Last month I moved a step closer to 30 years on the planet. When I take a moment to reflect, I find that the late twenties can be a difficult time existentially. You start to forge your place in the world, try to balance more priorities, and aim for more ambitious goals. If you are more task-oriented rather than relational like me, then you can get caught up in the doing and forget to just be with other people. I’m super guilty of this, and often self imposed stress points me away from people and instead to the work I think in need to do. So, to my friends, be patient with me as I try to point myself back to relationships and balance priorities. Summer ☀️ memory 🧠 dump 🎞. Last summer I spent virtually 100% of my time in an office, just grinding away. I’m so thankful that this summer was different. After a year of essentially no work/life balance, I was able to adjust and start a new path. As I’ve starting reconnecting with friends and working on music again, I realized how imbalanced my life was for while. Finding the right balance in life is a challenge, and I’ve realized that I especially struggle with it. I tend to laser focus obsessively on one life element at a time, and then drop almost everything else for that period. I’ve thought about “discipline” in the sense of going after a singular goal, but less in terms of keeping all sides of my life healthy simultaneously. Anyway, more music to be released soon.
