you miss me that much, [name]? you look excited to see m- oof-”
his cooing came to a halt when you leapt into his arms, paying no heed to his teasing. his arms instinctively wrapped around your waist to carry your weight, blue eyes widened in (pleasant) surprise, and he surely wasn't mistaken when he heard you sigh in satisfaction.
“i'm home,” you muttered into his ear, blissfully oblivious to the red hue coloring his cheeks since you buried your face into his neck, and he was terribly grateful for it.
the small remark sparked something in him, a wonderful mix of relief and joy, and he relented, peeling off his mask of composure.
“welcome back,” he replied, tone light and loving as he tightened his embrace—sure to not let go anytime soon, even if you had pleaded him for it.
diluc
he was getting antsy.
diluc paced back and forth right in the middle of mondstadt's entrance, restless for your much awaited arrival. you came later than he expected, and despite his insistence to not think about it too deeply, the endless possibilities flooded through his brain regardless.
were you interrupted with something? the job was harder so you took more time to finish it? or were you perhaps...
he cut off that line of thought; he knew better than anyone you were stronger than you looked.
still, that didn't dull the sharp prick of worry seeping into his gut. strong as you were, by any chance your opponent was stronger, then-
“diluc!”
his head shot up in alarm, hurriedly searching for the source of your voice—and there you were, with a large smile on your face, waving at him excitedly.
you were undeniably disheveled, dirt marring your skin and clothes torn at the edges.
yet you were just as beautiful as he remembered.
without wasting time to think, he sped towards you, earning curious glances of nearby townspeople. you giggled at his fast reaction, meaning to open your mouth to say your greetings, but he had pulled you into his chest and sealed your lips with his before then.
the gasp that followed wasn't only yours; the onlookers were visibly shocked by the brave display of affection coming from your lover. diluc was a private person who kept his personal affairs to himself, and this might had been the first time they've seen him act so... vulnerable.
“d-diluc?” you called out when you parted lips, immediately crushed to a tight hug right after.
“sorry,” he murmured, relishing in your warmth. “just a little longer. please.”
xiao
it was the first time you had ventured so far beyond liyue, so you expected xiao to be a little worried about you, if not very anxious—he should be at least slightly distressed from your short leave, right?
but that didn't seem to be the case, you realized once you stepped back into your hometown.
“you're back,” xiao stated matter-of-factly, lacking any traces of relief in both his expression and his voice. the indifference made your heart clench painfully, but you dared not to let it show and instead displayed an innocent smile.
“yeah, i am.”
even he could tell something was wrong with your lackluster response. he opened his mouth, hesitant, but then he heard loud footfalls quickly rushing near you, and he was forced to vanish in a instant, in fear of being seen.
“welcome back, [name]!” the townspeople greeted warmly, much unlike your boyfriend, and you felt hurt all over again.
still, you put up a cheerful front. “i'm back!”
thus, you received an invitation to have lunch with everyone. you couldn't find a reasonable excuse to refuse, so you complied, thinking it would be a harmless offer.
oh, how wrong you were. you kept being pulled back in whenever you tried to leave, because they all wanted to talk to you regarding your recent travels.
you were getting more nervous with each passing second. was it really alright to ignore your lover for this long? though you did enjoy spending time with everyone else, you wanted to see him again.
“hey, it's getting late. could i... leave early? i'm really exhausted,” you said, smiling apologetically at your neighbors while you fumbled with your fingers.
“of course, of course! it's only natural to be tired after a journey. sorry for holding you up.”
“come to my home when you're well-rested, okay? i want to hear about everything you did!”
“see you later, [name]!”
“see you later!” you waved at them farewell before hurriedly rushing to your home, where you assumed xiao would be.
“hm? he's not here... maybe he'll visit later?” you mumbled, looking around the empty house. “might as well clean this place before then.”
you took off your shoes, starting to take off your garments to change into new clothes, when a sudden force knocked you into your bed.
you landed softly with a small groan, cracking an eye open to assess your surroundings. you were met with the sight of xiao himself, sharp amber eyes gleaming under the dim lighting of your room.
“you're late,” he remarked, in the same tone he's always used, but now it had some bite to it. he had his elbows propped up on either side of your head to keep himself upright, hovering above your body with an air of authority, and making you rather... nervous under his gaze.
you blinked, unsure of where to put your hands. “oh... yes, that's because... they really didn't want me to leave...” you brokenly replied, flustered at the close proximity between your faces. “um... sorry?”
that didn't seem to be the answer he wanted to hear.
his eye twitched, narrowing in distaste, and his lips were pressed firmly into a deep frown. it was notably more expressive than the face he makes on default, and you wondered if he was genuinely upset.
why would he be? he seemed perfectly fine earlier that afternoon.
“uh... i brought some food with me from the place i came from?” you suggested, thinking it could improve his souring mood. you gently placed a hand on his chest to push him away so you could sit up. “let me just go get it-”
“no.”
he pushed you back down, inching even closer than last time. releasing an embarrassing squeak, you attempted to shuffle away, but his steely glare stopped you from doing so. you were a hair's breadth away from each other, and the thought made you flush to a deep red hue.
“x-xiao?”
“you returned later than you said you would,” he practically growled, grabbing the hand you laid on his chest.
indeed, you took three more days than your expected arrival. “o-oh... i'm really sorry about that...?”
his glare hardened even more. “and you took so long outside.”
“...that is...” you avoided his eyes, goosebumps littering your flesh. somehow, you felt the need to cover up despite being fully clothed. “true...”
“so, then...” he ran his hand through your hair, tilting your head to make you stare at him directly. “do you plan on making me wait longer?”
“w-wait longer- that's-” you stammered, feeling a sense of foreboding. “w-what does that mean...?”
“it means,” he huffed exasperatedly, “because you made me wait, you're not getting away until i'm satisfied.”
he swallowed your gasp with a kiss, leaving you breathless under his mercy.
and such was the start of his onslaught of kisses, greedy and insatiable, and safe to say he wouldn't let you go soon.

Includes: Kaeya, Diluc, Xiao
Kaeya
Kaeya was all about the hot gossip, hey, it was how he learned about new things, secrets and the sort, but when he heard several unwanted things being discussed in your name, he was anything but pleased
There was no way he heard them correctly, no way that someone would be so foolish as to speak poorly of you - he wanted to make sure his ears weren’t faulty
His curiosity was piqued when he heard the pair say your name. They could have been talking about anyone, but it wasn’t likely as he’d never heard of anyone else go by, y/n before. So, he decided to investigate, it was a skill he was rather good at. He got great joy out of sneaking to and fro, deep into the shadows where only chilly wind blew and concerned eyes grew restless.
Luckily, the two were talking in a place that made it easy to slip in behind, just enough distance to keep them unbeknownst of his presence, while close enough to hear what they were saying.
“I mean, they really aren’t even that great.” One of them expressed, their arms crossed about their chest and head turned away from their companion. Kaeya tracked their line of sight and knew definitively they were talking about you because he could see you off in the distance. There was no question it was you, no one could ever compare to the radiance you gave off.
“Yeah, they are just a huge tease. I’ve seen them flirt with everyone they meet, it’s all for show just so they can get what they want.”
“Exactly, what’s special about them anyway. They aren’t even that attractive.”
“Hah, you’re right! Not to mention they don’t have a lot going on otherwise, in their head or their body.” The two of them laughed and it made Kaeya’s blood boil. Who the hell did they think they were talking about you in this way. There was a strong desire in him to break his oath as a knight; were these even people worth protecting, they seemed more like bugs that needed to be taken care of.
“Hello.” Kaeya sauntered down to them and the two turned suddenly, their eyes going wide when they saw the captain.
“Captain … Kaeya.” The one looked at their friend before continuing. “What are you … I mean how can we help you?”
“Oh, I was just making my way through the town looking into reports of a pest problem.” He stopped before them and put his hands on his hips, a dangerous smile crossing his lips. “You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that would you?”
“N-no. We haven’t seen any rodents or anything around.” It was apparent they were nervous, their constant glances to find an escape route was apparent. It was well known around Mondstadt that the two of you were an item, and it was also well known that the cavalry captain was not to be messed with.
“That’s a shame, because I was told they would be right around here.” He took a step forward and draped his arms over both of them, their bodies tensing at the contact. “I was really looking forward to dealing with the little vermin; I haven’t had any real fun in a long time.” The air got cold, Kaeya could feel them shivering from underneath this arms, but it wasn’t enough. They needed to learn to watch their tongues.
“We really haven’t seen anything …” One said, their teeth clattering.
“You know,” he began, his hands dripping with ice, “it’s probably best that you get out of here, I wouldn’t want to accidentally hurt citizens of the city. I just can’t seem to control my detest for pests.” His voice was filled with disdain and as he slid his hands across their backs he made sure to let them experience the frozen pain his vision was capable of bringing.
They jolted forward and ran into the crates in front of them, the contents spilling out onto the ground and causing such a commotion it brought the eyes of the other citizens in the courtyard. Kaeya watched as you stood from your work, shielding your face from the sun and when you saw him, you waved.
As the two left, their legs carrying them as fast as they could down the steps and out the front gate, you made your way to him.
“Hey, I didn’t see you over here.”
“No worries.” He pulled you close and gave you a welcoming kiss. He relished in the movements of your cheek as his lips pressed against you, it always made his stomach flutter.
“What’s gotten you in such a good mood?” You asked, putting your hands on his chest and giving him a slight push.
“I saved the city from a nasty pest problem, so now I’m getting my reward.” He kissed the other side of your face and it elicited a laugh from your throat.
“Our hero.” You cooed.
“Heh, I’m anything but a hero.” He whispered into your ear before dragging you to a place where curious eyes couldn’t follow.
Diluc
The thought of someone speaking ill of you never crossed his mind, you were wonderful and everyone thought so - your compassion and energy brought as smile to so many people faces, including his
Needless to say, he was pissed as soon as he heard their voices and the word they were saying
You were sitting at the bar enjoying the company of the bartender. It had become a regular routine for you to visit during the times he was working, one day you hoped he would let you stand behind the bar with him but until then, you offered pleasant conversation and company. That’s when you heard the sound of voices drifting down to the lower level, their volume and forcefulness standing out against the rest of the patrons in the bar.
“Just look at them.” One said through laughter.
“I can’t believe you were turned down by, what was their name again?’
“Y/N. They told me they weren’t ‘interested.’” Their laughter bellowed down to your ears and you turned your head away from Diluc. You remember who they were, how pushy and persistent they were at sharing their feelings for you. Countless attempts to let them down easy still didn’t seem to settle in their mind, as if they were entitled so something more because of your kindness. It hurt, but you didn’t try to take it seriously, you had someone in your life who meant more to you than anything, and it was only his opinions of you that mattered.
“I mean, they aren’t even that good looking, you aren’t missing out on anything anyway.”
Diluc shoved the cleaned cups into their space before turning on his heels, you caught his arm and the amount of strength you needed to hold him back almost ripped you from the stool.
“Diluc, don’t. It’s okay …” His head turned to you and you tried your best to give him a reassuring smile. The words hurt, stinging your heart and you did you best to keep yourself from getting emotional. “It’s okay.” You whispered in an attempt to comfort yourself just as much as him.
“Oh yeah, they only know how to lay on their back and spread their legs for someone with a hefty bank account.” You felt a stab in your chest and the heat rose to your face, and, all in the same moment, Diluc ripped his arm from your grip and stormed off toward the stairs.
When he got to their table you stood from your stool and debated if you should do something or stay out of the way. His hand reached for the one who last spoke, his fingers gripping onto the fabric of their shirt and yanking them from their chair. The commotion got everyone's attention and soon the bar was eerily quiet.
“What the hell!?” They screamed and gripped onto Diluc’s shaking arm.
“I didn’t quite hear you, did you want to repeat what you said?” The shade of amber in Diluc’s eyes were intense, even from the lower floor.
“Let go of me, this ... this isn’t how you treat customers!”
“Hmm, interesting point.” Diluc pulled them further away from the table, his other hand reaching for their companion and latching onto the first thing that they could. He led them down the stairs, not caring how they slipped or collided into one another, how much they protested, or how desperately they tried to keep up. Once he got to the front door, he gestured to the bard who often found their place near there, they flung open the front door and with ease Diluc tossed them out and onto the rough stone.
They grunted and complained as they picked themselves off of the ground and sent death glares back toward Diluc.
“Do not come back here, this is your only warning.”
One of them stood and took incredibly stupid steps toward Diluc, their rage heavy on their face, and in their breath.
“We don’t need this, you’re the one who chooses to sleep with the slut who's been in everyone's bed …” They were shut up in a second by Diluc’s fist. It made a terrible sound when it hit and they were sent stumbling backwards into the arms of their companion.
“Say another word and I will break more than just your nose.” He stood so tall, his head held high, his eyes piercing and fist clenched into a ball. There was something incredibly intense about the way Diluc held himself, it instilled fear in your heart and made it beat so fast.
The two scampered off and disappeared around the corner before he entered the building. It was uncomfortably quiet, people didn’t dare whisper let alone move. It was the first time many of them had ever seen Diluc lose his composure in such a dramatic way, and they weren’t sure how to handle it.
He made his way toward you, using his non-bruised hand he reached up to your shoulder and gave it a small squeeze.
“You didn’t have to go that …” you begin, but he cuts you off.
“Yes, I did. No one should ever speak about you like that.”
“Thank you ...” You looked at him but only for a second, it was so hard to stare at his face sometimes. “... you know … what they said wasn’t true.” You looked at him and his face was calm, patient. “I don’t care if you’re wealthy…”
He laughed and the sound seemed to jump start the life back into the bar. “I know that. Trust me,” he lifted your chin so he could look at your face, “I know more about you than anyone.” He smiled and it made you smile, too. You reached out to his other hand and when you touched it he winced.
“Ah! Let’s get some ice on your hand.”
“It’s not that bad.”
“Nope, where are your fresh towels?” You slipped behind the bar and he watched you search through the cabinets until you found what you were looking for. The sight of you working feverishly to help him made his chest warm.
Xiao
Xiao doesn’t meddle into things that don’t really matter to him, he’d much rather keep to himself than to spend energy on the small things
That changed when you came into his life - he found himself caring more and more about your wellbeing, your laughter. There was one thing he never imagined he’d have to worry about and that was your honor
He made his way down the rickety steps surrounding Wangshu Inn. The caretaker had done his best at fixing the staircase, but most people avoided using it as much as they could, there was something off putting about the way each step creaked and moaned as pressure was put on it.
You had explained to him that you’d be pretty busy for a few days and that you’d return sometime today. He’d waited patiently, a few days meaning hardly nothing to him, but he kept an eye open for your arrival and when he learned you had been at the bottom entrance of the inn he was interested in why you hadn’t made your way up to him.
The bottom deck was full of people, it seemed livelier than usual and he wished you had just come up to see him. It was a lot for him to be around all these loud voices. That’s when he saw you standing in a heated debate with someone. You looked upset, not necessarily angry, but hurt and frustrated. He knew, even from this distance he knew you were trying not to cry. His soft footsteps brought him close enough to hear the discussion you were having and the way your voice cracked, even as you tried to hold it all in, hit him in the gut.
“Please, I am very sorry about this situation … as I’ve tried to explain there isn’t much that can be done …” Your hands wrung together, their proximity to your chest a sure sign you were uncomfortable.
“This is your fault and I want it to be fixed right away. Are you deaf or just incompetent?” They crossed their arms and began to tap their foot, desperately searching for something or someone.
Xiao closed the distance, standing at your side and resting his hand against your back. “You took a long time.” He looked at you and could see the tears on the edge of your eyes. When he looked at the person who you’d been talking to he could see the red color forming on their cheeks.
“Finally, someone else. Tell me, are you just as incompetent as this,” they gestured at you before shaking their head and looking back at Xiao, “or are you here to get me what I want?”
“Huh?”
“I’ve been dealing with this stupid brat for far too long.” They flung their hands out before returning them to their cross arms.
“I’ve tried to explain it to you, what you’ve asked isn’t possible.”
“I don’t care, archons, how did I get stuck with this.” They reached for your wrist and pulled hard, “Take me to someone who can get me what I want.”
There was a huge gust of wind that brought the whole world to a stop. When you opened your eyes you saw Xiao’s hand curled around their wrist and his spear pointing directly at them, it’s long blade dangerously close to their eyes.
“Let go, right now.” With incredible fear in their eyes they released your hand and took a step backwards. When you looked over the crowd everyone's eyes were looking which was horribly unsettling. You looked back at Xiao but he didn’t release their wrist, nor move his spear from their vision.
“Hey … hey I let go …” They shook and when they glanced at the shiny metal in their face you saw their throat move as they swallowed. Xiao was like a statue, frozen and unmoving.
“Xiao …” You reached toward him, your fingers grazing his skin slowly as they cupped around his upper arm. “It’s okay, I’m not hurt or anything.”
“Not physically.” You felt a pain in your chest, he always seemed to know when you were upset, when you were emotional. Most of the time he kept it to himself, but he seemed to have a sense of your mental state even more than you did. “You humans always seem to find yourself drawn to petty disputes, I can show you something much more terrifying which will drown your worries.”
You took another step forward and placed your hand over his. “It’s fine, look they’ll apologize, right?” You looked at them and they nodded their head, their eyes moving between you, Xiao, and the green metal near their face.
“Yeah, I’m sorry… I take it all back.” The three of you stood that way for a minute before Xiao finally let go of their hand, they stumbled backwards before wrapping themselves in their long cloak and stomping their way down the stairs and onto the road. They were out of sight long before things started to drift back to normal. The two of you made your way to the elevator in silence.
“Thank you, for defending me.” You finally say, the creaking of the wooden machine all but drowning out your voice.
“They shouldn’t have grabbed you.” He expressed, his head looking out through the spaces of the elevator.
“Yeah, well it wasn’t anything I haven’t experienced before. People are such a challenge sometimes.” You sigh and rub your wrist.
“I’ll deal with anyone who bothers you.”
“Then who will buy the products I’ve been asked to sell?” You joke, turning to him and giving him a soft smile.
He huffed, “Still, I don’t like when people touch you … or say things about you that aren’t true.”
You leaned up and kissed him on the cheek, the redness of his embarrassment already glowing against his ears. “I knew you liked me.”
Kaeya's in distress when he hears his partner cry out in pain as they block an elemental attack that was aimed to hit the Calvary Captain instead.
He finishes off the opponent he was attacking to quickly rush over to exam his Partners injuries.
He'll attempt to find a way to best evacuate the battle without causing further harm. Kaeya will take his s/o to a healer and promise he'd be back once he finish the battle.
If the injury happens to major however then he'll stay with you as the healers work to patch you up
His behavior onwards really depends if your injuries were minor or major
If it was a minor injury then Kaeya will still act the charming and dramatic person he is. Although he is more caring and attentive.
If it was a major injury instead, his charming self drops instantly. He silently blames himself for the ordeal considering that the hit was meant for him and not you
During your recovery, he's very careful and takes over most of your commissions and other duties. He becomes a lot more affectionate towards you in hopes it help ease your pain.
After your recovery Kaeya is against the idea of sending you on missions where you can get injured again.
Childe
Livid
He's so pissed off by the situation, it causes him to lose focus. It's most likely he even kills the person responsible.
Childe would block your injured body from incoming attacks. At some point he'll use his Delusion to end the battle quickly. He doesn't care if his body falls into fatigue or injury himself.
His main priority is take his partner to a safe area where he can take care of the wounds on there body
With a minor injury Childe would patch his s/o himself, commenting how they shouldn't have done what they did. How it's his job to protect them.
Perhaps even a bit of teasing thrown in as well to lighten the mood.
But if the injury turned out to be major he would try to patch there injuries but concludes that a healer would be a better option
He doesn't leave your side until he receives confirmation that his partner will recover with time.
During the recovery period he spends most of his time getting stronger and getting into battles. Fighting is his way to relieve the stress weighted on his shoulders.
Whenever he's with you, he makes endless promises how he'll become stronger and protect you. Promising that you'll never feel an injury again, etc.
He might even start yelling if you try to tell him your fine or something similar.
Poor boy wants to protect you :(
ZhongLi
Remains the calmest the bunch. He has trust that his healers would help his s/o make a swift and comfortable recovery
But he is displeased that you risked your life to protect his considering he's a god and can't be killed easily compared to you(unless your an archon as well).
He visits you daily to keep you company while you recover. Asking for updates from the healers and making changes to his agenda.
Zhongli also clears up a lot of his schedule to spend more time taking care of you
Whenever he can't visit you, you'll wake up to see a cup of tea accompanied by your favorite flower or a Liyue plant.
If the injury was major, he remains the calm attitude but you can notice the worry clouding his eyes.
He becomes incredibly sweet and affectionate towards you it makes your teeth rot. ZhongLi is very gentle and gives you massages if you like one to take your mind of the pain. While he whispers sweet nothing in your ear.
He becomes increasingly protective of his partner from that day on. He keeps a closer eye on you whenever a fight breaks out. He quickly reacts whenever something can possibly harm you.
> requested by anon: Hi! I’m tired and a little bit sad and I want to be held so may I request hcs about how would Childe Kaeya Albedo and Bennett (if you write for him!) react to reader shyly asking for hugs and/or cuddles? Gender neutral. Thank you!
we all have those days, anon <3 np at all! (i might do a part two with zhongli, xiao, and diluc if anyone is interested!) bennett’s most certainly did not make me cry
> the scene: you’ve had a rough day. nothing seemed to go your way, and by the time you get home, you’re on the verge of tears. sighing, you make your way over to your partner, tapping his shoulder and softly asking for a hug.
— kaeya
of course he’s going to tease you, what else did you expect?
“oh, is my sweetheart craving my attention? you’re going to have to earn it, you know.”
after seeing your troubled face, though, he’ll drop the jokes, a frown replacing the usual smile on his face
“what’s wrong, hm? come here.”
he’ll pull you onto his lap, wrapping his arms around your waist tightly
he rubs your back comfortingly, quietly asking about your day and if he can get anything for you
he’ll hold you for however long you want him to, and if anyone happens to walk in, he’ll shoot them a sharp glare that sends them stuttering out a quick apology before leaving
after some time, he’ll pull back with a short sigh, doing his best to muster up a smile for you
“how about we get something to eat? i’m starved.”
upon hearing your mumble of agreement, he’ll lightly tug you up, leading you to a restaurant he knows you like
after you two eat, kaeya will slowly walk home with you, an arm wrapped around your shoulders as he does his best to make you laugh. he’ll pull out all his best jokes and recalls his most embarrassing moments, although he makes you swear on your life that you won’t tell anyone
if you do end up showing him that smile of yours, his face immediately brightens, a grin forming on his lips as he stifles his laughter
“hey, what’s so funny?! it was humiliating!”
you definitely tell everyone at the tavern about it the next day.
the moment they fell for you | valentine special! (part one)

part two | they say something they don’t mean with diluc, kaeya, childe, and zhongli
— diluc
↳ soldier, poet, king, the oh hellos
diluc knows he’s fallen for you when you gingerly treat his wounds after a fight.
his words seem to be caught in his throat, watching you wrap a bandage around his leg and scold him. he doesn’t think anyone has ever been so gentle to him before — life for him has always been harsh and strict.
but not with you.
“what were you thinking? i’m always reminding you to be careful, diluc, you know this. do i have to start chaperoning you?” you look up at him expectantly, blinking in surprise at the softness covering his face. “uh, diluc?”
he nods after a moment, clearing his throat. “i suppose that’s not a bad idea, is it?” he suggests, smiling lightly at the exasperation in your gaze. “i’m only joking, you know. i’ve no need for a chaperone.”
“well, from the way you’ve been acting, you clearly do,” you retort, securing the bandage and rising from your knees. “you’re going to go to bed. now.”
he perks a brow, remaining seated. “oh? i am?”
you huff out a breath. diluc isn’t acting as he usually does — his stoic attitude has shifted. what’s changed? “yes, you are. you need your rest, i’ll go make you some tea or something.” before you can walk away, though, he catches your wrist, the warmth from his palm sending a shiver up your arm.
“wait,” he says, and when you look back at him with nothing but concern and adoration in your eyes, diluc feels the ice that has imprisoned his heart begin to melt.
just as you begin to question him, he pulls you down onto his lap, holding you in a strong hug. you let out a sigh, breathing in his familiar scent and letting a sense of safety wash over you. he revels in the feeling of having you in his arms, eyes closing against your shoulder. for the first time in years, he thinks he’s exactly where he needs to be.
he feels home.
“thank you,” he whispers, sudden tears beginning to prick his eyes. “thank you.” he feels as though a curse has been lifted off of him, an overwhelming feeling of joy overtaking him — and it’s all because of you. you and your soft touches, your laughter, your wide smile that you reserve for him and him only; he could go on for days about what he loves about you.
of course, you don’t know this, not yet. despite this, you nod, holding him tighter when you feel his tears begin to wet your shirt. you comfort him, because you know he hasn’t had the chance to be held since he was a little boy.
“of course,” you answer, voice knowing and steady, though you don’t exactly know what he’s thanking you for.
for now, this is enough, diluc decides. although he might be scratched and bruised, broken and lonely, having you with him is more than enough to heal his ruined past.
So I made something.... I’ve sort of been wanting to write a fanfic for the longest. I will probably post the first chapter this week on Wattpad. What do you guys think?
Rewatching the iconic bar scene from the beginning of Red Dead Redemption 2 and appreciating the Little Details™
puts on galaxy brain
This is a fantastic, more candid introduction to the major players of the story, even though this is hours into the game after a series of intense opening sequences. Up in the mountains we got to see all these outlaws strut their stuff in unforgiving conditions, with the very real threat of death coming at them from all sides; wolf packs, rival gangs, a freezing blizzard. It just takes your breath away.
This is the narrative equivalent of letting their hair down, both literally and figuratively: getting the audience to see these characters as living, breathing people. The dignified and collected Javier is shown being more silly here, toasting the barmaids in a cheer and slurring his words. Charles, a man both blunt and reserved, shows off his gentlemanly side with his hand on the small of the lady’s back.
It’s a great scene because it shows so much in a short amount of time, informative while still being organic. Charming while still fitting the mood of the story.
takes galaxy brain off
okay but charles’ reaction when arthur first walks up, guy hasn’t said a thing yet and this man’s lip is already curling
he knows this loud-mouthed jackass is going to just fuck things up
Then, plot twist of the century:
A r t h u r F u c k s I t U p
Ladies don’t look too surprised the Brawny Man isn’t as soft as his paper towels and go off to find Mr. Clean
javier realizes no amount of singing is going to bring them back
charles doesn’t realize anything because he explicitly didn’t invite arthur for a reason
arthur has a brief moment of clarity that he’s going to be single for 5,000 years
